Been way too busy with work lately. Now I've been able to get some time for myself
Work in Progress. Teysa Karlov.
Been very inspired by Karla Ortiz's rendtition of the character when I first saw it! Her art's one of the main reasons why I can't wait to start playing again!
I was having a hard time trying to come up with a face. Then, I stumbled upon Marc Hom's photo of Sienna Miller.
In some way, your style reminds me a lot of Donato Giancola's artwork, wich happened to be my very first favourite cardgame artist during the 90's -LOTR, the first card game, then MtG- (I've always admired his hyperrealystic characters; the way he used to catch human gestures, and his very accurate use of the human proportions.)
Please, please, please do an Urza/Mishra piece. I will give you my firstborn son and part of my soul.
Your work is terrific, I'd love to see some old school storyline given some artistic background.

Actually, I am looking for ideas for an old school theme! I grew up in the early days of Magic so the earlier sets mean a lot to me. Thanks for the suggestion!
i am speechless.. again.. it seems that akroma has gone to ravnica.. and this would be the most wrathful Akroma around i believe if she is angel of wrath this should be the way it is portrayed!! well done!!!
Would you be interested in taking a commission on a playmat-ready version of your Teysa?
So sorry for the ultra late reply. I haven't been able to check this thread since! As for your inquiry, I'm not sure if I can take on any commissions right now. Really sorry for that
A friend gave me the idea of painting an image with the whole Weatherlight crew in it. Perhaps I'll make that my next project!
I'm really looking forward to seeing this one. Oh, maybe have them facing off against some of their rogues gallery?
Thank you very much for the compliments! And I will keep that idea in mind. My plan was to make the whole crew looking out to the sky as they sail away in Skyship Weatherlight
Your painting of Jeska is amazing! I ran into it accidentally while googling for images of my favorite oldschool planeswalkers (yes, Jeska's one of them) and I honestly thought I was looking at leaked artwork commissioned for a future Jeska planeswalker card until I read your description. It really is that good.
There are many great pieces of artwork produced by Magic fans on this website and all over the internet but only a handful of them are so good they rival the works of Magic's best illustrators. This piece did it. I salute you, sir!
Are you going to paint more older fan-favorite characters? I'd love to see your take on Serra.
Oh man I'm so honored you think so! Thank you so much for the kind words! I am planning to paint more older characters! Apart from the entire Weatherlight crew, I do plan on painting Serra Angel based on Douglas Schuler's original art. But painting Serra herself seems like a fantastic idea!

Decided to start from there. Focused on the face and roughly blocked out the other parts.

Please, keep these comming, Sir.
Finally got around to finishing my Teysa painting after so long.

Liliana of the Veil is my all time favorite Planeswalker. Because I cannot afford a playset, or even a few copies, I made an artwork of her instead.
This is still a work in progress. Will be coloring this after I make all the necessary corrections
Pose, zombies, and background stock photos are from deviantart. I'll make the full credits once the piece is completed.
Here they are:
I left her stomach belts out in honor of Enthralling Victor haha.
