Kampfer are you able to provide us with old text on the new Akroma, Angel of Wrath art? I do prefer her "no rest, no mercy, no matter what" flavor text.
A question for anyone who may be able to answer. Can someone please tell me what the template to used to make this card? Thanks!
Hohoho, this is my toy.:D Nothing special, just use the RoblinGoblin's M15 Template. I heard that the admin. here didn't put his template's link in the OP of this thread and the search engine is down, and also companied by the deadlink under RoblinGoblin's user name. So it may not be able for your to get his template now.
But with our great great Mr.Kentu, we have a light of hope here. He has updated the template and issue the new MOrigins Templates also. Please go to his message left in this thread and click on the name "Templates" under his signature. That will bring you to his storage of useful (almost all of) templates for mtg rendering here. Please check it out if interested.
@Kampfer: Nice renders, and use of overlays for that matter. Just one thing: the first letter of each keyword after the first one in the same paragraph shouldn't be capitalized. And I think the renders would look a bit better if the overlays were a bit less opaque, so the textures could still be seen.
I'll post my own renders in a few hours.
Thanks for your kindly advices. It is my own preference for those key words or function words in captial letter for eye catching purpose in game play. I try to follow the rules of this thread and don't mention about anything about making a render. But the fact is I and my friends like to play around these things for our fun. In many times we've encountered that we may miss a key ability or function word at a quick glance during game play. So I just have some of the important words in capital letter in my renders in order to read them fast and easier.:)
For the overlays things, I'm not quite sure which part of my render you are talking about. I'm interested in learning more about fine-tuning the outlook of my renders, so would you tell me where are those problem or point out those problem for me please?:)
Since it's a personal choice, it makes sense you change the capital letters.
As for the overlays, I was talking about the textures you added to the text box, twins and in some cases, the frame. I think you could either change their mode to "Overlay" (dunno if this works the same way on Photoshop as it does on GIMP, though) or reduce their opacity.
Also, I'll post here one of my renders. Feedback is welcome
Oh, I get it. I will try and see how it comes out according to your advices. Thanks a lot. I am not so familiar with the functions and usage of Photoshop actually and it is always helpful and welcome to have some good fellows to teach me about the technical skills matters.
Oh, I want to ask for another question also: I notice you can change the symbols and the color of that M15 style little holo stamp in your render. May I ask how to do that please? I want to make some custom stamps also.:)
Thanks in advance.

Not sure about what you mean. You just need to download Kentu's M15 Updated All-in-One Template and try to switch on and off those layers inside, then I believe it is self-explanatory and you will understand how to use it.
@Kentu: Can't wait to play around your great contributions. But there is one little problem I want to ask how to fix it. Please look at the background colored little circle under the creature sign. The color Frame lines look separated and unlike the real one which is joined together with no separation boundary (for e.g. please compare the creature side one and the planeswalker side one render. The planeswalker side has the correct Red Frame Outline). How can I fix that problem? I've tried quite some different ways but still fail to fix it. Thanks a lot!!!:)
It was made like that intentionally they are what I call "Security Flaws" that help prevent/deter people from using my templates to make counterfeits. I make the template close enough to the real thing at a glance, but can be easily spotted if really look at it. Sorry if I disappointed you or anyone else with the hope of having a perfect template, but I'm sure you understand. I also saw some mentions of Roblin's template, not sure what happened to his link, but I do retain a copy on my site in case anyone was wondering and wanted a copy as well as my updated versions.
As for the holostamp, there are a few ways you can do it. Easiest way is to create a new layer and copy whatever symbol/pattern you want on it, then turn it into a clipping mask over one of blank stamp layers, and then just add one of the foil effects. Udelude may have a different and more efficient way of doing it. I too am interested in Udelude's method if it is different than mine.

The main issue I have been having with the Origins template is getting the mana symbols to appear up correctly (amongst other issues). Though, starting to get use to how this thing works, I am still very confused on how to add technical detail.

