I was just talking **** for the sake of it don't worry Umm.. about your alter .. just thin the paint i guess ? And maybe bring the edges into the painting to make it flow more? I'm not expert maybe someone a little more experienced can comment on it.
Its ok you just had me worried bout the signature on it a bit XD. but in any case thanks I'll keep all this in mind I use Gold's fluid acrylic paint so its already really "watered down ". I was thinking that keeping him off centered made it a bit more interesting composition as well but I see your point as well. thanks for the crit I hope to make some more soon.
Hey, guys! (Ondal & Demo), that's a nice deal you've made! I would like to trade with you someday (hope you want to, hehe ^_^;) May be to make a collaboration trade (to half paint each card, then send it to the other to complete it.
I am in need of a little help here.
I am fairly new to altering, haven't figured it all out yet. How can I prevent that the frame of the old picture shines through? The changeover from picture to paint isn't as continuous as I want it to be. Look at my alter, there you can see what I mean (e.g. above an under the blade of the weapon).
Do I have to paint more layers?
You could try some sort of gray basecoat, then paint on that. I seem to remember E. Klug has some sort of picture tutoral on this (maybe check the links in his signature?) I don't really do this altering stuff, so I could be pretty far off base on this one.
Hiii !!! thanks BB ^^, i remeber we talked about something like that and we agreed for a fire/ice collaboration. But i don't remeber if it was you or me to start the alter, if you want i can start it ( i have just to find a fire and ice )
Well, so if you start it and send it to me, I can start another one and send it to you (so we keep each one. ) What do you think? Just let me know wich one you would like to receive, and I'll try to find it.
Hey guys, first time poster on this thread. I convinced my girlfriend to alter some cards for me as she is a pretty brilliant artist. With a meager 8 paints(so pardon the coloring) she churned these two out. She'd really appreciate any feedback you guys have!

@Blackbull: I'd certainly be in for a collaborative alteration effort; my best work often comes out of art trades.
Well, if you want, we can arrange for a rarity range and choose a card the other has or can find easily, then half-paint it and send it to the other. We can talk through PM for that.
A recent commission. Gisela with the sword of fire and ice and the sword of war and peace.
I really like this. I'm about to pick up a commission I ordered of of Godo, Bandit Warlord done up as Goro from mortal combat holding: FaF, SoFI, SoLS, and Jitte.
I have no idea why anyone hasn't mentioned this guy yet.
That is an absolutely breath-taking Savannah there. I'd buy it in a heart-beat.
I really hope you keep altering so we can see all your artistic skills here!
Breaking news.
There will be no Tibalt, Tamiyo, Tezzeret, Garruk, Chandra, Liliana, mini-Jace, big-Jace, Garruk again, or Sarkhan in Theros either.
There will also be no Black Lotus.
Nice work man. You aren't a beginner to painting, right?
One tip: The rest-acryl in the textbox from harvester of souls can easily be erased with a toothpick. Works best it the color is wet, but works also when dried.
Just realizing that it is before noon in the USA. Just finished work... what a time difference
Yes, actually .. this is my first time painting anything.
And yes, I have been using a toothpick to clean up the cards when I finished. I read a mention of that tip when I was reading up on what to buy.
Side question-
Should I be applying some sort of protectant to the cards after I finish? I remember some friends a few years back in High School would use a sort of hairspray over their paintings after they had finished.

WUBRGPauper Battle BoxWUBRG ... and why I am not a fan of Wayne Reynolds' Illustrations.
Not sure if the image is working, so here's a direct link:

It's starring Fire Imp as the Ice King!
Sorry the pic is a little low quality, she took it with her camera phone. It's also going to get a little bit of a touch up at some point.

I know the Flagship has been done Ad Nauseum, but I had to try one.
