I was driven from this once-great site by abusive mods and admins, who create rules out of thin air to punish people for breaking them (meaning the rule does not exist under forum rules) and selectively enforce the rules that are written on the forum rules. I am currently lurking while deleting 6 years and 2 months of posting history. I will return when ExpiredRascals, Teia Rabishu and Blinking Spirit are no longer in power.
While funny, its also makes a person memorable. The next time the guy speeds/runs red light/whatever he did, he's unlikely to talk the nice policeman out of it.

The picture's hilarious. I'm not sure I'd have the courage to pull that type of prank with the police, but considering they thought it was funny too I think he got lucky.

Is there some law against paying in folded dollar bills?
Must there be a law for one to do something or to not do something? Legally, there's essentially obligated to accept the money; but, as they see it, they're not going to accept it when legal tender is folded up. Who the hell would take the time to unfold those notes.

Good sense of humour, eh?
If this were something smart, I'd say that this guy has some cojones; but, it's not really that smart, eh. I guess it could've been worse or received poorly by the coppers.
Perhaps it is like the only ticket I've ever gotten in my life - a ticket for doing 68 in a 65 by an Ohio Highway Patrol officer in a 10-15 mile long speed trap where they were pulling over any and all out-of-state vehicles doing even 1 MPH over the speed limit (and letting in-state cars go unless they were grossly over the speed limit). Just a money grab by the local government.
Interesting, I thought the 7mph rule was allowed everywhere? (At least if you want to debate the ticket)
In case you're not familiar, there's a certain range of which they're allowed to request a repair - and for all the states I'm familiar with (full East Coast) if you debate it and it's within 7 mph they'll just drop the ticket - if it's beyond that and you debate it, they'll give you a repair order and a ticket though. [Although in MOST of the states you'll get the ticket reversed after you provide proof of repair]
Well he could have paid in 63 $2 dollar bills and 100 pennies. Of course they might not have known what a $2 bill was though. Paying a disputed bill in $2 bills got one guy arrested at a Best Buy because nobody in the store recognized $2 bills as legal tender. http://www.wnd.com/2005/04/29732/
Ohio's Highway Patrol is just like that. I think they hate out-of-staters because they are fortunate enough to not live in Ohio. But I've learned my lesson, I set cruise control for 64 as soon as I cross the state line.
They don't hate out-of-staters; they are just smart. They know that someone from out of state is much less likely to show up to contest the ticket.

Isn't it clear enough?
