Heh. That's basically a law of nature in the majority of my campaigns. There will, at some point, be something scary you can't beat. Don't try. Run away instead.
I tried doing this.
Then I realized that I mostly run D&D 3.5 pre-levels where Greater Teleport is available.
Then I realized that running is an elaborate way to commit suicide.

During one of my GURPS-based campeigns, a character had Jumper, which allowed him to hop around planes. He tried jumping with the party and critically failed... *BAM* And they're in the heart of the Abyss, in front of a mildly surprised Grim Reaper.
Fortunately, they had a Spiritcaller, who was able to summon an Angel to delay for a couple of rounds so that they could run far away...

Microsoft's latest update for Gleemax was buggy, and resulted in multicolor in every block since Lorwyn.
Hey if you want to give it another crack and die in a fitting manner just say the word giga.
Ah, the joy of Call. It's not "IF" you're gonna die, it's "WHEN" and "HOW," be it hideously at the hands of some godless aberration, or in the corner of some dank asylum.
That's what Avoidance Kata is for
I've realized that despite a few serious flaws, I love Exalted because of some of the ridiculous things in it.
The problem with things you cannot beat is that it can be difficult to tell when you cannot beat them and when you absolutely, positively cannot beat them. And, running into those kinds of threats can go very differently depending on the group - and if your in a system that allows overconfidence as a flaw.
And it seems to me that the problem isn't when you fall into the hands of their minions, but the claws/tentacles/grasping vines of their minions.
The thing I have with the Exponential systems like Exalted/WoD, etc is I feel they encourage min/maxing more than d20 or percentile systems- or rather, you get 'punished' by non-min/maxing by virtue of being just so much less useful than the specialists and not being able to make up the difference by the advantage glaned of Jack of Trades.

MTG: The RPG Character: Zenith RIP Krensae Fluidtail: Sleep well with the fish
Anyways, was just wondering if anyone else from this Clan is going to be hitting the Star City Games Legacy Open or the Grand Prix both of which are in Dallas / Fort Worth, Texas USA? The Star City Games Legacy Open is on the 20th of March (the Standard Open is the day before). The Grand Prix is on April 8th through 10th.
If anyone is going, I would be very much interested in meeting my fellow clan-mates!
Anyways sorry again for not being as active as I once was in this thread.
EDIT: Oh yeah, both events take place at the Fort Worth Convention Center despite being registered as SCG Open Dallas and Grand Prix Dallas.

I found a hilarious poster online. Is it a real advertisement or..? Has anyone seen it?
I gotta admit, I laughed.

You know, I could swear Amadi has told me this joke before, but it really is sad when the house cats of the world are more powerful than the commoners of the same world... I mean what does that say about me?
At any rate Final Fantasy XI is down for a whole week, and now I have next to nothing to do. So I am left with little option but to reread as many web comics as I can for the week.

Ugh. Poor Kennar. He's turning into such a bastard. Gonna throw an innocent woman to the vampires in his idiot quest for power. Hopefully he'll be able to come back from this.
Everything scares me... kitties scare me... squirrels scare me... corpses....corpses bring forth a pletora of confusing feeling which i prefer not to dwell on...:p

You're a red and black mage... Do you really need to come back from something like that?

I'm sure the vampires are just waiting for Kennar to turn into more of a jerk. Hopefully that doesn't happen, but I'm sure it will eventually. Particularly since vampires are prominent in Kennar's future.
P.S.: So Amadi, how are we gonna play in Talore's campaign after you get suspended for posting that huge annoying picture thing in the "worst song" thread?
Just kidding. Probably just an infraction.

I wonder if we could compile a list of all the evil things done by players in MTGRPG. Would it outweigh the good?
Depends on how much weight you give the good actions...
Unless you give a huge bonus for good deeds than I can assure you that the evil deeds far outweigh the good ones. We have too many neutral to evil oriented players for their to be enough good deeds to balance those acts out.
On another topic, why have you still not posted in your character's quest? You're so close to finishing and becoming the first planeswalker (Assuming you don't do something stupid) in the project.
It also depends on what you mean by good, and whether intentions matter. Do you consider the opening of new markets good? Saving a town from barbarians might be good, but does it still count of you only went for money or murder a relatively harmless child in the process? Are we using D&D 'good', or looking at the needs of the many, or something else.
Malconvoker requires you to be non-evil, but consorting with fiends in any manner is stated to be automatically and unquestionably evil. Jozan is a cleric of Pelor, a good god, but has prepared Symbol of Pain, an evil spell. Numerous examples of Lawful Good paladins fit the examples for lawful neutral or even lawful evil perfectly.
Countless of other examples. The alignment system was basically designed under a cocktail of intoxicating substances extracted from bone marrow of breakdancing space-jellyfish football coaches on an aeroplane swimming backwards in a pond of Alaskas.
