That USA game was the best soccer/futból match I've seen. USA wasn't expected to advance that far and the see how close they were really shows you how the United States is developing.
As for Friday's fixtures, the earlier game will be cool as both teams can go HAM on each other. No skin in the game personally, so let's hope there's excitement throughout. If Brazil lose in the later match, I feel there will be some degree of rioting alongside heartbreak (tough to be the host and lose your chance).
*My armchair analysis still can't figure out why some powerhouse teams like Spain and England fizzled the way they did. I know England typically chokes despite their talent pool. Spain was outplayed in the group stage.

I mean, hell, we're all on a forum for something that most people would describe as a "children's card game"...do what makes you happy. You are never too old to enjoy yourself.
As a Germany fan, history isn't on our side. Were 4-21 vs Brazil and undefeated against Columbia. Give me the Columbian's as Brazil is looking very strong and possess much more difficulty for the Germans.
This first half of the first half was exciting, Columbia looks like the lid could blow any minute though.
This is indeed quite the match. Neymar has been somewhat disappointing (and please stop faking! For the love of...), but the rest of the Brazil team is better than earlier in the tournament. Hulk has been improving since being lacklustre in the beginning of the world cup.
10 minutes left, will be very exciting!
Edit: Silva suspended from the semifinal, and now Neymar is injured (for real this time)? Not at all good news for Brazilian fans.
Thiago Silva is out, but apparently so is Schweinsteiger, so that's that. I do really hope Neymar's injury isn't too bad, although images of him getting to the hospital just now aren't encouraging.
(EDIT: My bad, it seems Schweinsteiger isn't suspended. I'm pretty sure the announcer said something like that earlier today. Oh well, that's just gonna make it more exciting, I guess.)
On another note, I'm really bummed that Brazil had to face two South Americans in a row. I'm pretty sure both Chile and Colombia had good chances of reaching further into the tournament.
A bore of a game to start between Germany/France, Germany, as expected went through(The French have quality, but it seemingly fits awkwardly together). Colombia loses because they only got to play with 11 men, there wasn't anything blatant, but when all the 50/50 calls go one way, the shoe seemingly fits snugly.

Did you see that the referee didn't even call the blatant foul in which Neymar got injuried? What about when previously the very same Zuñiga kicked Hulk in the knee, with no yellow card to be spoken of? As usual, refereeing was horrible, but Brazil DEFINITELY did not get helped here.

Even with those, I'd say they still got helped, and with how many blades of grass Neymar trips on, it's hard to tell where fouls are and aren't with the kid, that's the price you pay for diving.
The madness is almost here. Ten of us going to watch the Germany V Brazil game. 50-50 fan base in our group..... I hope it's a good game. Too bad Brazil has one player out on a yellow and of course the injury we all know about. I hope the Germans are past their stomach problems.
I can't believe I just witnessed history today. That didn't look like Germany vs. Brazil today, it looked like Germany in a WC Qualifying match vs. Luxembourg or something. Heck, Tahiti looked more competitive in their matches last year in the Confederations Cup. Total and utter embarrassment for Brazil.
worst loss for brazil since their 6-0 loss to Uruguay back in 1920
I seriously thought I was watching the Germany vs Saudi Arabia from 2002... Brazil seriously played that bad
if you ask me they should have gone into the playoffs as 2nd place behind Mexico (I doubt with the way Mexico was playing they would have let this happen to them)...oh well better luck on Saturday vs Argentina/Holland for 3rd place
I am hoping that the Brazilians are not getting their pitchforks and torches ready for riots with all the civil issues/manifestations they were having prior to the WC
I think everyone predicted Germany to win, I don't think anyone predicted that
Suffice to say, I'm still shellshocked.
Agreed. I don't know anyone who really expected Brazil to come through after what they went through. 7-1 was never in the cards, yet somehow Germany was dealt the God Hand.
No one predicted a 7-1 drubbing, but I'm sure ALOT of people were hoping for one.
Morally, ethically and financially bankrupting your country (for a game) is pure idiocy. The scoreline just gave the Brazilians a wake up call (eeh, not really, but we can hope). This travesty is going to be repeated in Russia.

I'm pretty sure the next one will be better. Colombia should be really tough opponents for the Brazilians.
It was a cautious affair and we almost had late French theatrics if not for an iron hand in goal.
I think Brazil v Columbia will be far more entertaining and really, it could go either way

for a good game either way
Germany are up 4-0 after a mere 25 minutes. Ok.
Edit: 5-0. Sure. Why not.
EDIT: Make that 4 more
Draft my cube! (630 cards)
Germany winning, fine. I did expect that. But 5-0? After 30 minutes? This is absolutely unreal. Brazil have just completely given up.
I'm not sure they actually turned up to the match. I can see the Germans getting into double figures by full time.
