It's not just the last few episodes. She was fawning over "the Clairvoyant" all through season one.
Or, she was until she learned he didn't actually have any powers (also at that point she never was nearly as panicked as she has been these last few episodes).

Which is kind of B_S's point. She wants to find the biggest bad around and help them. Her own goals are mostly survival which is not that interesting from an antagonist since it means making them weak, which isn't a good place for an antagonist to be.
I don't think she has any powers, but she is damn good at playing the game
have to agree with blinky here, Rena as acting goes was pretty good but as a character she just isn't interesting for you to care let alone hate.
i could see her being develop with actual dark nefarious plans but as of yet she just look like agent mulder without the conviction to take charge, and isn't a comic relief or patsy character either.
normally characters like Rena wouldn't even have a name

I think it's almost the fact that she's even still around at this point that makes me feel like there has to be SOMETHING about her that we're not getting.
Seeing as I watched all the episodes in bulk btw, when does the next one come out?

is it just me or does the show starting to feel like they are setting it up for ultron and civil war?
Considering Civil War is two years out that seems a little unlikely. I could see it for Ultron though, which will be coming out around the end of the season.

They are in the very unusual position (as far as TV writers are concerned) of knowing what's going to happen two years out. It doesn't strike me as implausible that they could be laying a little bit of the groundwork this early. Babylon 5 had multi-year payoffs.

Edit for great justice: I think this season's big reveal isn't the Ward family values debacle but that the FitzSimmons power duo are both LGBT. Fitz's subconscious finds Mack attractive and he acknowledged it. So I think he is bi because his feelings for Simmons are painfully genuine. At first I was willing to believe that Simmons was really into Tripp last season but the more I think about it, the more that makes no sense. Tripp is an assertive, alpha male kind of guy who wouldn't play coy about liking Simmons and so if he actually had a shot with her I think they would be together. I think Tripp and Simmons get along so well because the air is clear between them and thus there is no romantic tension. IMO there is no basis for Simmons being straight or bi because there has never been any indication of interest in guys other than professional, familial, or friendship.
How could Fitz and Simmons both be LGBT and not know about the other? As a member of the LGBT community I can tell you that you truly never know how people will react when they know. People who seem really cool will display shocking amounts of bigotry and ignorance. Quite recently I was in a situation with a co-worker where we worked together for about 6 months before we knew the other was LGBT. We worked with kids and that industry is very unkind to LGBT people in some settings. No matter how professional you think your co-workers are it's just smart to give people as little as possible to judge you about.

Your logic seems to be overlooking the possibility that Tripp isn't attracted to Simmons. Or maybe he's just a bit more reserved than you're giving him credit for. In any case, getting from what we've seen to "Simmons is lesbian" is a huuuuge leap. Especially since Simmons doesn't just get gooey and distracted around Tripp - she is also very obviously attracted to Mike Peterson. (She seems to have a type...)

They're always going to tread on eggshells there, though, because frankly, if played faithfully to the comics, "that part of the mythos" is pretty darn racist.
Just finished watching this week's episode. I won't give anything away for those who haven't seen it, but this episode certainly makes me think we'll be seeing the Inhumans showing up at some point before end of season.
On that note, the episode itself wasn't great IMHO. The reveal itself was pretty good, the stuff with Ward was too, but the rest fell flat for me. I found Skye particularly annoying this episode and wondering how it is that she seems to suddenly be second in command (despite holding the lowest rank and being the least experienced person in the entire group) and Coulson's best friend all of a sudden. They need to be careful not to force her character so much that it makes the audience hate her, it may already be too late.

The Mandarin twist in IM3 was a money grab. By making The Mandarin not the traditional Mandarin they were able to market the film in China. No way would the censors have let it through if there had been any negative stereotypes or anti-China rhetoric. I agree that the past Mandarin is a reactionary piece of racist drivel but he was created at the height of the Red/Yellow Scare and Marvel thought it was okay for a Russian to be IM2's bad guy. If the Mandarin is racist then the Whiplash/Crimson Dynamo character is also racist.
As for this week's episode...I feel like it was kinda phoned in. Pretty much everyone who has access to the internet knows Marvel is doing an Inhumans movie and ever since the first episode a lot of people have assumed Skye is an Inhuman and that AoS will be Marvel's delivery vehicle for lore. I just feel like more interesting stories could be told, especially with the bigger cast and thus wider array of skills and personalities. Ward is the most interesting character right now and I hope to Foom that he doesn't try the whole redemption thing. He needs to die in a blaze of glory or live a life on the edge(and be the show's recurring anti-hero). Hunter isn't mean enough for the job and Skye doesn't have enough real rebellion inside of her.
My favorite part of the episode was when Mack made Fitz sit down and play Halo with him. I get the impression that Fitz hasn't had many friends in his life and certainly not many guy friends. At first I thought Simmons made a mistake by leaving Fitz but now I see that they needed the time apart to grow up a little more and learn what they can become, both inside and outside of S.H.I.E.L.D..

got to agree here, this has got to be one of the best scene from this season so far especially shows Fitz slight recovery from his brain by actually being able to communicate coherently.
and well the map really took me off guard, i always thought it was a 3D star map at the end of the first season not that.

