I just finished up a Nicol-Bolas themed play mat for one of my friends. I used india ink pens on a regular blank play mat. You can see the higher-res version at my deviant art page (http://creatorpwned.deviantart.com/#/d5b66fn)
Edit: Just realized my buddy Joe posted this too! Sorry for the double post! Thanks Joe!!

WOW. That's amazing work. Do you do commissions? =P
"Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh has risen to the peak of artistic achievements. Although Van Gogh sold only one painting in his life, the aftermath of his work is enormous. Starry Night is one of the most well known images in modern culture"
One of my favorite works of art. I thought it would look great on a mat.
Edward Hopper's Nighthawks with some recognizable patrons.
"1942 painting by Edward Hopper that portrays people sitting in a downtown diner late at night. It is Hopper's most famous work and is one of the most recognizable paintings in American art. Within months of its completion, it was sold to the Art Institute of Chicago for $3,000, and has remained there ever since."
Hell of a deal if you ask me! This is another example of the artwork that inspires me.
Stasis originally by Fay Jones might not be one of my artistic inspirations but it was certainly one of the cards that got me interested in MTG years ago.
I have always wanted to take her original concept and add to it.
so ive had a blank playmat for quite awhile now. been procrastinating doing anything with it. the other night i was restless and couldnt go to sleep so i went ahead and drew something finally.
merging my two geek hobbies. anime and magic. credit to inkedplaymats for the incredible work. and the wonderful shipping tube i'll carry it around in. haha

Bird(s) of Paradise. My newest mat based on Birds of Paradise artworks by Marcelo Vignali, Terese Nielsen, and Edward P. Beard, Jr. Please excuse the crappy picture. It looks a million times better in person.
Also me working on a Juzam mat in my studio. This was one of my early mats. It needed some cover-up work done to hide some spills form the past 3 or four years.

We're running a survey in the general subforum to stablish the "sub Power 9" ranking (the cards from 10th to 18th place after the power nine, from among all the other existent cards.)
The results of that survey will be used for the artwork contests last month so, please, help us to get a more accurate ranking (go and provide us with a top 9 cards. Rules are in the first post of the thread.) Here's the link ----> CLICK ME!
@TTTF your work is just outstanding man! completely awesome job!

Jace, the Mind Sculptor original art by Jason Chan
I decided to omit the white/blue energy from this one. I have done so many JMS mats and with every version I ultimately feel that the energy obscures from the detail in his face and suit. In this version his hands. eyes and face are just starting to light up like he is getting ready to cast a spell. It works in person but this picture doesn't do it justice.

Can you guys help me with this mockup of a playmat I'm working on? I plan on printing this onto a blank playmat, but it needs some tweaking before I do that. It's 200PPI, 4900x2900 (So, 24.5" by 14.5") with a border of 50 pixels (0.25" as per inkedplaymat's guidelines) to help it bleed correctly.
I was basing it off of the red zone playmat seen in high-level Magic tournaments, but with a few tweaks to add functionality to it. It's got spots of lands, non-land permanents, the redzone, which is standard...but if you look in the top corners, you'll see an odd little square.
This square is designed to fit a MTG deck, either vertically or horizontally. Why are there two? Well, if you like to play EDH, you'll often have to move your deck to another corner to prevent blocking your opponent's view of your field. Having two also gives a place for the Commander to go. The four squares are sized to fit one D20 each, for counting general damage, which would be placed around your commander.
The problem is, the grey square is ugly as sin and doesn't fit into the rest of the mat. Can you guys help me design the mat to look better while keeping the same functionality?
Copyright the mana symbols to Wizards. I'll probably just remove them altogether if it becomes a problem.
I've attached the playmat so far, the playmat with a mockup of what a game would look like, and the inspiration I got.
EDIT 2: Nevermind. I've finished it up on my own. I've edited the attachments to show both ones with logos belonging to Wizards on them, and an alternate version that avoids those symbols.
Chandra holding a Sword of Fire and Ice versus Liliana holding a Sword of Light and Shadow in the Phyrexian Arena with a crowd that consists of varies anonymous baddies with Goblin Welder, Sengir Vampire, Goblin Lackey, Kiki Jiki, Blood Ghast, Vampire Nighthawk, and Grave Crawler presided over by Griselbrand as the player with a pack of Psychatogs at his feet while holding a Pithing Needle. All wreathed by Pyromancer's Ascension...
