Yeah, this had nothing to do with the save glitch. I was in the middle of friendship training a 'mon and the game just crashed. It's not a brick, I just lost four hours of grinding bland mini games.
i had it crash on me before. thankfully i had saved recently.

Good to hear. I was confused because I have the complete Central Dex but when I showed it to Sycamore he said I had a few more to go. I don't know what I'm missing.
But really, if anyone has Gliscore, Dragonite, or Rhyperior that I can borrow, or a Bold Ditto I'd be your best friend. D:

i'm working on a dragonite for myself. nothing special.

Ok, people who are much smarter than me. I really need some help with IV breeding. I'm stuck and confused and don't know what to do. My target is a 5 IV Goodra, Bold Nature, with Gooey ability.
As it stands, I have a Male Goomy with Bold Nature, Gooey ability and perfect IVs in Sp. Atk, Sp. Def and Def. Now I'm trying to get one that has perfect IVs in those three, plus HP and Speed. What's my next step here? I don't know what I need to do now in order to breed a Goomy that has the parent's Sp. Atk, Sp. Def and Def plus a perfect HP or Speed IV as well.
I can't figure out how to keep this chain going. I know I need the Destiny Knot, and the Power Items can help. But if I equip one with Destiny Knot and the other with a Power Item, then I can't give one an Everstone to pass down the nature. What do I do?

Has anyone tried fighting pokemon (with the power items, of course) vs. training as which method is faster for EVs? I am just messing around in the battle tower, but when I get to that step, I am curious what works better....

Theoretically, what you'd want to complement that is a female Goomy with any nature, Gooey ability, perfect IVs in HP and Speed, or a similar Ditto. That's the one the Destiny Knot would go on.
Keep breeding until you get a baby that's better than one of the parents, and then replace that parent, assuming you have Gooey on one of the parents at all times. Repeat until you get your target.
@TCM: Probably not, given ~1 minute, including scenes = 12 points. That's not including any bags you'd get.

Thank you! But, don't I need the Destiny Knot to make the parent with 3 perfect EVs pass them down? Will that parent pass them down without Destiny Knot?
Actually, Horde Training is definitely the fastest. You can easily max out one of your EV's in 5 minutes. Up to 40 EV from one battle with a Macho Brace, 60 with the proper Power Item.

How does one go about calculating exactly how many EVs you will get from a Horde battle? And also, when you switch out your Pokemon, it still gets the EVs after the battle, right?
How does one go about calculating exactly how many EVs you will get from a Horde battle? And also, when you switch out your Pokemon, it still gets the EVs after the battle, right?
Calculating how many EVs you'll get is really pretty simple. For the purposes of my explanation, I'll assume you're using a power item and have Pokerus.
First, you find out the EV you need, and a corresponding horde Pokemon that gives it out. Pretty easy using one of the major sites like bulbapedia or serebii. I'll use Zubat for this example. Zubat gives 1 speed EV when defeated. Now, power items always add 4 EVs to the base total of the defeated Pokemon, so now you're at 5 EVs. Then, anything with Pokerus will double that base value of 5, giving 10 EVs from that one Zubat. Then, since you're killing 5 at once, you'll get 50 EVs in one fell swoop.
Or, simply put, the equation is 2(x+4), where x = the Pokemon's EV given when defeated. Then multiply that answer by 5.
Another thing, power items will give their corresponding EVs regardless of the Pokemon you defeat. So, using that same Zubat, if you defeat it while holding the Defense-boosting power item, you'll get 1 speed EV and 4 defense EVs. So be careful.
Also, the Pokemon never even needs to participate in the battle as long as you have exp. share on. As long as it gets experience from the battle, it gets EVs.
I've been breeding these two all night. Probably an entire box worth or more. I've gotten at least 3 "perfect" Pokemon with 5 31 IVs and a bunch of 4 31 IVs. The problem is, they all have the Attack IV and that's the one I don't need. Not one single offspring has had a Speed IV, and I really need the final Pokemon to have a perfect IV in Speed instead of Attack.
Am I doing something wrong? Or am I just extremely unlucky? I can't use the Power Anklet on the female because I need one Pokemon to hold the Destiny Knot so 5 IVs will be passed and I can't let the Male hold it because I need to pass down the Nature.
I can't swap out the female for a better one because I don't have another female with the HA that has a speed stat. So confused..
From what I can see, you have all the components there, you're just having some bad luck. It's always extra annoying when you need a specific ability out of three possibilities, but just keep truckin'. Trust me, I'm right there with you right now. I'm trying to get myself a scrappy Kangaskhan, but they can only be female, and I really don't want to breed a male something just for this, so I'm stuck with a 3 IV Ditto. You'll get it eventually, don't get discouraged.

Aaah I'm seriously about to give up, haha. I've spent probably 4 hours now and I still haven't had a single offspring inherit a Speed IV. They keep getting Attack instead.
I have a Scrappy Kangy but it's not IV trained. It's going to be one of the ones I properly IV train after I'm done with a few other Pokemon because I love how it works. Nearly OHKOing some Pokemon with Fake Out thanks to Mega Evolution and getting the final blow in with Sucker Punch before they even get to do anything never gets old.
Don't forget about that +2 attack boosting Power-up Punch! Seriously, Mega-khan is ridiculous. Making myself a Mawile afterward. That thing's raw attacking power is just... silly.
I do but I'm a day behind. I had a date last night so didn't get around to breeding, haha.
Yeah, saw you on, but you were busy the other day. I'll be around tonight, though. I'll keep an eye out.

So, you are saying the new minigame is faster?

Hope this helped!
It did! I wasn't sure how many EVs the Power Items added. That's probably the route I'll go then when I get my IV Pokemon.
On that subject, I'm having trouble again if any IV experts can help!
Here's the setup:
Male: Hidden Ability, Perfect Nature, 5 perfect IVs in HP, Atk, Sp. Atk, Def, Sp. Def, holding Everstone
Female: Hidden Abililty, Wrong Nature, Perfect IVs in HP, Atk, Speed, holding Destiny Knot
