So I finally played this game this week, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. It walked the line between too challenging and too easy, and had good voice acting, a story that frequently made me laugh out loud (which is actually kind of rare for comedies), and the stories paralleled one another in a way I didn't expect. It's only maybe 3-5 hours of game play time, but the $25 price point will include the second half when it comes out. I think it's definitely worth playing, especially for fans of the point and click adventure game like myself.
I really liked the way the two stories intersected. Each story has hints about the truth revealed in the plot twist at the end, and thinking back I'm amazed I didn't recognize the connection earlier. I loved the twist, the fact that Mog Chothra was, in fact, the boy's 'spaceship' works amazingly well in hindsight, especially since the boy's story hints at it so strongly, and outright states that 'Mother' was a sacrifice girl. I also liked that it meant that ultimately the boy was the one kidnapping the girls in the 'space rescue' missions with the grapple. I'm looking forward to seeing the next half.
My current theory is the Mogs are all 16 year old boys being sent out to find their wives, although why the elaborate set-up, I don't know. I also suspect that the one-eye god guy is another one of these boys, and he isn't actually from space, either.
I really, really want to play it, and would happily hand money over... If I had any extra to spend right now. Sadly, I must wait. Do you think it's worth the $25, or is it sale fodder?

It's iffy. With the second half, probably. As it stands, each of the two stories is about two to three hours long (so 4-6 hours total), depending on how good you are at Point and Click games (I'm a veteran, so I never had to double back for items, I stripped each area clean before moving on). If the back half conforms to that amount of time, I say $25 is a deal. But since the second half isn't coming out for a while, you can probably wait for a sale.
I do highly recommend the game, though. It's rare that a video game makes me laugh out loud.
Neat, this one had been on my radar for awhile earlier on, but somehow I had forgotten about it. Good to hear a positive review. Is there an ETA for the second half?
