That's a ridiculous view of the other ADCs. Corki is one of the most formulaic ADCs actually, since you just use Q and E on CD for damage and pop R periodically for sheen activation.
Yeah, but what I meant was it's more skill uses and feels more dynamic than right clicking. (eg. Ashe has two skills to use in a teamfight and will be right-clicking most of the time, two of Graves's skills have a high enough cooldown that you probably won't get more than one use out of them in a fight, MF has a passive and two long-CD skills, Tristana's skills all have 10+ second cooldowns). Ezreal and Corki play like casters and AP carries while still being ADCs.
Just jungled Hecarim for the first time. So freaking fun. The last teamfight, they were running from us, I pop E + Shurelya's + ghost then ult them. Glorious!

Psh you should be using all 4 of ashe's moves in most teamfights.
Yea I guess, I still feel like way more thought goes into say when you use arrow than any of corki's stuff besides valk. Graves has it bad in that regard though.

I don't disagree with the thought going into things. I think it's the opposite that makes people like Ez and Corki; you don't need to think much to press QWQWQW or EQRRRR and right click, but it still requires skill to aim the skillshots. Ez probably has more thought because of the aiming of the W and his ult, but the simplicity while feeling complicated is nice, I think.

Maybe I'm just reading more into this than there is but it almost like you think Ezreal and Corki require more to play than other ADCs. I would say that is a drastic understatement as many require much more skill than Ezreal and Corki, and many that have escapes, especially when it comes to positioning. ADCs like Ezreal and Corki can often get a free pass for terrible positioning, and frankly if I had a penny for every Ezreal/Corki/etc I've seen escape a blitz grab that would of killed an Ashe/Varus/Draven/Twitch/etc I would prolly be in that top 1% I keep hearing so damn much about.
As I said I might be reading to much into your comments but realisticly there is so much to playing ADCs that don't have escapes as compared to ones that do, especially ones that get a free flash like Ezreal, that I've gotten to the point I see ADCs like Ezreal/Corki/etc and think "great someone who's riding the easy train."(no pun intended)

I got into a debate about this the other day. I feel that "simple" carries, like Ashe, are so much harder to play than complicated ones like ez, specifically because the escape skills are so forgiving. If you get out of position on Ashe, you're finished.

Eh I would say they are different. Ezreal does require more skill in terms of skillshots, but in all honestly missing a few skillshots as Ezreal isn't going to be as game breaking as screwing your positioning as Ashe.
That said it's undeniable that ADCs like Ezreal massively forgive critical mistakes like bad positioning. That was one reason I stopped playing them I had to get rid of that crutch before I really got good at playing the roll. Now I feel that if I went back to one of those ADCs with an escape on top of what I've learned about proper positioning that I would completely pub stomp some people. I may try it one day...ok prolly not Ashe and Varus are way to much fun

This is a bit of an apples to oranges comparison, as missing a mystic shot with Ezreal is the equivalent of missing a volley with Ashe. Ezreal having an escape should be compared to Ashe NOT having an escape.
As for escape the escape abilities of Ezreal and Corki; they should be used more often for when the enemy jumps on you. No amount of good position is going to stop a good player on a champion (*COUGH*ADASSASSIN*COUGH*) with a gap closer from catching you. It requires a conscientious team to keep one of them off of you. The fact that they can be used to cover for bad positioning is marginal at higher levels of game play.

