How many times that frost shot was perfect with intermediate bots is crazy. Playing as Vlad, as i zig-zag to avoid lux's ult, Ashe's ult hits. I then proceed to getting curb stomped by Warwick and Cho-gath's ult:-/.
And just bought vlad, feeling pretty good
I'm just going to be blunt. If you are dying to bots and its not the result of a greedy dive, you are not where you want to be.
Pretty much this ^ If you can't routinely score in the mid 20s for kills and less than 4 deaths against bots (occasional mess-around game excepted of course), if you're in low Bronze, you don't get to complain about being low Bronze, you aren't good enough to hold your own at any better tier.
Problem with bots is that they are predictable, and their decision making is piss-poor.
Sure they can react quickly, but when they do and how they do is easily predictable. As such, a player can easily outplay bots.
I'd estimate that a high Silver+ player could single-handedly carry any bot game if you build DPS items. Add in more skilled players to the mix and you could carry a game without building any items.
One time my friends and I did a full premade bot game to see if we could intentionally lose if 2 of us (one of which was me) would intentionally feed everytime we were up. My friend and I ran TP/Revive and played Rammus and Yi, respectively. We went something like 0/33 before our teammates won despite our shenanigans.
I can't count the number of bot games where I went mana items on mana-less champs, or went all Eleisa's Miracles on Riven, or went just eschewed items altogether, and still won a bot game.
I like them for practicing a champ which requires you to have a certain level of mechanical comfort to play them well. Fizz, Draven, Leblanc, etc require all the usual LoL skills, plus consistent execution of combos that are pretty specific to only those champs, and 'bot smashes' are a fine way to learn to practice those kinds of skills.

You know what, this is a good point. I usually dislike playing against Bots, but I think I'm going to start playing any new Champs I don't have a lot of practice with. I tried playing a Normal Draft yesterday and decided to try Draven. I went ADC bot and ended up losing 0-6. Everyone on my team was complaining (rightfully so) about how me and Rengar did terrible (and we did). My supp, Karma suggested I try games vs Bots first.
I've heard this before, but I never liked playing vs bots because of the predictability and low IP.
But yeah, I'm thinking it would be a good idea to learn the basic skills and try to practice getting kills. PLUS, it's an easy way to get your First WIN of the Day, which is an opportunity I never really want to miss out on.

Bot games aren't there to learn how to make game breaking decisions such as dragon/baron/ganking etc. I only like them to kill time and to get used to a champion. Learning the length of a skillshot, catching Draven's axes and comboing Xerath's skills out as fast as possible to instagib someone. Once I get a feel for the champion, that's when I take it to a real game and then worry about both mechanics and game decisions. Plus, it is nice to get some IP just by practicing a 20-25 minute game. Its better than nothing.

Exactly! Thanks for the confirmation of this. PLus, it's an easy FWOD! AND nobody complains or says OMG when you tell them it's your first time with X.

It is indeed an easy FWOD. Course, play a few thousand games, you won't be worrying about IP anymore. Can't say I've thought about FWOD in a year or more
EDIT: Taking my Tri Force Draven into solo queue soon. It's surprisingly good. Going to look for counterpicks with it for the time being, not force it.
I don't know what it is about Dominion and Summoners Rift that makes people want to do the opposite of what they should be doing. Whenever I play Summoners Rift I get people who are hell bent of getting those kills, they ignore CS, turret dive, chase, etc etc determined they are going to kill people and usually end up failing and have no farm.
Then on Dominion it's like they want to completely ignore the enemy champs and just play Farmville in the middle of the ring...seriously WTF is with the lol community as of late it's like everyone decided they would have a "do the opposite of what you should do on this map" festival or something and I didn't get the memo >.<

Why is that? I'm assuming you have all the runes, but do you NOT buy heroes anymore? Do you have them all? It takes me awhile to get a significant amount of IP, I'm usually lucky to get 2k in a week. That's with 1 or 2 games a day and a dozen or so on Thurs, my Dias Libre from both work and my wife.

I own all but four champs, and I make more IP per month than it costs to buy the new champs they put out, so I'm slowly but surely edging towards a complete collection.

I guess I don't even play the bot games with a queue. I just make a tournament custom (so I can pause) and just add bots to each side. I'd rather not even worry about trying to play with others when it comes to bots since I'm only trying out a champion.
After almost 3 years of playing I still don't have all of the champs. I don't really want them all either. I have trouble picking and choosing since I already have all the ones I want. I usually only buy new ones nowadays so I can have them to trade in soloQ. I think I still have like 18-20 to go.

So Dominion and ARAM are making me discover a new love...
AP Sona, that Q+Power Chord+Lich bane poke on top of heals is some kinda of amazing, and I love her ult all the more when it has a good chunk of AP backing it up. Fun as hell.
I can't imagine the day I would ever lose to bots, and i'm still in bronze.
Speaking of which, moved up to Bronze I today, hopefully i'll hit Silver easily enough. I decided to play mainly jungle in solo queue, as much as I like ad(my main role nowadays), it's just easier to carry as a jungler.
I swept my promo series 2-0. First game I got was an easy win with Hecarim(put my carry pants on and got some freelo). Second game was a little bit harder, Hec was banned so I picked Mao instead. And our firstpick midlaner raged the whole game at our top lane Kass(who instalocked, expecting mid). Notable moments of that game include: Bot lane losing terribly, me going godlike on the tree, Kass having sub 20 farm at 20 minutes(seriously), and a nice baron steal leading to a clean ace and a victory(I also smite stole a dragon and a blue buff that game).

She's absolutely ridiculous on ARAM. Pretty much the perfect champion for the map. Outstanding poke, solid damage, outstanding team sustain, an outstanding team fight ultimate, and super easy to play. Though, I suppose that's why she's the most winningest ARAM champion with a > 70% win rate.
Most of the supports have interesting transitions to the 'free gold' modes. I'm a big fan of AP Janna on ARAM as well - no one protects AD carries like her and she pushes lanes at no risk.
Tanky/CDR Sona and Lulu see heavy play in Dominion tournaments. Lulu so much so that she is getting nerfs exclusive to Dominion next patch, lol.
Lost my third series for gold III. I don't even know what to say, I get great teams until series, and then get paired with these loony toons:
Game 1 had a shen who rushed wardens mail against a nasus. Needless to say, he lacked the hp to provide pressure and fed the nasus 2 kills. The nasus also had 50 more cs than him and proceeded to telegank bot all day. Needless to say, we lost pretty bad.
Game 2 had a duo who wanted bot, but they let me take support because i main it, and then the other lost adc to fp. We get invaded lvl 1 and trade 2 for 2 and blu (they also got fb, so win for them). My adc then proceeds to yell at me for her not backing when our wards ran out and giving yi a kill. She follows up with a similar shouting match when (get this) I don't ult (as janna) when varus and sona kill her with their Qs from under their tower where she is seiging after I had already given her my shield (I shouldn't hang on to spells like that or something). Our mid meanwhile was counterpick, our top decided to troll (or at least stopped caring, which I really didn't mind), and our jungle and I couldn't exactly carry. We got wrecked.
Why you do this league? My teams are amazing until series every damn time >.<
Whatever though I guess, there's only so many times I can get paired with apple seeds before I run across an actual team of people.

Took my first loss playing Tri Force Draven. Came out ahead in lane despite a feeder support (got caught a few times), but our Nasus fed Zed 7 kills in 15 minutes... not much an ADC is going to do about that.

So I found out why LoL is so much laggier than HoN and nearly as bad as DotA 2; they don't have east coast servers.
Riot just leased a building in NYC for five years, so possible East Coast servers coming.
