I noticed I really love lands by John Avon, and he is among my favorite artists. In no particular order -
John Avon, Terese Nielsen, Rebecca Guay, Jason Chan, Eric DesChamps
I love many other artists though, such as Adam Paquette's work, Jamie Jones is great, etc. But I noticed a high ratio of cards by the above artists in my decks.
Does Rebecca Guay still do art for MTG? It's been too long since seeing a piece by her. Love her dreamy fairytale style. She would have been perfect for some romantic myth pieces in Theros.
I don't think Guay has done a piece for MTG in a while. Love mah some Guay, Nielsen, and rk post. I have many a token arted on by rk. Daarken is also a favorite. His darker stuff is fantastic.

Wizards has made a statement re: Guay that they don't feel that her art style is in the same vein as the direction Magic has been moving in the past few years, so when she does do art for them it will most likely be promos.

Could you please link us to said statement? I would be interested in seeing what was said. If Wizards did say that I am surprised - Rebecca Guay would have been perfect for art in the Theros block actually. I was very disappointed she was not featured as an artist. I bet the Nyx starfield would have looked amazing in her art style if she had painted a card showing one of the more enchanting Theros myths.
I don't believe Wizards needs to emphasize the war aspect so much frankly. It's a game about casting magic spells too, and all that - Guay doing a piece about say Endymion or something in Theros would have been perfect.
