I would really like to have an awesome backround that is not pixelated of either Geralf's Messenger, or Gravecrawler (preferibly Promo, but I will take Regular also) or maybe even Ghoulcaller's Chant? would love any of them, but most important is Geralf! my favorite card for my Black/Red zombies!
I saw them on here a while ago. They used the artwork from the MTGO Cube Dual lands, except they were in an unhinged frame and also had a box at the bottom center that said the basic land types that each were (obviously with the card title at the top center).
Please help me find these!
Thanks so much! and i apologize if i'm using this section wrong, i just felt the artwork sunforum was the best place to ask.

Just like all the other requests for these kinds of things, you can check my Magic Art Archive thread. I definitely have the original art for Gravecrawler, and I wasn't aware there was a promo version of him so I'll see if I can find that as well. I'm certain I have Geralf's Messenger, though not certain if I have it up yet, and I'm unsure about Ghoulcaller's Chant, but it can't hurt to take a look.
My google fu has been failing me, could you link to place you found it? I don't need High Quality for my purposes, just the image without the card stuff.
Thank you for your efforts.
No, the link in general was broken. The thumbnail that leads to it wouldn't be useable, it's far to small, and cropped if I'm not mistaken.

Hello, I've recently started buying altered cards and I'm interested in finding more alter artists. I'm interested in a specific type of art which I'll call "original".
Please recommend any artists which produce "original" work as described below. Please also include links to their work. Thanks.
My preferred alters are narrowed down by excluding:
- not border extension
- not adding small details to existing art
- not anime girls
- not trademarked characters, public figures, cultural references, etc
- NOT printed stickers
I do fully respect the skill which goes into these types of alters, I just don't prefer them.
I look for these traits in alters:
- full-art extension
- repainting the art box or full card
- synthesizing new content, images, icons
- using your own artistic style
- replicating the style of famous artists
- referencing the name and function of the card
My favorite artists are Eric Klug and Marta Molina. I scoured eBay today and found the following interesting artists (see their current and completed items):

Yes sir, I take fantasy art and character design commissions, PM me for rates.
Hey guys. I am looking to make some Oracle updated proxies, but I am having trouble finding HQ cropped art. The torrent from Mwsgames is complete but the quality of the images leaves much to be desired.
Does anyone know of a place to get HQ Crops?
Or the Magic Art Archive thread in this very forum! If there's something specific you're looking for, drop by. If it's not there, leave a comment and I'll see what I can do.

Lucky you, I actually found a high quality version of the Buy-a-box Gravecrawler. Not sure when I'll have it up, but keep an eye out for it on the Magic Art Archive thread.
I would like to have an alternate art kaalia for my EDH deck buy don't know where I can find one I want/person to do what I want, I wanted basically a frameless textless kaalia with basically the same artwork, either drawn very hot or preferably partially nude. Any help would be greatly appreciated
try talking to actual alterers. not just sticking a request in the artwork forum. Talk to Cardkitty or Galspanic or others. i'm sure they'd be willing to help.

Hi all, I have been wanting to have a kaalia of the vast alt art card, I have tried contacting artists with no luck, I was just wanting to know if anyone would be interested in doing it for me, pm for details, thanks
I'm looking for a playmat with a elves on it.
More specifically I am looking for sexy, female elves.
No nudity, but something that embodies the beauty of the female body and the the intensity of elves overwhelming.
I've searched a lot online and have been unsuccessful in finding any.
If you know any that meet this description please let me know.
Thank you

you are awesome! is there any luck with that Geralf's Messenger HD art as well, i messaged Kev Walker himself on facebook but no luck yet.
I want to get a playmat with Jace and Tezzeret in the same picture. I can't find any artwork of just them together except for this one.
This is artwork from the Duels of the Planeswalkers video game (i dont know which one), and i don't have the game so i can look to extract it from my computer.
Is there anyone who has a high resolution image of this picture so i can get it put on a playmat?
Also appreciated are other images with just Jace and Tezzeret in them (photoshopped together or not, as long as it looks cool).
I'm pretty well going to stick to Skullbriar so I want something cool to represent him. I'm going to keep my regular version if it gets tucked. My deck is on it's way to being foiled and is a Rock-ish deck with a small Zombie subtheme.
Should I go 3-D with original art? Find some other cool art to get 3-Ded? Should I get the art extended? Should I track down one of the oversized versions and crop it so I can get a foil horizontal? What would you do?

