I Am Alive- short review: I'm glad I got it with "Free with Gold".
Long Review:
What's worse than a game with a bad ending? A game with an ending that doesn't provide any conclusion whatsoever.
You are playing some unnamed survivor of a cataclysmic event looking for his wife and daughter in the ruins on their hometown. You eventually run into a little girl- not your daughter- who sends you on a chase to rescue her mother, then get them to the safety of a boat ferrying survivors to a safe harbor.
That's where the game ends. Hero McGee stay behind with the intention to find his family in the rumored survivor camps- then screen goes to a handheld camera of Hero McGee telling his wife that he will find them, and a crying woman is watching the video.
... ... ... ...
I hate games with no conclusion. If this was a full retail game, I'd have been very upset- almost like i was when i played Assassin's Creed.
Back to seriousness-
This game wallows in a swath of grey scale- the city has been covered in "dust" from said Event. Aside from some instances of blues, reds, and yellows- this game a mess of blacks, whites, and greys.
Combat is mostly non-aggressive at the start; there is no "swing machete around, hoping to hit enemy". Let enemies come to you, and slice their throat. With your empty handgun, bluff aggressors to submission. Thugs with guns will call your bluff, be warned. You do eventually get a bow- and one arrow that doesn't break. It's not until the end game that you get *gasp* A SECOND ARROW to use to snipe the dozen enemies that inhibit the final area.
You also get a shotgun from a survivor if you give him several things that he requests. Ammo is limited, you tend to get one bullet from thugs with guns- though, not shotgun ammo.
While you're in combat, if you engage in a 'struggle' to try to shank someone, his buddy can whack you- knocking you out of the struggle. Getting shot will cause you to unknock your arrow, so fire your bow before he does.
The game mostly consists of two gameplay styles: fighting enemies in a psuedo-stealth fashion [there is no "take cover" function in this game] and climbing/exploration as you try to reach a check point.
All in all, I am glad I didn't spend a dime on this game. Just a few hours of my time. This game won't be wasting anymore space on my harddrive. The story- or lack of conclusion of said story- kills the game. Atmosphere and combat i could deal with, but the story makes it not worth playing for 100% completion. 2/5.

Actually completed Subnautica last week. Holy cow that game is an experience, definitely one of the best games I've played in awhile. Before that I completed my thirteenth play through of the Mass Effect series.
Never played any of the Saints Row games, so played Saints Row 4. And Last of Us. Trying out playstation now, it's got a lot of really good, older games for only $20 per month.

The last game I've finished (considering MMORPGs can't really be "finished") was a long time ago: "Dreamfall: The Longest Journey", it was a RPG on Playstation 2 or Xbox if I recall correctly. Interesting storyline, mixing technology-advanced setting with a more magic-oriented setting.