Not sure what issues you are having with the mana symbols.... if it's just getting them on the card you will need the magic 2008 or magic 2011 font and use that to make the mana symbols. a "o" will make the circle and then you would use "W,R,G,B,U" for the corresponding color that you want. then highlight the circle and change color using the color swatch. I hope this is what you were looking for and helps.

That gets me a little farther than I was before, but right now, I am still having trouble x.x (wondering if it's the fact that I am using PS CS2). Here is what I am working on so far and you can see my issues in person.

OH,I c then. thanks a lot. That is reasonable and the template is good enough in the outlook as a whole to me. At least, I won't be so despair and falling helplessly like when I don't get any template for the new MTG Frames before (And I don't have the skills and knowledge to make that myself). You are already very very kind and helpful here. Of course, I'm interested in the technical methods of using Photoshop to make things well and even perfect.
Still on the issue of holostamps: I get what you mean. But still I don't know how to make the following things: 1st/ how to make that "repeating appearance of the same little symbol in that pattern like what we can see in a normal m15 holostamp ". What function and steps should I choose in Photoshop in order to make that outlook? 2nd/ how can I create a foil effect or layer in Photoshop and make it usable in a little space like, for e.g. those little holostamps? Want to learn these skills also. Would you please tell me or be very kind enough to even show me how please?
Thanks in advance and your kindly help and replies:thumbsup:

For the mana symbols layer, I have 2 suggestions:
1st/ try to use the Magic 2008 or 2001 form to make a layer which contains almost all the different kind of mana symbols you need whenever you need to make a mtg render, then save it , copy and paste it every time when you need them. This may cause you a hard time for once but will be very convinient in the future. I myself do it this way;
2nd/ use google search to search for a large and clear image which is a collection of all the mtg mana symbols (keyword: mtg mana symbols) and save it. Then you can just call it out everytime and cut, copy and paste it ,etc. in order to make the casting cost for a mtg render.

Thanks! I will give this a try! Another issue is where the name of the card is, I cannot get that gold background that doesn't have the circle cut from the origins template. That and in the bottom right corner, above the P/T box, the blue border gets cut off and doesn't go down straight. I apologize for asking all these questions v.v

There is a holo stamp that prevents/deters people from making counterfeits...
sorry for my poor english but I dont't get what you mean. Which template are you talking about? do you mean the M15 Promo Type Template from RoblinGoblins (which is posted by you)? or are you talking about the latest MOrigins Template provided by mr.Kentu?
Why do you need to cut that gold background out? I really don't get it.

Oh that is up to Mr.Kentu's choice and I have no right to comment on him. He is already very helpful here and is the saviour of this thread for most of the members here. But I would like to say, just also an answer to what mr. Narb777 said quite some time before: Yeah, I do also agree that the holostamp is already really really good enough and powerful enough to prevent counterfeits. I believe there is no way for people out there to mimic something like that shining and quite complicated in looking little holostamps. Apart from being shining and beautifully designed, it is clearly seperated and sticked onto the card surface of a normal mtg card. There should be no way or cost too much time and money to make counterfeits on it. So for some people like me who want things to be perfect, I would certainly hope that we can have a collection of good and beautiful, perfectly made Templates here.
But up to this point, I felt being saved and I really want to say thank you. I am not dare to comment on such great effort of contributions. But I would say I am agree with mr.Kamahl, the Fallen about this point of view. Of course, if there can be, even a very slightly chance, I would love to see that Mr.Kentu will change his mind and grant us an updated perfect version of the new Origins Templates.
Thanks to all of you for being so helpful and gave us so many good advise here so far.:grovel:
Well, mana symbols in cost area seem to lack the shadow effect, but that's not really a problem. Biggest problem with your rendering is the aspect ratio of the image... why would you skew it like that? Also, the text box and type line might use some transparency... the text is not really that readable.
