So I have recently been reaching out to a ridiculous number of different genres lately past my usual Tool/Maynard, Rush whathaveyou, and I have stumbled across some real gems. Though there are some songs that truly give you goosebumps, and I am wondering if you know of any songs that are like that. What songs are really just beautiful? (feel free to have your own interpretations of beautiful, I am open to anything :P)
I will start you all off with Amazing Grace, done by Phantom Regiment.
haha Yeah there's aaaa lot of music I would consider 'beautiful' (from black metal to hiphop). But I'll try to kick this off here and something kinda more in line with what I think you're looking for this thread.
"The Tide", from Neurosis' A Sun that Never Sets always gets me. The song starts fairly quietly, building over the first few minutes, and when it breaks it's nothing short of breathtaking.

There's one at the door, at the gate to damnation...
Is it thief, thug or whore? There's one at the door...
And there's room for one more till the end of creation. Neil Gaiman, Sandman #4 - A Hope in Hell
post-metal tends to be quite beautiful imo. stuff like mouth of the architect and rosetta are both simply stunning, crushing, and beautiful feels music. the fall of every season is also pretty good doom with regards to beauty.
Neil Finn's Song of the Lonely Mountain from the Hobbit soundtrack. I can honestly say that the snippet of the song sung by the Dwarf cast is more haunting and I hope they record the full song in the Choral style of the movie.
Mortiis's Marshland from the Smell of Rain.

Aquatic Ambience by David Wise (who is apparently making the music for dkc tropical freeze... here's to hoping for more greatness)
Stickerbrush Symphony, Forest Interlude, Mining Melancholy, Bayou Boogie, Krook's March, Hot Head Bop, Fear Factory, King K Rool theme. Some of my favorites off the top of my head if you like his style (or played the games, cuz the nostalgia trip is worth it alone, though the music genuinely good).
Yellow Ledbetter by Pearl Jam. This song gives me chills every time. Can't understand 90% of the lyrics but it really doesn't matter. Has one of my all time favorite guitar solos, right after Ed [Vedder] says "make me cry". And Mike [McCreedy] delivers in a big way. There's a reason this is their closing song for almost all their live performances.
Almost anything from the Mediaeval Baebes of which youtube has it all. Foundation is very traditional old world music with enough modern touches to make it really incredible.
CAMILLA: You, sir, should unmask.

CASSILDA: Indeed it's time. We all have laid aside disguise but you.
