Diana right now isn't crappy by any stretch of the imagination, she isn't as crazy as she was at release but her damage is still way to freaking high for the kind of survivability she has.
She's a melee champion that gets sent mid, she has to be strong or she's going to be useless. She has some ridiculously hard counters like Mordekaiser and (believe it or not) heimerdinger. Other champions that can do well against her are Swain and Cho'Gath.
The number one way to defeat Diana is simply to avoid getting hit by her Q. Yes, it's tricky to dodge if you don't understand it, but she's heavily dependent on using her Q to refresh her ultimate's cooldown. If you deny that you deny a significant amount of her burst/sustain damage.
Also, don't let diana stand in your face and auto attack you. Play a champion an escape or a CC. Late game, focus her down HARD because despite having a shield, she is still a squishy champion.
That's because she was designed as a jungler. Junglers have high stats and do a lot of damage with barely any damage items. Lee Sin does the same thing. Diana gets completely destroyed by Morde in lane.
I'm not pretty sure Diana wasn't designed as a jungler. Riot developers try not to hard design someone for a certain lane/jungle position (don't ask for citation, I'm fairly certain that CertainlyT said it but I've since lost the actual dev post). Most of the time it's a bottom up approach of "let's put together 5 skills, create an identity and then work from there".
Very few champions are actually created with a specific position in mind, I think they said that Nocturne was the last top down design specifically for the jungle that they had.

Bolded really irks me when people say because frankly is has absolutely zero basis in the reality of this game.
EU LCS, game at 5:50:00 enemy team has Diana. Do you think the opposing team "dodged her Q" no they didn't. Why? Because people that are semi competant can hit skill shots, hell the biggest complaint about Nid is the damage on her spear when built AP and over and over again you hear people say "dodge her spears" and yet over and over again we see pros land them against other pros.
Dodge ability X isn't an answer or a solution it's a cop-out when there is really nothing else valid to say.
As far as her being melee I'm sorry but being melee doesn't get you a free pass to be insane, if that was the case Irelia would never have been nerfed. Bottomline is she is putting out to much damage with to much sustain. Her W is completely insane as with zero AP it gives her an additional 310 HP at max rank, which is really damn high for an assassin. It also has a .4 AP scaling ratio and while not high the fact it will apply twice is what is putting it over the top. 600 AP, around what that Diana had(and yes we where both full build so it wasn't a thing of her getting fed just game going long), that will add around another 240 per shield. That 310 HP becomes an additional 790 HP, on a 10 second CD but usually 6 thanks to CDR. Think about that for a second. Name 1 champion that isn't a tank that gets that much effective health out of one ability.
There isn't one. No other champion that isn't a tank will get that much effective health from one ability. Hell even some tanks, Naut/Skarner/Shen just to name a few don't even get that much effective health out of their kit and definatly not out of a single ability. The only champs that really do is Mundo, and Volibear and both of them have to stack health to really get it. I guess you could say fiddlesticks off his drain but that is easily stopped with CC, Diana's not so much. If she builds even semi-proper, which will normally include Abyssal, Zhonya, and Rylias somewhere in the build she is going to be plenty tanky, those items alone are +50 armor, +500 health, and +45 MR not including the AP granted. Sure she isn't Singed but she isn't anywhere near as squishy as people want to think.
Oh, I'm sorry, we're not talking about the laning phase? Have your team murder her when she gets into melee range. Problem solved. Alternative, have your team peel for you.
As for skill shots, there's a little joke about them. Skill shot's are called skill shots because they test your opponents skills to dodge them. There's a certain point where you can basically land every single skill shot you get a chance to, and it's up to your opponent to avoid them because they have to react in time.
And as for Nidalee spears - they have a 6 second cooldown without any CDR. You can maybe land 1 out of every 10 and still win the lane because of that. Nidalee's spears are quite easy to dodge, they just come at you at such a volume that it's difficult to dodge all of them.
edit: in all honesty, if you really think diana is overpowered go play her for a few games. You'll quickly find out that she's quite balanced for the match ups.

So, what about the LCS game where someone dodged like, 4 Diana Q's in a row? In fact, I believe that it was that LCS game that you linked, even. Her Q is one of the easier skillshots to dodge, IMO, since all you have to do is walk towards her, or to her left and you'll dodge it.
Honestly, you're the only person I've heard complain about Diana in several months, except for when she was over-nerfed. She's in a pretty good spot right now, possibly even a bit on the weaker side, as Scarra just mentioned in an interview earlier this week. Just don't let her snowball and she's not all that useful.

I think I'm gonna change topic.
What do you guys think about going with a PD+Zephyr build on ADCs instead of getting boots? Effectively replace the boots you normally buy with Zephyr. Did it last game as Varus and had 385 move speed with it and PD, in addition it gives you 30% more atk speed, +20 AD, and +10% CDR. With Varus going boots I normally get to around 393 move speed. So really I lose 8 move speed total from doing the build and then enchants, in my case on ADC I use Furor which could cost me another 12% move speed. So what do you guys think about switching out boots for Zephyr think it's worth it?

As a sixth item, to sell boots with, yes. Before that and you're a moron.
The basic reasoning is that you need to itemize damage, and the 20 damage that zephyr gives you is not enough to make an AD carry's auto attacks threatening. Boots are cheap enough to itemize without significantly impairing the rest of your build.
Zephyr costs 2850 gold, and doesn't give you the movement speed until the very end. Phantom Dancer also costs 2800 gold, which basically means that you're spending 5650 gold for an inefficient combination to replace boots.

To kind of explain how I built it I went Bloodthirster-->Phantom Dancer-->Zephyr-->Last Whisper. I didn't just straight rush PD+Zephyr. Although note I was stupidly ahead this game as I pushed down my tower around 9 minutes in and was 9/1/1 at the time, hense why I am asking what ppl think as a single game where I was fed as hell isn't really going to answer my questions about it.