Actually, yes, I do have a high res version of that image. I'll see if I can get it up in my Magic Art Archive thread.
Hi. I wanted to ask if there is a site or more sites where I can find the promo illustration for cards, expecially the old ones. I'm talking about things like the judge promos or MTGO, duels of the planeswalkers ones.
Can someone help me? Thanks
It depends specifically on what you're looking for. You may think you were specific, but that was incredibly vague. Generally, google searching for an artist's website can produce results, but older arts are much harder to find, and promos are doubly hard. I do have some Judge Promos and MTGO and DotP alternate arts, but again, I need to know specifically what you're looking for.
this is my first post in this forum and apart from playing the odd Friday night magic session and some casual magic, I am also very interested in 3D-Art. I have thousands of surplus commons and uncommons and selling them in bulk is as good as throwing them in the next garbage bin. I wanted to give some sets away to people starting out with MTG, but then I still have hundreds of cards left.
The idea now was to make some 3D life counters out of the surplus ones, keep some for myself and possibly sell some of them on the bay or elsewhere. Obviously I didn't plan to sell hundreds, but mor euse up most of my commons and uncommons as fillers or layers and reinvest in cards I need for a Commander deck or so.
I made a first attempt and it is a fun hobby in itself, yet I was wondring if it is legal to sell such life counters (abacus style) or tokens. Are there any issues regarding copyright infringement if I use an orginial magic card and make it 3-D?
What if I recombine different cards? Say I have this very nice card I like the person in the foreground of, but the background is not what I invision? I thus replace the background with say a standard land. To freshen it up even more, I cut out all the text boxes and have underneath the actual 3 D art another 'window' which features parts of another card or maybe a standard land in 3-D.
In this way I would use magic cards to create my own artwork, using artwork by different artists.
Are both cases legal or is only a 3-D card without alterations legal or is the whole concept a grey zone? I see that some people are selling those cards, as does Seishirou Ookubo who supposedly invented this art (and he is featured on Wizards website). If I acknowledge the artist(s) (in case of the original card this is already the case on the card, but for the background, lands etc. possibly not visible anymore) on the back of the counter, am I on the save side?
If it turns out it might cause problems I will continue doing the 3D stuff for my own use. Is it then legal to share those pictures of my works online? Again, I see hundreds of such photos in this forums, yet, it does not automatically imply it is legal.
I would appreciate it very much, if someone could help me with this question.
The Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 video game for PC / XBox / Play Station features some High-Quality artwork. It would be awesome to extract this artwork for easy browsing! A quick inspection reveals that game assets are encoded. I hope there's a way to hack them out?
Secondly, we've got a great thread here on MTGS dedicated to creating photoshop templates for custom cards. I'm wondering if we could improve the quality of the templates by using official Wizards card frames. I hope that somebody might also be able to extract the card frames for comparison.
Note that the game demo can be downloaded for free. I don't know if all the assets are included in the demo though. I'd guess so seeing that it's ~1GB.

Thank you very much for moving the thread into the Q&A Thread. As it did concern legal stuff and not so much the crafty aspect I made a new thread. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
I assume the yes applies to the main question asked, then I should be good to go.
I am collecting Magic: the Gathering images for computer backgrounds.
As you may well know, Windows 7 allows the user to choose an entire directory of images to rotate as desktop backgrounds.
I choose Magic art. I have, over the past year or so, been collecting as much Magic art as I could get from the Daily MTG site, and any more I find in spoilers for new sets. I currently have, as of this writing, 2262 images. Most of them are from newer sets (pretty much from Alara forward, and mostly Scars forward). Does anyone, by any chance, have an archive of images for Magic art? I would LOVE to have more. There i sno such thing as too much.

Anyway, Does anyone know the origins of this artwork? Like were is it from originally? Or at least who the artist is?
