Hi everyone! I'm an artist, and also a long-time Magic player. I've lurked these forums for years, on and off, but haven't contributed anything. I mostly draw in an anime-influenced style, so I don't know how well-received that would be around here, but sometimes I draw with the intention of making proxies for fun.

I wanted to start doing that after I was commissioned to draw an Azusa for an EDH player, and followed that up with an Azami for my own deck. There's no real consistent style to these initial six, save for the "full art" aspect. One thing I'm going to try to keep consistent in the future is using white text for the entire card-- not sure why I used both black and white on some of them.
Mooooostly girls, whoops. I have plans for a Dark Confidant (male) and Stoneforge Mystic (staying female here), mostly for my janky vintage Esper deck that I want to use full-art proxies for now, since I only get to play it casually anyway.
I'm also sort of looking for better fonts to use for the Japanese text. Magic's Japanese font looks really stylish, while mine is mostly basic. I can't find the font I used for the old name plates, but it was perfect for what I wanted to do. Oh well! The search continues!
images removed - your digital alters fall under what WOTC considers counterfeits. Additionally we have a PG-13 bar for artwork. If there's less coverage than a standard bikini that's a no-go.
*I'm not sure if this thread is against the rules, now that WotC put out that whole "no proxying" announcement. The focus of my cards is clearly on the art, and they're obviously not trying to look like legitimate Magic cards.
Yeah, this post is all sorts of against the rules. Advertsing, an inappropriate image, promotion of illegal activity. You're using elements of Wizards' intellectual property (card frame, mana symbols, etc) so it's not *just* about the art. Warning issued - ZS
EDIT: Guess I should have just posted the art itself, since I intended to make a gallery thread like Merkymerx's MTG Fan Art and not get merged with another one (which also has their deviantART URL in it, in case you want to enforce your ruling over there as well).
The difference between how the links are used in your's & Merkymerx's posts is key. You lead off with posting a link and talking about doing a commission. Those two together is a big red flag. Whereas Merkymerx presented his link after showing off several pieces of artwork in a manner of "for additional info you can go here" with no mention of commissions. Posting on-topic links is fine but not when it takes on the appearance of advertising or soliciting.
I enjoyed several of the pieces on your DeviantArt page. I look forward to your gallery post and seeing more.
Hello all, I am a long-time fan of this forum, but a first-time poster. I wanted to see if I could bother you all for some feedback. I started and continue to do alters as a hobby, and over the years I have started to spend more and more time focusing on the depth and quality of the artwork over the commercial appeal of altering cards. That being said, I'm by no means saying these are anything other than what you see, (i.e. some are better than others). I know there is an enormous wealth of altering talent that grace this thread, so my question is: will enhancing the artwork JUST for the artwork's sake eventually become desirable to people even if a) it's an odd card that I just happen to like the artwork on, b) questionably legal as far as playability, and c) presumably too expensive for casual collectors based on how much time I am dumping into these?
You'll see below my format is pretty simple; top name bar, P/T, and full extended artwork. I alter the existing artwork very little on all of my cards. In any case, I'm trying to add more. More to the story of the card, more to the mythology, while all the time trying to (sometimes frustratingly so) come close to the artistic quality of the original. Admittedly, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I do a lot of sketching and reference, but at the same time I use cheap hobby paint, so it's by no means a perfect system.
Hopefully some of that made sense, again, please excuse the forum noob. I want to commit more seriously to altering and am trying to temper my expectations based on my previous mode of operations. Without anyone else to ask about it, I thought I would head straight for the best minds in the biz. Thanks for taking the time to read through this wandering post. Cheers.

I was giggling at the power/toughness alter on the Solemn Simulacrum, I really liked that, and then my jaw just dropped at that Murderous Cut. That's bloody brilliant.
Some of you may remember me, though most probably wont. Haven't posted on here in about 2 years I think. I used to be a regular around these parts, but stopped playing magic for a while and got out of altering.
Well, I am back into the game, and back into altering cards!
Here are a few recent ones for my black EDH deck:
