The Pulp Fiction episode was alright; but I'm slightly annoyed that Community episodes seem to keep occurring in a few, mundane settings lately. For example, this week's episode took place completely in two restaurants and Jeff and Abed were sitting for most of the episode.
As a side note, I think I like Jeff's old hairdo better than his new one. His new one makes him seem to have such a damp, sullen persona...
I got the DVD last night. It's a good show, kind of like a cross between Scrubs, the Norm Show and Undeclared...with maybe a touch of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I have a feeling I'll like it more as I watch it more. Also interesting that none of the characters are consistently likeable or agreeable (much like "It's Always Sunny").
Community is the best comedy on television, bar none.
The clip show episode literally almost killed me from inability to breathe because of how much I was laughing. It also didn't help that I didn't have the commercial breaks to take a breather.
And even the last episode was great, even though it was a bottle. It was touching, whilst hilarious at the same time.
"If I do go to heaven, I'll smack god across the face and tell him to get me a grilled-cheeses sandwhich and then say 'Yea what now god!? Say some'in! I dare you!' "
That is exactly how I feel about Community. As a sci-fi show, it's awesome. As a comedy show that pretends to happen on planet Earth, it's impossibly annoying just because of Abed. He makes it sci-fi because he's unbearable if he's supposed to be a human being. He is the most unbelievable character I've ever seen, and makes Bones, House and Sheldon Cooper look like everyday simple folk. He's what makes me hate the show, but as soon as I consider it to be some genres where things are different, it suddenly becomes one of the greatest shows on TV right now.
Holy ☺☺☺☺, Community is going out with a bang. A Fist Full of Paintballs part 1 was incredible and I am looking forward to part II next week.
I thought it was rather lazy and uncreative of the writers to reuse a plot and extend it into a two parter. It made it feel like as if I was watching a double re-run.
Of course, the original paintball episode was good but I don't feel good enough to repeat and extend. -.-
I loved this season, and I'm glad they are kind of "wrapping up" the "Pierce is a villain" stuff. I was getting a little tired of that.
And I was a bit leery of the "rehashing" of Paintball... but honestly I think it felt pretty fresh. Making it a story about Annie made it a bit more interesting, and the Fort Hawthorne thing was really cute.
And even the last episode was great, even though it was a bottle. It was touching, whilst hilarious at the same time.
The one where SPOILER! Shirley gives birth? That had the best piece of comedy at the expense of the ultra-liberals I have ever seen. A joke that still has me rolling on the floor just thinking about it. The dean, referring to other cultures as "EQUAL!!! Wait, no... BETTER than white!" that joke alone basically redeemed the show for me and turned me back into a fan.

Honestly the only similarity between the the Call Of Duty episode and this last one was the presence of paintballs and the initial setup. The Modern Warefare episode from last season was totally focused on the whole paintball setup while this last episode actually felt like a western. From the introductions for all the characters down to way that they were speaking was all in theme. Yes they used paintball in the past but the last episode was night and day from the previous paintball use in the show.
If all they did was make Modern Warfare 2.0 I would be with you on your evaluation. But I think they went above and beyond...the call of duty.
Community is definitely hilarious, and I'm glad that they seem to be toning back Ken Jeong's involvement. I just don't find him to be that funny.
I'm not sure it's my favorite comedy, though. I'm a big fan of Outsourced(similar humor tone). I've recently watched all of The Big Bang Theory, and it's possible that it is my favorite comedy ever(except for South Park, which doesn't count).
I like the re-use of the Paintball episode. The last one was great, and they've paid just the right amount of homage to it, while still managing to make an original episode out of this finale.
I will definitely be posting here more often once season 3 starts. It was by far my favourite comedy series through season 1, but Parks and Recreation is creeping up pretty close.
The ending to the last season I felt was spot on, and was extremely similar to the mid-season finale of South Park. I like comedy shows using a technique that often pisses off people when it is used in more serious entertainment.
Awesome teacher haha. Did you know that Abed wasn't kidding when he was talking about being in the background of a CougarTown scene? check it out on youtube.

So have you guys still been watching the show? I've had a lot of trouble keeping up with one of the only shows I find worth my time to keep up with, but the episodes I have caught recently have been good.

"Virtue, Jacques, is an excellent thing. Both good people and wicked people speak highly of it..."
but Parks and Recreation is creeping up pretty close.
Thank you! The main reason I've been hating Community (again, also how basically the Halloween episode pretty much ended in the preachy "HAY GUIZE ABED IS THE ONLY THING THAT'S NORMAL IN THE WORLD AND IF YOU'RE LIKE ANY OTHER CHARACTER YOU'RE CRAZY" tone I used to hate about the show) is how people keep ignoring other equally awesome shows like Parks & Rec (even if it has better ratings, I mean critically) which is getting even better than Community can hope to be. I guess it keeps pissing me off how the talents keep being wasted (a difficulty of maintaining seven interesting main characters simultaneously) and storylines keep getting meh and conservative when the show KNOWS it could be going so many daring places. For example, the timeline episode... why can't they do something on that level of awesome more often?

Pretty interesting that the show actually received better reviews in its second season though.
Feel free to bid on my cards here!

This show gets MUCH better with repeated viewings. I was not truly a fan until I watched season one straight through twice.

Oh man I just shat bricks... then was a bit less surprised when I realized this happened across different episodes.
