Ezreal has one of the best lategames of any ADC, depending on the enemy team. He has a relatively limited steroid (better than Ashe/Caitlyn's steroids, worse than Trist/Vayne's), but he can position to kill almost any target he wants with no risk at all to himself, once you know what you're doing.
Contrast with Graves who needs to dive into the center of a team to do any damage while building almost full squish; Graves often has to simply not deal damage in team fights until the opportune moment or else he'll just be killed almost instantly. It's virtually impossible to keep Ezreal from doing damage in a teamfight and without dedicated focusing from at least one assassin or gap closing bruiser, it's almost impossible to keep him from doing damage to whichever target he feels like killing.
Early game, he's very strong. Midgame, he might be the strongest AD Carry. Late game if the other team doesn't have a good assassin (who'll dominate less mobile ADCs), he falls behind Vayne, Kog'maw, Tristana and maybe Caitlyn (mid-game, she's probably the worst ADC, but when she hits a nearly full item build, her range, traps and dash give her enormous advantages), but he's still top tier. He's strong at every part of the game.
Also, don't attack the tanks. Take out their Corki and Teemo and you're left with guys who have no damage because they built tanky.
This advice is bad, just fyi. As an ADC, your job is to attack whoever the closest person is to you that you can safely hit. If you dive in after their carry, you're going to get cc'd and melted before you can do anything. Your job in a fight is to deal as much damage as you possibly can. If that means that you have to go through their tanks to do so, then you better make sure you have armor pen. Let your assassin/ap champ worry about blowing up the squishiest targets, that's their job.

This is one of the biggest factors in separating bad ADCs from decent ones from good ones, imo.
Bad ADCs dive the squishies no matter what. They die almost instantly provided their opponents are reasonably skilled, then wonder why they lose.
Decent ADCs attack whoever the closest target is.
Good ADCs also attack whoever the convenient target is, but they understand positioning well enough to have a reasonable chance that the convenient target is a high value squishy enemy without presenting the enemy team with a good target.

Oh yea, I didn't want to make it sound like he's bad, just that he's not generally picked for late game and that he does fall off a tiny bit by then.

finally hit 30, played my first ranked game. I'm really glad it wasn't dumb. Neither team had any particularly bad players and it went pretty well. It didn't feel any different to a Normal game. I can't tell if that's good or bad, because we stomped pretty hard with the great CC of Malphite, Taric, Fizz and Hecarim.

It doesn't exist. I finally made 1500 and all its glory and my first game I get Ashe last pick support. People are bad everywhere.
wasn't any better for me at 16k elo either last season. I'm 1526 again finally (was my high for this season but I dropped by getting trolled).
Although this is probably going to be debatable I noticed the best way to climb elo in solo que is to not give two ****s about your team and play your best role. My hardest games so far were be getting stuck supporting and most my loses are caused by me being a last pick and not getting to carry my team as a top. (Since jungle rework I refuse to jungle, the jungle is strait up bad now)
Been playing almost exclusively nid and jayce due to their lack of hard counters (lee kinda counters both early and cho is a pain for both but lategame you have utility that they dont' and jayce pokes well and nid is an exceptional bruiser.
Our mid has been playing a lot of Nidalee lately, playing a hybrid build instead of pure bruiser or pure AP and it's worked well. He doesn't really get the fighting power of bruiser Nidalee in a team fight, but he can pounce on someone and finish them off really fast, and he has almost the spears of pure AP Nidalee in the build. We've been winning a lot of our practice matches by just poking/sieging until we win with it, though I gather he hasn't had much success with it in solo queue ranked.
Hey can I get added to the MTGS list also? My ig is orebattam, but my smurf is squarexbear and I'm open to invites. I'm normally on squarexbear because I'm trying to get to 30 again.
I've been getting really bored playing the game, because the only exciting lane for me is bot. Mid has been nothing but lame, and top is just farm central for me. But when I'm corki/graves/draven bot, I'm juiced because I get to harass the hell out of my opponents (but only if I'm supported well).

I like this and do concur, but I feel like some people instinctively dismiss some roles as useless in terms of carrying potential (Support is the #1 red-headed stepchild).
The important thing is that one find his/her best role (hopefully more than 1), not avoid certain roles because of preconceptions one might have.
I have a friend who I saw rise from Bronze (S1) to Plat (S2). This season he hit 2k. And this guy only plays support Junglers or Supports.
I think there are a lot of people who try to carry in one of the big 3 (Top/Mid/Adc), but they just aren't fit for those roles and are better in support roles. It is this inability to reconcile the desire to carry and recognize that all roles are important that results in a lot of people QQing about their "hopeless" situation.

My big three are Mid --> ADC --> Jungle. I can do any role, but I feel like I can do more and enjoy it more when I play those first 3. I feel so excluded when I play top and I feel like I'm not doing enough when I play support. I understand that those positions can completely make a lane/game. I just feel I play my best at the other roles. While I prefer certain roles, I certainly won't go *****ing about "having to play support", which I feel a lot of players do.
EDIT: After the holidays I'm definitely down for some team ranked (5v5, I haven't touched the new TT). You guys have a pretty good start so far at it though!

Don't get me wrong its possible to carry with support, and I have done so before. But it is also sometimes impossible to carry with support because your carry is literally too inept to learn how to right click on enemy champs.
Junglers have it a little easier because even though they also have gold problems they can snowball lanes. They basically have the most options of any lane which kinda makes up for the big **** you riot did to their early farm.

At lower elo, it's heartbreaking to volunteer to play support, completely zone your opponents, and still have your adc lose in farm. I'd rather play the adc and deal with a ****ty support or not be in the lane at all. For me, I dislike playing characters without kill potential or very high utility because it means I can't take care of myself throughout most of the game.

There was a time I'd agree with you, but I have eerily high win rates with supports for the past several months. It's quite strange, because I'll see people plainly not making use of the sight my wards give, things like our ADC falling into an obvious gank because he didn't see the jungler run past our ward... and then we'll still roll them come midgame.
I have no idea what the **** is going on with it. Maybe I'm just better at support than other roles and don't really realize it fully.

I feel the same way. At one point this season, my win rate with Sona was approaching 90% and now it's at a more reasonable 65% or so.
I've been using GP5 quints on my runes, the money masteries and the free biscuit and ward in the utility tree, and I start the game with Crystalline Flask and either 4 Sight Wards or 2 Sight Wards and a Vision Ward and I've found that using early wards aggressively to give vision to the river and one of the bushes helps out the ADC early a lot and I do everything I can do get him first blood and/or fed.
However, I've certainly had my fair share of games where I've been with a very bad ADC and there's not much you can do when he starts off 0-4 and I died two or three times as well.
Some people on another forum have speculated that if you learn to support really well, you often can actually dominate your lane because most of the time the role of support is delegated to the lowest ranking guy who only takes it because he HAS to, and sometimes those people hate it and can't do well with that strategy and get too aggressive and feed, or don't know how to be passive and focus on protecting their ADC, especially if it means sacrificing yourself so the ADC can get away or so that you trade your death for your ADC being able to kill their ADC.
My current stats with just Sona for S3:
W: 10, L: 5
25/41/281, average per game: 1.7/2.7/18.7
Max kills - 4, max deaths - 8. Double kills - 1 ("Q" is so good!)

Idk man, it could be many things. I personally have had a very bad time on my few support games thus far. I won a game last night on Kog where my build order went: Wriggles, PD, GA. Yea. I win those games, but I can't win support games. Maybe I'm just not cut out for support.