Good positioning doesnt just mean sitting in the back line. I got a number of replays, including one with ashe, where i survived ad assassins and bruisers like lee sin, panth, talon, kha, etc etc because I positioned myself to be able to flash walls when they jumped on me. Ezreal, corki and the like get this for free others get it as their flash comes off cd.
Also the point about higher levels of play kinda goes along with what I was saying. Escape adc dominate at all elos and while the escapes dodging assassins is the more common in high level in medium to low you see them save the backside of a guy who royally screwed up.
The problem with Corki and Ez is that some players only use abilities to do damage instead of auto attacks. It's like they forget that you can just right click to do a lot of damage too.
You were reading way too much into it lol. I was just saying it feels like you're doing more. In fact, that means that because you have more skill casts, a single error means a lot less on Ezreal or Corki (missing a rocket isn't exactly going to lose you a teamfight, usually) than it does on Ashe (... while missing an arrow will). Guys that aren't spammy do take a fair bit more skill to pilot properly while Ez and Corki are much better at being mediocre. They probably require less to play than other ADCs. (hence my comment which you might not have seen about "simplicity while feeling complicated").
but I still think the main reason they're popular is because people will take any chance to build Trinity Force. [/this is a joke don't try and rebut it]
@aerostatico: how does that even work. I mean, sure, you can poke really well when you're at a good distance but when you get into teamfights... I mean, it's especially obvious as Corki, because your Q and E range is the same as your autoattack. Do bad Ez's really just spam Q from half a map away? ._.

Good: auto -> spell -> auto
Bad: spell
Team fights are different of course, but there's still a distinct lack of auto attacking when it comes to poor play.

Unless another ADC (one without an innate escape) has a far superior kit for the circumstance, such as Caitlyn and her super range for laning, wouldn't someone logically choose Corki or Ezreal just because of their mobility and ability to escape/engage?
Trinity Force is good on a whole slew of champions, but it is amazing on Ez and Corki due to their ability to proc the Sheen part of it on a consistent basis.

Wow, it happened to much for me to get a screenshot but the funniest thing happened!
Both teams surrendered!
We each has a leaver so the thing looked like
X team has agreed to surrender with 3 votes for and 0 against
Y team has agreed to surrender with 3 votes for and 1 against.
Since they surrendered first, we got the win.
LOL
EDIT: I was just lecture, in game.
This panth got mad I killed him at level 2 taking his red and blue. (stole/start his red, killed him at wraiths for his blue)
Then again.
Then a bit later, taking my red back he stole.
Then again.
Then letting nid kill him for his blue.
And again.
Apparently I sucked. I was 6/1/6 he was 3/8 at the end of the match.
He always had a remark how I wasn't helping the team. And that my elo was -500. I told him we probs had the same elo, cause we were playing in the same game. He told me he was 1700+. Then he said he'd report me for not helping my team, cause I was killing him rather than ganking lanes. I answered you are 0/6 level 5 like 15 minutes in the game, I took you out of the game. He said it doesn't matter. Their mid got fed up and quit (I told him free win right there) he said it was nidalee's fault. Nid was losing to Cass in lane. Then I came and got Cass at her tower when Nid brought her low but couldn't finish her.
I'm wasting Shaco's potential. And desecrating him too!
I honored him
EDITED EDIT: I wanna try nidalee. Anyone plays her can give me tips?

