I've sometimes wondered why threads started on mtgs by addbots make little sense? I thought that the point is to advertise something but then the post the bot makes is almost completely nonsense.
Basically, if you're going to scam someone, you have to invest some amount of time and work into getting money from them. Every time you try to scam someone and it doesn't work out, you've lost that time and work. So, you only want to snag the most gullible people out there, and you make your spam such that everyone else can tell it's a scam.
They are almost always SEO bots - they are trying to tie certain keywords to URLs to influence Google's pagerank system. They aren't meant for humans to read or care.
