A friend of mine sent me the above link saying television is some demonic influence on the public.
I told him, after reading, that the whole thing smacked of fear mongering. I checked the links they have, and the supporting evidence seems rather dubious. In short, cockamamie.
What do you guys think?

I welcome you.....to the pure world I have forged.
I mean I know there is a downside to excessive television watching, and even questionable to substitute it for a babysitter. But some of this sounds crazy.

There's also illuminati conspiracy theorist jargon in this list.
I'd say that if your friend believes this entire list and the line of thought that media is "demonic brainwashing" then he's either been mislead or has some real problems with reality.

Yeah this seems like nonsense. I think the reality here is that exposure to different points of view helps prevent indoctrination or single-mindedness.
I used to watch TV a lot when I was young, but now I don't. its all crap shows now, only a chosen few interest me ( Asia food channel, Sports, Iron chef) and the rest is a waste of time and electricity. The shows right now are brainwashing non-sense.
me and my fiancé would regularly go to the movie house though if there is a new... Marvel movie, DC movie, Lucas films, and the likes.
The worst thing you can ever do is surrender your analytical capabilities and simply listen to someone else's analysis.
Maybe this is something that has come easier for me as I am at my mid 30s, but every time I read an article with someone else's analysis, I always think "where are they in life?"
Does the article sound like it was written by an uneducated 23 year old? An educated 29 year old? A cynical 50 year old? Whoever it is, I don't give the benefit to the author by assigning the status of all knowing, global illuminati, conspiracy mastermind, infinitely shrewd, genius wanting to exert demonic influence upon helpless minds. The person analyzing whether or not TV is a demonic influence is a common ordinary person, sitting behind the computer writing random crap. They eat and defecate, and need money like you. They worry about jobs, about the landlord *****ing at them for having the rent late, about getting towed when they park in the city. They burn the toast, run out of toilet paper, get asked by Safeway employees whether or not they want to sign up for the safeway card to save money. They take out the trash and get rotten gunk on their hands while doing so. Their web browsers pop-up numerous junk ads when they click on the wrong links. They get viagra emails. They forget passwords and have to wait on customer support to elevator music.
So no, TV is not a demonic force. And whoever tries to push it probably needs some money because life is expensive, and clicks are a means of side revenue.
And if TV is in fact trying to influence your thoughts, it's not some global illuminati puppet master sitting behind cackling at how it's only a matter of time before humanity is under his control.
It's Jack Beleren, the new intern with a college degree chasing his boss down for coffee, trying to figure out what to write for his TV program because the TPS reports on due on monday, and he still needs 5 more pages by midnight, and his college level "influence" on your brain is something anyone with a decent education can simply say "this is just trash" and turn off the TV.
Dont make mountains out of molehills.
Don't make up phantoms in your mind to fight.
By the time you're on your way to 40, you'll be asking "what the hell does this guy know that hasn't already crossed my mind at least once"

Yeah, he also sent me this little gem. I'm not entirely sure of what to make of this one though.

I don't want to believe it, even some of the data is suspect, but I don't know.

I don't think watching Iron Chef is distorting my thought processes.
