Is it just me or is Image Comics putting the best books out there lately? Loves me some super hero/villains but the new non 'traditional' books Image is coming out with is top notch and enjoyable to see and read I think. Plutona and Paper Girls are my current favorites currently.
That's the best draw of "Creator owned" books: variety
Invincible and Walking Dead are some top notch books. Myself, where i do read those, i am currently enjoying Wayward and Copperhead.

SELVAXRI! King of Misfortune & Master of Rocket Launchers "Do ya feel lucky? Because you'd better start runnin' while you still can." 375 Misfortune {+3 signed AP's} & 104 Rocket Launcher (41 AQ/ 63 Rev) Edgar Rice Burroughs, forgotten legend of the word.
I like Image books for usually the first 20-50 issues. Then the creator just keeps going. The Walking Dead became unreadable after about issue 75.
Writers usually have some good ideas on initial plot structuring but them sometimes they just let their crazy out and write some "Holy Terror!" Frank Miller stuff and everyone realizes that maybe they're a bit much.
That's why I tend to read Brubaker/Phillips books. They have a defined run so they always leave you wanting more, rather than wondering if it'll end. If you're into crime noir at all, I can't recommend Criminal highly enough.
Transmetropolitan is another one of my favorites, but I forget who published it. Vertigo, I think.

Transmetropolitan book series is also my favorite book Written by Warren Ellis.
Well, Kirkman announced he's ending Invincible with #144. Better a creator ends their own series than it gets cancelled.
I tried reading East Of West, and I didn't care for it.
