You know when you're playing a game, or about to go play a sport (or something else similar), and you play music to pump yourself up? That's what I want to know. So, what is YOUR battle music, MTGSalvation?
Personally, while I'm gaming, I put on Iced Earth's album "The Glorious Burden". Nothing is as epic as going into a final battle with Part 3 of Gettysburg playing in the background. Occasionally I'll play Blind Guardian's "A Night at the Opera" as well.
And for sports/exams, my pump up music usually consists of Eye of the Tiger, the Rocky Theme Song, some RATM, and of course, Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go. =P
Let's hear it!

The band that helps me get pumped for sports/exercise the most is probably Manowar. How can you not get pumped when you hear songs like "I Believe" and "Warriors of the World Unite."
I really find that this kind of thing doesn't consistently work for me, but I do try and sometimes succeed with a few tracks/albums.
I think it's pretty hard to beat Hardcore or Powerviolence in this aspect, they were basically made for this kind of thing. Like Shai Hulud's Misanthropy Pure, Defeater's Nameless Streets, or Killing the Dream's Four Years Too Late. Don't listen to much Powerviolence though. Grindcore and Mathcore can work in a similar way, here's a great band that fits in both (they're also jazzy, pretty interesting songs if their chaos doesn't immediately turn you off).
Anything really Crescendo oriented can work wonders too, Post Rock and Post Metal being what I tend to turn to. Some great post metal bands for that include Rosetta, Supercontinent (more people need to know about them by the way, awesome sludgy post metal), and Fall of Efrafa, as well as of course Isis and Neurosis.
Good Power Metal can pump you up too, especially Epic Metal. Lost Horizon actually isn't Epic Metal (... I think?) but yea, they still work fantastically well. Soaring riffs and choruses and all that good stuff.
Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries" or Darth Vader's theme from Star Wars.
Grabbag is more classical than Ride of the Valkyries or Vadar's theme song. A dollar to the person that can name what Grabbag is or where the song came from.

"Virtue, Jacques, is an excellent thing. Both good people and wicked people speak highly of it..."
Before a competitive match of CS or DotA or anything for that matter I've been listening to this song to get me pumped up.
Figure & Whiskey Pete - Cut Throat http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0PTEBC6qiM
"Strength Beyond Strength" and "Slaughtered" by Pantera are my two major pump up songs, but anything with a breakdown (read: that doesn't suck) will get me pumped.
I also like Ensiferum for "battle music."
Comeback Kid's "Broadcasting" is a pretty huge one for me. I love to run to it. Otherwise depends on the game... being a former turntable DJ I do love me some good parpy breakbeat music.
Pandora Channels:
Bruce Springsteen
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Basshunter
Classic Rock
Shinedown
Really depends on the game I'm playing.

For how obsessed I am with music, I sure don't care about what I listen to when I play. Actually I prefer to turn on a movie/Family Guy/Community in the background.
While I'm racing in Forza, or riding some dirt bikes/atv's in MX vs ATV, I'll usually have something fast sounding playing. Like Dragonforce. My favorite song though is probably Motley Crue's "Kickstart my heart" track. Great for racing.
I don't listen to music or anything at all with FPS games. Too much distraction. Games like GTA 4, is a mix of metal.
Manowar.
Seven Nation Army- by the White Stripes (only song of their's I've heard that i like)
Maybe Buckethead? Also a fan of Iced Earth...(though I've only heard Horror Show, it's enough.)

Tyr, Amon Amarth, Manowar, Unleashed, The Sword, Slayer and GWAR. Wether it's FNM or playing FPS/Grinder games I tend to have battle music on. Though an epic win did once happen to Star Man by David Bowie.
