Ehh, Bebop is largely sliced of life in its presentation. Take out the Plot and it's a story of these people having weird single serving stories while they come to grow closer together. Bebop has a heartbeat of rough misgivings that lends a sense of realism not unlike old star wars or firefly.
Like F said, iniyasha is generic shonen stretched forever
It's only overrated because it was many people's first taste of good non shonen anime. We all love our darlings
Bebop is definitely overrated. There's alot of flash and style, some interesting looking characters.
The actual storyline was mediocre and went nowhere.
Bebop was great though because it had great characters, great music, and just a great feel or pace to it. Overall the plot wasn't much and it was a bit of a slice of life but it was great at what it did. It was a giant of its time which makes it somewhat nostalgic for some who got into anime around that time.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
What music you like is subjective, there might even be music you can hate and you don't understand why people like it. My point is that you can tell when effort has been put into music. The music in Avatar, for example, is a lot better in Korra (and the Aang finale) because they go full on orchestra instead of generic synthesizer rock stuff.
Even if someone detests saxes, jazz, etc, they can still tell that Bebop had quality music instead of, say, the generic stuff used in most shonens or whatever.
Are you, like, deliberately not getting the point?
There is a difference between liking music and recognizing that its put together well. That there could be *****ty jazz or great synth is irrelevant to the fact that most anime music is generic synth. That there is jazz at all shows a marked choice on Bebops team. That much care was placed on there is great.
I don't like plenty of music. I can still recognize that its put together well. I'm not exactly going to go rock out to Bach anytime soon, but I'm not going to conflate my personal taste for music with the quality of the production.
I have surprisingly been enjoying more of the classical music based animes of late. Its odd as classical music isn't something I have ever really been into but for some reason I find them pulling me in more of late. Its sort of an odd thing but I have really been eating them up whenever I come across them.
I actually found myself making a Chopin pandora station earlier today lol.

Music from animes, often underrated and still, this is what brings the most out from the anime. If Dog Days didn't have a good soundtrack and a somewhat good story, it would only be good for fanservice. Fact is, music in animes is there to bring out the crucial points of the story, make you cling to that cliff hanger at the end of the episode, get nervous of the outcome at the end of a battle scene or even make you laugh more at a comical reprieve. Some of the best soundtracks I've heard are TRC, Akatsuki no Yona, Allison to Lillia and a few more. I've been listening to anime music for a few years already. I can actually tell the quality in the sound. Kind of what gave me back my emotions after having been under ritalin for a few years. A good soundtrack can make you cry. Or any other good soung as I've found out trought time.

Casual crazy magic player, otaku maniac, unrully cosplayer, what did you expect me to be?
I finally got around to watching Ace of Diamond. I started this weekend and am like 40 episodes in lol so clearly that is going well.
I find it generally fairly good. I will admit though that I am more of a fan of Hajime no Ippo. I have always liked boxing and martial arts though so its no surprise that its my preference of the two but still, Ace of Diamond is a good underdog sort of show.

Oh, Fighting Spirit! Lol. I've watched a ton of that show. My 1 roommate has a bunch of volumes on DVD, but there's a ton of them, and they get really expensive. That show is awesome. I'm a huge boxing/ martial arts fan, and a huge slice of life fan, so that show hits a soft spot for me.
What'd you guys think of Steins;Gate? I think that might be one of the most enthralling anime i've seen in the past few years. I just couldn't stop watching it.
I also recently picked up a New Captain Tsubasa boxset from my local gamestore, Gamerz Haven. Pretty rough subs but the show is actually really cool. Basically Fighting Spirit/ Ace of Diamonds, but with Soccer.

Not just the Tendo King, the power of the Galactic Leyline surpasses that of the Tempa Emperor, No!, It's magnificent power is even greater than that!
Steins Gate was good, its been a while now since I saw it but it was good because it was so unique and odd. I might have to re watch it to be honest, I think its one of those animes that might be better to sit down and watch over a shorter timeframe rather than one episode a week as the continued mood and feel of it probably feels differently when you are getting more than 20 minutes a week.
I also want to go back and re watch delivery god yato. It was probably my favorite show when it was airing. It was sort of amusing knowing he was a complete bad ass who just decided he would rather be an idiot.

Hajime no Ippo is far too long for my liking, but whatever floats your boat. I would also argue that Fullmetal Alchemist isn't overrated, Brotherhood is one of the best adaptations of all time. It's got a lot of hype, but it's also one of the most popular and successful anime/manga in recent memory, and bled into other markets very successfully as well. Shounen isn't a good barometer anyway, because WSJ has had plenty of things that you wouldn't think of as shounen that young japanese boys read. I also really love the manga for One Piece, but the anime adaptation is awful, and Magi has a super impressive adaptation, but the manga itself has some problems, especially in more recent chapters. I'm interested to see if the anime can pace it better.
I've started watching World Trigger after that one guy said it was terrible and I'm really digging it. Looks like they are conserving the animation budget for when things matter although there were a couple moments of "phone psychic making funny noises to prolong a call" kind of nonsense in one of the headquarters sections where people just kept making eye contact during a deliberation.
I still can't quite figure out what the 3 lines eye thing is supposed to be, so I've been treating it as Kuga trying to become become blank and expressionless, but then standing out.
Oh, and when he tells the Agent in episode 8 or so "you say the funniest lies" I about lost it. This show is a gem and I'm enjoying it

Cartoon network still shows that, right?
