Alright folks

I used to be really plugged into what was hip back 10 years ago but I later discovered my true love in American Primitive/Ragtime-ish guitar (check out my cover of Jack Rose's Dusty Grass @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjPrGjDVqoU) and have basically been doing almost exclusively this kind of music

I need to break out of my comfort zone and looking for some good recent tunes to cover with vocals that involve acoustic guitars

I'm trying to put on a regular show in town and I do have a decent voice so I'm looking to do some covers of recent songs: I'm not looking for anything by Nickleback or anything; I do enjoy lowkey stuff a good deal

I don't listen to the radio, most of my friends aren't into music at all and I'm guilty of having turned into a bit of a snob when it comes to music so I need all the help I can get!

Sufjan Stevens, Bon Iver, City and Colour, The lead singer/songwriter of Streetlight Manifesto has acoustic arrangements for a number of their songs under Toh Kay, You also might be able to find acoustic arrangements for songs like Spanish Sahara or maybe something that's far more recent then most of this stuff I just shared like HAIM

I had heard that Bon Iver tune years ago but never actually looked it up; great tune and in Open C!

Yeah, Bon Iver is really good, he has an album that came out last year but I really think that Skinny Love is a fantastic song so I linked that instead. I think his most popular/newest song is called Holocene.

That's most of my acoustic stuff. Obviously not all of it is just acoustic, but it's a good selection, and you could probably transcribe some of the other instruments you hear if you want to actually play some of the songs here.
