So I'm going to suggest that in the future perhaps we don't want to allow QBs at the flex slot if we're going to do 14+ teams. As it stands right now, there are literally zero QBs on waivers who will be starting in week 1, and there are probably only a couple at best that will play the entire season. A lot of teams have backup QBs on their rosters because there is such a lack of QBs. The problem is that with 14 teams, most people will want to start 2 QBs (since they are far more consistent at putting up ~15 points per week), which means 28 out of the 32 starting QBs in the league are immediately being used. When you factor in bye weeks and such, there aren't even enough viable QBs for every team to have 2. I'm pretty happy with my top 2 QBs (Cam Newton and Tom Brady), but if one of them were to get injured I would be in big trouble since my other QB is Matt Schaub, who isn't going to start for the Raiders and may not play at all if Derek Carr has any success. I know that you can put a RB or WR at the OP spot as well, but doing so drastically reduces your consistency.

there wont be a future. This is it.It will be my last season hosting them and my last 6 months on MTGS. All this was thrown together last minute.
We've gone from 3-4 full leagues every year to struggling to fill one. All the old participants have moved on from MTGS and the new Curse hosted site has rendered then entire entertainment section a ghost town
Well, week one is in the books. How are we feeling about our real teams and our fake teams?
I'm pleased with how I drafted my fake team and disgusted with my real team. Andre Ellington gave me a bit of a scare, but The Danger pulled through. Good game, MM.
The Chiefs, however, looked absolutely awful and didn't seem to understand who their best player is. Seven touches for Jamaal Charles is about 1/4 of what he should be getting. Combine that with season ending injuries to Mike DeVito at DE and one of the most underrated MLBs in the NFL Derrick Johnson, it was a pretty crappy Sunday.
There seems to be a pretty significant shift of "power" as far as FF goes - no longer is a top5 RB assured to get his 20 points (or even 10 or 5 points for that matter) and if your QB1 isn't throwing for 250 and 2 scores, you're so far behind you need both of your WRs to have a major day to make it close. (which I can almost guarantee they won't) Getting 100 points used to be a sign you had a great team - now getting less than 100 means you had a major ****up. Those who win are the people who stalk the league news 24/7 and snag someone off waivers the second news breaks of the player in front of them getting scratched, because 80% of the people who are actually drafted will be better served on the bench for most of the season.
As for my FF campaign, I'm 0-2 thanks to massive overprojections across the board. I was in a second league, but the commish dissolved my team after last week's loss (apparently if your opponent leaves 105 points on the bench and still wins, you deliberately were trying to lose and the league is better off without you.)

In all honesty, it was a safe pick for a very good defense. The guy he is likely replacing is 34 years old and has shown that he has lost a touch of speed. All those combine for a very nice pick.
I doubt this may work, but is there any interest in doing a league this year? I so far have myself and one other person and im willing to host the league. I really want to do this as FF is still fun to me....
If you're willing to host, you can definitely count me in!
I know I haven't posted anything in awhile, but I still lurk and visit this site every morning after work.

(about the English language) It's kinda like a raft that was cobbled together from parts of three different boats and since then has been kept barely afloat with crude repairs every time a leak appeared.
I could be convinced to try FF again, I can't do worse than last year, getting thrown out of my money league week 2.

Well, thats a tenetive 4 people down. Want at least a 10 man league as I find that number to be a nice balance between value on the wire and yet still having to make tough choices.
Also, if we do this, im considering doing a Non-QB flex slot. This does however seem to make WR/RB a little bit more stretched. Thoughts?

I agree: 10 is the optimal number, but no more than 12.
I also agree with the non-QB flex slot. Obviously I deal with it, but being able to start two QBs just doesn't seem "legit" to me.

Assuming this does happen, PPR? Im thinking .5 was a nice compromise as it allows some players to be better without making it completely focused on highly targetted guys (As in low YPC, high REC guys).
.5 ppr seems fair from my experience, and I agree wholeheartedly about having a non-QB flex spot available - too often this past year your QB is what gets you masses of points, not your RBs. getting two just makes things too swingy.

It also allows some mitigation of bad luck. Yes, if you lose Brady/Peyton/Big Ben/Luck for the season/a few weeks, you at least have a chance at a somewhat decent QB, so you arent necessarily starting a D-tier QB.
Apologies for the double post, but currently we have 6 people with a potential for 7 or 8. Ideally, we are looking for 2 more no matter what for the league.
.5 ppr just means that pass-catching backs get bumped up a little bit. So someone like a Reggie Bush or Forsett will be a little better. I see it as a way of making sure that just because you have a back on a pass oriented team, that you can still play them and know that they will contribute more points. At the same time, its not 1 ppr, which I have found to warp the scoring a little too much.
So, unless I suck at math (Im not a Steelers fan, so thats less likely), that should be 8. I still want 10, but 8 can work.... just means more concentrated goodness.
So far its: .5 ppr and no QB Flex (WR/TE/RB are still options). Sound good to everyone or anymore things you wanna ask? I was always planning on drafting the last weekend of August so that we get the perverbial preseason injuries known.

I think that pm'ing me so that I dont forget (which im liable to do sometimes) would be best.
Also, anyone have any issue with a draft time of 8pm US Eastern Time on the 29th?
On a side note, im considering one more change that I've been convinced about for a little while now: Fractional D/ST scoring. If memory serves, its around 1 point on average off standard scoring, but is more representitive of how well the D/ST and not on how 99 yards is X points and 100 yards is X-2 automatically. Here is a link to what it would look like (only look at D/ST): https://i.imgur.com/GszjJfE.png