Trinity Force is good on a whole slew of champions, but it is amazing on Ez and Corki due to their ability to proc the Sheen part of it on a consistent basis.
Caitlyn has an innate escape with her net, reason she isn't picked as much is because her scaling is terrible and she doesn't have the utility to make up for it like Ashe does.
For the most part people will generally take Corki/Ez if they are looking for an adc with an escape that does good through-out the whole game. If they are looking for a strong early/mid game with an escape they will normally take Graves/Cait in game. MF is actually becoming an exception as she doesn't have an escape but the combination of black cleaver+her ult is providing amazing team fight utility and damage which is moving her up the ladder of ADCs even without the utility(which imo speaks to more about how strong black cleaver is than MF actually is.)
Champs like Ashe and Varus are more often to be taken when teams needs the CC and utility they bring but already have plenty of damage. For example a team that has Kha'Zix mid, Vlad top, and Shyvana mid are perfectly fine on damage, but are really lacking CC and that is where a bot lane of Ashe/Nami, Ashe/Sona, Varus/Sona, VarusNami/etc etc would be really strong in the team comp. Even Ashe/Nunu would be good for the kiting potential they would have.
Other champs without escapes like Kog'maw and Draven get picked for how much damage they can do. Kog'maw is more often taken in comps that have a ton of CC and protection such as Shen top, Orianna/Morgana mid, Skarner/Naut jungle they are missing damage but can lock a team down till the end of time. In this case Kog'maw would be amazing because he can be protected so well while he rips a team apart from long range. Draven would also be good because he could be protected while he catches axes and does a ton of damage, unlike Kog'maw though he is an amazing bully in lane from level 1 and can dominate the laning phase.
@aerostatico: how does that even work. I mean, sure, you can poke really well when you're at a good distance but when you get into teamfights... I mean, it's especially obvious as Corki, because your Q and E range is the same as your autoattack. Do bad Ez's really just spam Q from half a map away? ._.
Yeah they do. When I play Ezreal in a team fight I will normally ult at the start of it hitting as many people as I can to get my passive quickly stacked at which point I try to get as much damage out of my W while providing the buff to my team and use Q to keep my passive stack up while AAing.
I can agree with this, I mainly play top and jungle, so it's common for me to have the mindset of a frontliner when it comes to teamfights. When I have to play ad, I play Ez or Corki because they are very forgiving when it comes to positioning.
but I still think the main reason they're popular is because people will take any chance to build Trinity Force. [/this is a joke don't try and rebut it]
Fun fact, Triforce is now bad on Ezreal, just build Iceborn Gauntlet, it's soooo much better on him. It makes his poke and kite potential insanely good(So long as you make sure to land every q).
EDITED EDIT: I wanna try nidalee. Anyone plays her can give me tips?
Nid's one of my new favorite top laners, so i'll chime in here. Pre 6 she doesn't really have much kill pressure, so you do have to play a little bit more passive, try to harass as much as possible with autos and just wait for 6. In lane, you can max either q or e, depending on the matchup, don't be afraid to max e, as tank nid, you're not going to have godlike psy-spears anyways. Nid can trade damage really well with cougar form, so make sure to abuse that.
As far as items go, I really like rushing Sunfire/Iceborn Gauntlet on her. You can pressure lanes really easily with Nid, and she's great at taking down objectives. Make sure to utilize both of her forms when fighting.
I also recommend that you go into a custom game and practice leaping over thin walls, as it's a little tricky at first.
I can agree with this, I mainly play top and jungle, so it's common for me to have the mindset of a frontliner when it comes to teamfights. When I have to play ad, I play Ez or Corki because they are very forgiving when it comes to positioning.
I'm a lot of the opposite, in that I like to play mid to back laners like support, ADC, and APC. When I do play front line champs I either go with forgiving ones like Darius, or ones that reward recklessly jumping into an enemy team to wreck havoc, see Shyvana.
I have a feeling the counter jungling will be amazing!
Win. I do my usual level 2 counter gank, end up with both his buffs.
Then he goes for mine, steals it from me (I wanted to take it before he could take mine) fiddle kills him with my help, getting our blue. But talon gets me. We had the same build, cept I had 2 items more than him at the end.
Just came out of a 3s that was....rather interesting. Namely I got paired up with a guy on my team who has been a thorn in my side, the earlier game I linked the Lux that told me my 12/2/10 Shyvana did nothing to help the team, yeah him again >.<
Team comp was Panth, him on Amumu, and me on Orianna against Sej, Maokai and Riven. Started out rough with me DCing at the start only to come back at level 1 and get camped by a level 4 Maokai and level 3 Sej. Thankfully Panth was doing good top and after a few team fights I caught up...then the fun and interesting parts started to happen when I hit 6 with the rest of my team.
Ever seen two people who really don't like each other, and originally have each other on ignore at the start of the game try to sync up two critical ults in the middle of a team fight? To say it was fickle would be an understatement sometimes it worked perfectly and we got some wicked sick aces, other times we failed miserably and get wrecked. Eventually we decided it was better to actually play nice and talk to one another. After which we pretty much landed every single ult combination and wrecked every team fight there after.
That said I still hope I don't get put on his team again, it gets really annoying when a guy constantly complains about you not helping him survive a gank when he was massively over extended and your at 5% HP >.<
EDIT--Side note I really should play Orianna more often she's one of the 3 champs I got a pentakill on that I actually like...
