Hello guys! My name is Ramon Costa, I'm from Brazil.
Here are some of my work. I try to do life counters Foil or Full Foil (background, middle and front).
Amazing. I like the Jayemdae Tome idea.
How do you decide how to do the bottom parts? Some have border things and some do not.
This is my favorite.
I cut each page and i try do some cut in the border to differenciate each other. But all they are pages of same card.
Tkx dude.
and all part of my works i try put a land foil in the background.
Minotaur Token.
I put a plain Land from Khans of Tarkir in the background to shine!:)
3D card is difficult to take a good and satisfatory photo, than i need take a lot of photos!
I got inspired by all of the incredible counters here and decided to make my own. I've started combining cards to alter backgrounds or add interesting elements into the alter. The fireballs on the Savage Punch for instance were a huge hit.
The Etched Champion was one of the filler ad cards. Like an idiot I didn't take a picture of the final version before selling it.
One thing I do that I haven't seen anyone mention is protecting the fragile art inside the card frame. I cut TopLoaders to be the exact size of the cards, then cut a rectangle matching the size of the bead box. Sandwich that between the top layer and one below that, just on top of the actual art. It's almost invisible as seen in the pictures, but leaves 0 possibility of the delicate art being damaged with every day use. Lets me get away with much finer details since they won't just bend off.
My latest project was for my U/W modern deck. Experimented a bit so the edges are a bit rough where glue spilled out.
In the edge picture you can see where I put the plastic layer and I took two of the top for comparison to show it's almost invisible unless there is a reflection.
Amazing that you got 4 rows of beads on there, looks like it will be very useful.
I like the mana symbol. Seems like it is the only really white part of the card. Some beads are kind of white too, probably just hard to see in a picture.
I did it by order.
I put a Island FOIL from Theros in the background. So, this alter is Full Foil.
The 'wave' have 5 layers. We can't see in the photos. =/
I have a meticulous process to final art . When I just alter the card , i retreat all impurities and glue traces from the card. Then keep the card inside a plastic with adhesive glue. Then keep in a black case , to fully protect the card.

Guys, question: what do you use to color in the edges of holo cards? Every holo I cut can't be colored by sharpies and has a weird looking effect...
Don't use sharpies. ^.^ I use these. They wipe from the foil and cover the edge fine. If your foil edge's ink chips then that is a totally different issue as it leaves you with a shiny line that follows your cuts. This is rather difficult to overcome.

I think that's my issue, actually. Here, take a look at the picture attached (I know it's not MTG, but I guess that this holo issue is with MTG cards as well).
I can fix this by painting the edges instead, but that takes a bit too much time to do.
Yeh looks like you have some flaky ink problem. Try a sharper blade, try to cut perfectly perpendicular to the card, try foil cards from a different set.
MTG had a huge flaky ink problem with FTV 20 cards, they would flake just from taking cards in and out of sleeves. Normal sets flake some, especially if the blade drags on the cut too much or bends the foil while cutting. Difficult to avoid really.

What did you use for plastic?

The beads in this one are really good choice.
How do you put it in plastic?
How I do 3d
If anything is unclear, let me know so I can change the text a bit.
Maybe i'll try to do the same!
Congratz man!
*it is not really complete, there are still more schemes to set in motion = D
