Anybody else a watch lover here? I myself have to stop at a watch store and drool on at least one case whenever I'm at a mall. Post up your watches and/or your dream watch.
I currently have 3 in my collection (not that many and none of them are that expensive, but I'm working on it :D). I really really want an Omega Speedmaster, but that ain't happening any time soon!
That Edifice looks a bit like my Bulova. I forget its name now... (Nautica? Nautilus somethin?)
It hasn't worked for a long time and I can't get anyone to work on it.
Everyone tells me it needs to get shipped back to Bulova for service. In Italy.
I'm not an enthusiast by any means, but I can enjoy a nice time piece when I see one.
I like Brietling and Tag Huer, but one that caught my eye recently is the Tissot T-Race MotoGP. Nice.
I do like yours as well, the Edifice and Nighthawk more so than the Calibre, but all are nice.

If I had a dollar for every time I missed playing a Counterspell ...
I'd be missing my Mana Drain s instead.
I am somewhat pragmatic with watches and can be found wearing the watches below.
Frankly, I am ambivalent over watches. One part of me knows that they still matter and are indicators of something or other (wealth, class, sophistication, style, fashion); another part wants no part of many things, including, though not necessarily, conspicuous consumption or makes me so pig-headed about being 'pragmatic'.
Needless to say, my parents, thinking that I do not appreciate it, are disappointed that I do not wear a watch they bought me as graduation gift. (It is not even a luxury item; in fact, it is a specialist watch. :weird:)
On another note, although now that everyone has a phone and can use it to check the time, I still rely on my watch a lot. It's like a tic.
Mickey, the Tissot Moto GP watches are nice and I have had my eye on them as well. Do you like the yellow or blue one?
9909, although I can be caught wearing a watch for the sake of it looking good, I generally wear them at work or other events when time is important (like at an mtg event). So much easier to turn your wrist a bit to see the time than pulling your cellphone out of your pocket. I like the third watch you have there, I need one with a leather strap as the metal bracelets are quite heavy (which matters when you are typing a lot, not to mention that the metal gets scratched).
Ive never understood the draw of those kinds of watches. They seem... impractical? Excessive? Maybe a bit gaudy. I've got the pebble steel right now and I appreciate the understated design and basic geometry.

For sure, watches aren't for everyone. They can be a bit excessive or overly flashy, but for someone like me who wears jeans and a t-shirt they add some much needed style. The pebble is a cool watch and I could see myself getting version 2 or 3 once some more functionality has been added.
I dunno, a lot of things we have these days could be called excessive. Like 5 inch cell phones that don't even fit in your pockets (especially when sitting down).

Indeed, it is easier to check the time on your watch than on your phone. For potentially crazy reasons, I like watches at my former (as well as any) workplace; though I take precautions and measures to keep my phone and person clean, I don't like taking avoidable risks and needlessly increasing the risk of making my phone 'icky' and transferring that 'ickiness' to the side of my face. This is probably telling of something.

Well, there are thin, light metal bands/straps/bracelets, though perhaps that isn't very masculine?
I'm an admirer of fine time pieces, unfortunately I don't own one yet. I'm partial to the Omega Planet Ocean Liquidmetal titanium 45.5mm chronograph with the blue rubber strap for every day wear, this is also the first watch I plan on acquiring since it is relatively "affordable" with my new job. Eventually, however, I would like to acquire a Patek Phillippe, something classy and understated made from rose/red gold with a brown alligator strap. It will be nice to hand down a fine watch to my son or grandson someday.

You've got some good taste in watches sir. It would take me a few years to save up for that Omega...the Patek, well that would require me to sell my self on a corner. You might like one of my dream watches, the Rolex Submariner with a Blue/gold face and dial with gold in the middle of the bracelet. Just gorgeous.

The Submariner is the first watch I fell in love with, the Planet Ocean just surpasses any submariner I've seen imo. I still really like Rolex design and craftsmanship, the Cosmograph Daytona is a sweet piece it definitely rivals the Omega Ceragold, which I would love to own but the cost is in Patek range and I would rather have on of those.
I'm quite a collector myself but my wife and I normally save for a while and get something very nice.
what I'm currently wearing on rotation:
Rolex Submariner-Date model 16610 on leather nato strap
Tissot PRC-200 on black leather
Breitling Navitimer World (white face) on brown leather
IWC Portuguese Automatic Chrono on brown leather
