This weekend I will be hosting another of my Standard Pauper events at the local game store. Like all my Pauper events, I created exclusive tokens for all the participants. The last Pauper event winner requested a Pegasus token that paid homage to the classic 1981 film 'Clash of the Titans'. The event should be a great time. Check them out!
I'm not fully sure why but I just love that pig token art!
(also the elementals are cool but I like the Fire and Tree best)
Thanks! I'm working on more for my next Pauper event in April as well as a few specifically for EDH. I can't wait to show those off! In the mean time here are a few I recently finished up.
With Bitterblossom recently being unbanned in Modern now is a great time for show off the black faerie token I created last year but haven't released yet. It was conceived as a two-card design with the blue faerie that was released from the "PauperVault" last January.
This weekend I'll be hosting another of my Standard Pauper events. The Dragon and Swan tokens in the top row were created for it. Additionally I've been working on a few tokens specifically for Commander that I'm excited to show off for the first time.
//EDIT: Added another token I just completed. It could serve as a Gold token for Gild or as a random artifact treasure monster in case something like that ever gets printed in the future.
Is there any compilation of the tokens from MTGO? I'm looking for the tokens that don't exist in paper, but for which MTGO has versions and I don't know if the ones that can be found are from there or custom made.
Hey guys! I am having a hard time finding a full list of tokens that are officially printed. I know there are a lot that were not printed before, but any help at all finding a list of the printed tokens I would greatly appreciate it!
I have been collecting for a bit now, and I just want to see which ones I may be missing. Then after that I will start altering ones for all of the ones that wizards never printed
All the tokens in my signature have the official art from MTGO (or from better sources when available).
Thanks.
In the meanwhile I found the files from MTGO and confirmed it.
Also found some art I don´t think I've seen around before, is there a way to tell the card that makes the token from the file name?
Just checked your tokens, wow they are awesome. Any reason you gave all the tokens in a block the set symbol of the first set instead of set symbol for each set?
Hi! I just have a question with the official token art... Is the 2/1 haste Goblin token from Dissension "officially" using the same token art as the 1/1 Goblin in Ravnica?
It's possible. WotC has recycled token artwork in the past so it's not unprecedented. Back when the original Ravnica block was released they did not include tokens in the packs and I was unable to find any resembling an "official" goblin token with the Dissension expansion symbol on it. Closest thing I was able to find was St. Claus' post in this very thread.
2 things I noticed with St. Claus' token collection post that I think worth pointing out:
1. the white soldier token in Mirrodin quoted the wrong artist name.
2. the red warrior token in Kamigawa block should be 1/1, not 2/2.
Also, I noted there are more official token arts I can find from the old MTGO program folders. Would someone be kind enough to create tokens for those? I believe they are for Masters Edition's old cards reprint. I also have some old arts from a very old MTG computer games from Micropose and would also like to make some tokens from them, but I am having a hard time making expansion symbol in magic set editor so would appreciate someone's help. Many thanks!!! 6/3/2014 7:19:01 AM

Sorry.... it's not actually wrong, just that he use his fullname "Paolo Parente" on all mtg cards he painted..... no wonder I feel weird....
btw, may I ask if you can make the 2/1 haste goblin token in dissension using the same ravnica goblin arts? sorry about the trouble... i don't hv mtgo installed in this machine but i can go check later if they actually has another art for the 2/1 goblin......
StClaus:
I actually have been looking to gather the tokens from MTGO, especially those from before Invasion to the Masters Editions. If you happen to be able to make those tokens with the great quality of your other ones I would appreciate it immensely. I have checked MTGO for the art, artist and other relevant information, but I'm not really able to make tokens with the great quality of yours.
machinegungun:
He already has, check the link to the Ravnica tokens in his sig. It has the Ravnica set symbol instead of the Dissension one, but its perfect apart from that. It uses the same art.
It's time once again for another of my next local Standard Pauper events. I run these every quarter leading into each Prerelease & the winner gets featured in a future token of their choosing. This time around I worked with the previous event's winner to create a brand new Cat token to go with Brimaz, King of Oreskos. Additionally I created an Elephant token for all those fans (and victims) of Terastodon. Check them out!
The Prerelease is just around the corner and that means it's time for another of my local Standard Pauper events. This time out the winner from my previous event earned a custom designed playmat which features both of today's tokens as well as cameos from previous tokens and a few local players.

I had an imgur post a few months back that got a ton of hits ( the imgur url is fvBhq74 but I can't post the whole url because I'm new ) and reshares on Facebook. I still get PMs asking about the tokens and how they can get some.
I sent an email to Pusheen expressing my interest in making these Pusheen tokens for Magic players. The response I got back was:
'Hi Russell,
Thanks for getting in touch. They look awesome! Unfortunately we wouldn't be able to license Pusheen for use on cards without working with the company directly. You are welcome to continue to use them and share them with your friends though, on a non-commercial basis. Thanks again for sharing these with us. Have a great night!

I knew that Wizards has a reputation for being very conservative about IP, but I figured it doesn't hurt to ask. So I sent a request to Wizards, which was denied.
Then I thought that tokens don't need all of the IP that we typically see on them. Card type/subtyles are useful, and P/T are useful, but they're far from necessary. So I decided to re-do the tokens more in the spirit of the Pusheen design template. Some of the resulting tokens have been uploaded with this comment.
I re-contacted Pusheen, instead asking for licensing for making generic Pusheen cards. The cards could be used for Magic (or any other game), but they were more general than that and certainly didn't require Wizards' permission to make. Unfortunately, Pusheen stopped responding at that point. I didn't know if they have a spam filter that automatically spams repeat solicitors or what, but they haven't responded since.
I'm hesitant to even share templates for other people's use. Pusheen said it was okay to use the cards and "share with friends", but I don't think that's what they meant. Considering the original imgur post got over 60,000 views and over 1,000 Facebook re-shares, I figured there was enough interest in the community. I'm just not sure how to translate that into physical tokens with Pusheen's blessing.
