yeah i went to the pre-release had a dumb phyrexian pool but it didn't pan out in the end. Two vatmothers (1 foil) and I couldn't infect anyone for a win :/
I did get a gifts given and shahrazad and all my edh generals in foil now (except one). So that was a plus

I still need to foil out/japanese out my Thraximundar EDH and Karrthus EDH. It's a slow process...
In other news, looks like Roger is finally having some character development. Plus, second semester has begun and I'm looking forward to all of my classes.
I'm so excited for gameday, I really want one of those Black Sun's Zenith.
The song that got me hooked originally was Light up the Night, if that helps.

and acts without effort.
Teaching without verbosity,
producing without possessing,
creating without regard to result,
claiming nothing,

Heh...made a deck around that. 4 BSZ, 4 Massacre Wurms, 2 Necroskitter, 2 Midnight banshee...the deck takes a ltitle bit to get warmed up, but when it goes, it goes HARD!

Yeah, some of the zenith spells along with the beacons are going into Xen's satchel one day. Love those type of spells. >.<
Since I know you guys have heard of Skyrim already, it's allright to admit, how many of you had reaction like this?

I didn't go to the pre-re or the launch party, but I've been prepping for a PTQ that's this weekend. It's extended format and I'm running elves...but Midwest Masters is running the same day and starts about 5 hours later. MWM is standard, so if I scrub out with elves I can run ub control.
Anyone have any advice? It's been close to a year since I've done a major tourney...

Giga and KK: I'll be putting up the character creation thread for Empire Redux today. Please repost your character sheets in the thread with any changes you might have made listed somewhere in the post.

Oh gods. I lol'd heartily. Then I realized that's actually pretty close to what I did. For I am a nut for Elder Scrolls, Vikings, and epic music. So yeah, I didn't sleep much that night. And then whenever I want to be unnaturally pumped I play that song and start shaking. So yeah, can't wait for Skyrim!
On P&PI: I've been reading along bits at a time. When things are less busy at home, like when moving is done, I'll try to get back into a game. I've pretty much decided that one or two players should be a maximum for games here, considering how bad we are at keeping games afloat.
But keep in mind that just because he'll be basically unkillable doesn't mean he can't be beaten. Locking him in a box and tossing him into the ocean doesn't require any physical violence other than handcuffing him while he's asleep.
Not that I'm evil enough to do that or anything.
But yeah. Unkillable doesn't necessarily mean invincible. Just means you have to get creative.

That's for sure, just ask Jack Harkness about that one
Anyways, hey all, how's it hanging? Long time no chat
I have a new EDH deck in my possession that I can't wait to test out. It is a Kemba, Kha Regent Tokens deck. It looks like a lot of fun. I am also going to Grand Prix Dallas come April, so wish me luck with that. I don't expect to win the main event or even come anywhere close to it, but such is life. I will at least be participating in side events and getting cards signed and what not. So I hope to have some fun there.

I'll point out that 'ol Chuck 'imself isn't nearly as powerful as he's held to be. After all, he's only human.
My personal favorite way to deal with unkillable beings is chop them into a bunch of tiny pieces, put each piece in a different box, then scatter the boxes.
Alternatively, by never engaging in any sort of combat with them, ever. Preferable with some sort of Avoidance Kata to keep it that way.

Heh. That's basically a law of nature in the majority of my campaigns. There will, at some point, be something scary you can't beat. Don't try. Run away instead.

However, running away from the miniboss/boss when you're too weak to confront him puts you neatly in the hands of their minions... who are coincidentally about half your level, but the stress of having a timer hanging above your head makes the battle more stressful than it would be otherwise.

Microsoft's latest update for Gleemax was buggy, and resulted in multicolor in every block since Lorwyn.
That's what Avoidance Kata is for
I've realized that despite a few serious flaws, I love Exalted because of some of the ridiculous things in it.
The problem with things you cannot beat is that it can be difficult to tell when you cannot beat them and when you absolutely, positively cannot beat them. And, running into those kinds of threats can go very differently depending on the group - and if your in a system that allows overconfidence as a flaw.
And it seems to me that the problem isn't when you fall into the hands of their minions, but the claws/tentacles/grasping vines of their minions.
Oh exalted and the dumb things that can be led to do to virtue flaws and general character design flaws in general.
But then again the whole avoiding the things that can kill you is what call of cthulhu is all about. No matter how big and bad you are there is always going to be something that decides to eat you, destroy your sanity, or commit some other unspeakable act just around the corner waiting.

I drafted yesterday, I pulled THREE Corrupted conscience, TWO Inkmoth Nexus, a Spinx, and a Glissa... what a fun pool.
Needless today, I won that draft...

I'm probably not as excited as most, I got sick of morrowind and oblivion after a few hours of play. Though I'm hopeful I'll enjoy this one more.

Oh, certainly. Darksteel has taught me that, and while Meatshield might be a touch reckless at first, I expect a swift reality check for him.