I don't know that I would agree with that. In IM2 Vanko's grudge against Stark is a personal one. He's obviously Russian, but... I don't know haven't seen the movie in a long time (because I didn't think it was very good) but I don't remember his Russian-ness being played up as something to be afraid of, just part of his background. It's not the fact that he is Russian or The Mandarin is Chinese that makes it racist or not IMHO, it's how that is used to create the character.
The Mandarin as a character is, essentially, fetish material.
Although I ******* adored Iron Man Armored Avengers portrayal. It was amazing.
i do like IMAA (not counting the animation, i seriously don't get why studios like to used that cell shaded animation style on organic life when it always comes out awkward)
but... the Mandarin portrayal was a bit too much of a cookie cutter shonenish antagonist which got sideline which only get pops out to show that "hey i'm still relevant to the story", and when he got interesting the show got canned.
i know the target audiance isn't hard-core iron-man fans and the objective is to sell merchandise but marvel animated division could take a cue from WB and the DC animation, hack they could even take reference from their 90's animated series and produce contained stories that branched out with different sub plots.
which i would like to point out that Agents has been doing a good job of (unlike the first half of season 1 which feels like a creature feature of the week).
finally i would post my wish for the series. since they are confirming to explore the mysitical side of the Marvel universe Agents might be a good place to introduce iron fist, hell even heroes for hire for i care.

It's pretty well known that IM2's Whiplash is actually a fusion of two character named Anton Vanko. One being the current incarnation of Whiplash and the other being a 1960's Soviet/KGB controlled character called The Crimson Dynamo. The Crimson Dynamo element of the story was altered though so that the defector was Vanko's father, Ivan Vanko. It would have been simple to ignore the association with the earlier character because the newer Anton Vanko was well established and no one would be scratching their head about some 1960's relic of the Red Scare.
As a result of that poor taste...Anton Vanko will be appearing on Agent Carter! I don't know any more than that but I think he will be a very young boy.
Meh. I was expecting the lost city to look a lot more interesting.
The real high point of the episode was Skye gunning down Ward.
But TV Show budget, B_S. They had a lot of effects this episode which probably at the whole budget... plus this had to look like an abandoned Inhuman city, because Attilan will obviously have to wait for the Inhumans movie.
So much for a fanboy to love in this one.
In any case, a few things:
Calvin Zabo (Mr. Hyde) and Daisy Johnson! For those of you unfamiliar, Calvin Zabo is a supervillain named Mr. Hyde in the comics. Essentially he parallels the Bruce Banner, if Bruce Banner was an amoral sociopath. Zabo turns himself into Mr. Hyde (after the story) using a formula he created trying to replicate the Hulk.
Daisy Johnson is his illegitimate daughter, who has Sonic/Vibrational powers. Her codename is Quake, and she was at one point Director of Shield, as she was a protege of Nick Fury while SHIELD was in Turmoil. She isn't an Inhuman in the comics, but I think this is a good twist (and one they might move over to the comic). I was fully expecting them to drag this out over the entire season, so I'm glad it was resolved now.
Terrigenesis! I liked that the 'Diviner' was actually a container for Terrigen Crystals.
Anyone have any ideas on who Raina is? They teased her transformation as being less flattering than Daisy/Skye's, but I'm wondering how much so?
And who was the blind guy at the end?
Also, poor Tripp. Such an stupid way to die.
Skye shooting Ward was definitely the highlight of the episode though. So great.
I wouldn't say this show is must watch television yet, but it has been steadily getting better for a while. And such a large cast of recurring characters means that people really can die at any time (with the obvious exception of the core team).
But TV Show budget, B_S. They had a lot of effects this episode which probably at the whole budget... plus this had to look like an abandoned Inhuman city, because Attilan will obviously have to wait for the Inhumans movie.
I understand why it happened. But a TV show needs to plan for these sorts of things so it doesn't write checks it can't cash. Even the holographic projection of the map made the city look really alien and cool. And it's not like shows can't pull this sort of thing off. Stargate SG-1 managed to have the team running around abandoned ruins for ten years and it almost always looked better than this. They were actually shooting in Puerto Rico, which is cool, but maybe not the best decision given their needs here.
Also, characters seemed to be acting dumb to drive the plot forward, a sin this show normally avoids and subverts with positive glee. There were a couple of its characteristic smarter-than-the-plot moments, like the early exchange between Hunter and Mockingbird and of course the Ward thing, but in the third act, well...
