I'm interested in starting to do some renders for cards. I've tried a few but the images that I am using are always smaller than the template that I'm using. My question is: what resolution size do most of you use when you're doing a render. I'm assuming the bigger the better, but is there a standard size that you typically look for? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
If you are just going to be using the image at card size, 53mm x 40mm, then make your image that size at 300 dpi (626 x 424 pixels). But if you are going to go through the effort of creating the art, do it a larger size so that you can make prints or share the image as a wallpaper! In that case, I always paint at least 3000 px wide, usually larger. Plus, when you scale it down, you will often pick up a greater sense of detail. Good luck!