Didn't really take it personally, just wanted to clarify as it sounded like you thought I was saying to build PD+Zephyr first.
That said is your stance still to only do it at the end of your build when selling boots or do you think there is a point where going that build, when not stupid fed, is reasonable?
If Zephyr gave move speed earlier, then I think it would be worth it. Since it doesn't, I don't think it's worth giving up the mobility that boots give you. That being said, I think Chaox tried it in the LCS a few weeks ago with MF and did reasonably well with it. I think that every guide he has posted for Season 3 says to wait until full build to get Zephyr though, as you gain a bunch of stats and only lose 20ish move speed.
Zephyr as an item kind of confuses me, honestly. I think it's supposed to be built on a carry, but if you build it, you're only gaining attack speed and a bit of damage. With the understanding that you need AD, AS, Crit, and Armor Pen, where are you getting your other three stats from, especially crit. It just seems like, if you build it any faster than a boot replacement at full build, you're going to be behind your opponent in damage if they have a more typical build. I'd have to math it out to be sure, but I think in the majority of cases, getting a PD, or even a Shiv, is going to significantly out damage a Zephyr.

I only do it on MF just because of her passive. I would never consider completely ditching boots from the get go on other champions especially on ones that don't have a dash/blink. It's very risky.

This makes me laugh, i hear a lot about the "at release xxx was overpowered, uouve seen nothing" and a lot of champs i considered overpowered that people said they werent back then teling my i needed toknow to play better. Then they get nerfed tons:
Zyra
Diana
Elise?
Rengar
Jayce
Graves
Vayne
The reason why the say "the stuff you've see is nothing" is because the stuff from a long time ago like this and this were obscene
No.
Umm, anti spam measure cause no is all that is really needed:
I can't tell you you're trying to be funny, find a slick way to show us the things from way back when or you actually people think characters can't be overpowered because more ridiculous stuff had existed in the past. Anything less broken than power 9 is ok then?
We look at the Elos of the opposing teams during the loading screen, see that they have a lower average Elo, then don't take the game seriously. That's the sort of behavior that got us to lose a few game 1s of new ranked teams
I'm also pleasantly surprised when I find out the Elos of the opponents are much lower than expected for the amount of coordination/skill they displayed in the game. Just goes to show how much people skill/psychology has to do with the game.
The problem with *my* ranked team is that I suck but they keep trying to get me to play with them and I always end up feeding because I'm Bronze III and my team is Silver V (which I know isn't super good but it's still better than I am). Then I get yelled at. Feelsbadman.jpg
As for skill shots, there's a little joke about them. Skill shot's are called skill shots because they test your opponents skills to dodge them. There's a certain point where you can basically land every single skill shot you get a chance to, and it's up to your opponent to avoid them because they have to react in time.
It's not even a joke - it's the main reason Riot loves them. Skill shots exist because they test the skill of the defender - not the attacker. If you've ever raged at someone for missing skill shots, remember that - nearly every skillshot is specifically tuned to allow the defender to dodge it.

I'm the worst player on my team as well, by a fairly wide margin - Silver IV player (only Silver tier player) on a Gold III team. It can be pretty harsh - but if they want you to play with them, that's good, right? Also, you're probably playing one role on the ranked team, which gives you an opportunity to learn that role really well against much better competition than usual.
My approach was basically - the role that I play on the team, I main that in solo queue. Because I get to practice it against much higher tier players on a regular basis, I'm much better at it than is implied by my Silver IV ranking. I've fallen out of practice on other roles, so I tend to lose as them (Jax is really strong right now, though!), and sometimes lose when another ADC main lands on my team, but tend to win when I get ADC. Result: I'm a reasonable contributor on my team and stable in solo queue.

Champions today are balanced. Last time we had anything really op was Udyr with locket because you coudnt kill him unless you were an adc that was super fed. And before that it wa xin because you were perma knocked up.
Vayne is still extremely squishy with the same low range. Rengar was actually buffed before being nerfed. Elise was buffed first and people think shes op now because they dont want to get magic resist when her q scales of health. Darius was never op. People just said there was no counterplay which is a case of being annoying rather then op. I can give you a bunch of other examples too if you want
Also, Sky released another youtube video. It's a PSA to the league community: http://youtu.be/wOlxb_HeMfU Disclaimer: minor NSFW language (it's cleaner than the last videos, but lots of words are bleeped out)

Some more than others. I play Caitlyn, and it's very obvious how my batting average rises and falls from game to game depending on who's across from me. Fortunately, it's so obviously part of the design, what with the conspicuous wind-up, that other players seem to understand. I don't think I've ever gotten rage for missing skillshots. Misplaced traps, yes. Unused ultimates, yes (a surprising number of people seem to think it's global). Skillshots, no.
The other thing is that many skillshots, Cait's not least among them, have a significant zoning effect even when they miss.

well, to be fair, Phreak does call a lot of champions junglers

No.
Umm, anti spam measure cause no is all that is really needed:
I can't tell you you're trying to be funny, find a slick way to show us the things from way back when or you actually people think characters can't be overpowered because more ridiculous stuff had existed in the past. Anything less broken than power 9 is ok then?
The problem with *my* ranked team is that I suck but they keep trying to get me to play with them and I always end up feeding because I'm Bronze III and my team is Silver V (which I know isn't super good but it's still better than I am). Then I get yelled at. Feelsbadman.jpg
Quotes in blog.

It's a PSA to the league community: http://youtu.be/wOlxb_HeMfU

The other thing is that many skillshots, Cait's not least among them, have a significant zoning effect even when they miss.
