Things are very good Howler thanks for the kind words. I'll try and be better about not ignoring your guys. I'm back in school pursuing my masters and eventually my doctoral, out of the bar business (mostly), and living with a great guy. We're both trying to find that feeling of family that we lost from a previous relationship.
So how are things with you guys? I expect Howler is a proud papa by now, Mikey is no longer allowed to enter at least three states, and blue is happily serving life in a maximum security prison.

In what may I ask?

Actually haven't heard from blue in quite a long time....
I just finished writing a novella. Actually I think it's more of a novel even though it started as a novella, it came to 313 pages in word, size 10 font. Yeah, that's a novel.... but anyways, I just finished it! Three years in the making!!
Clinical psychology, focusing on adolescent, veterans, and GLBT issue.
Very cool, very cool.
A novel? That's awesome. Can you give us some details?
It's fairly personal and it's still yet to be edited at all, but basically it's a love story between two kids who grow up in the same small town. It starts with them as third graders and goes right on up to.... well actually I can't really say without giving it away. But it's good and I'm quite satisfied with how it ended.
I have been for over a year now. It hasn't been THAT long since we last connected is it? Unless you're inplying I wasn't a proud papa until recently. Which it totally untrue, I always have been. He's finally walking (sometimes, when he wants to), but still not talking.
I wouldn't call that pic so much broody as a first attempt, kraj. Although I have been brooding quite a bit lately. Life's been giving me the finger, and not in the way I like. The job market is horrible.
So the house my family is intending to move into has FINALLY been sold to us. For those who haven't seen, we've been trying to close on this house since May. Lots of trials and tribulations since then, but it's finally done. We'll be moving in soon.
But, the house is on the other side of the river in Metairie. Which, in almost every case, is a good thing. The bad part is that my job is over here. And it's going to be a commute 3-5 times as long as my current one. It only takes me 15 minutes to get there right now, so I'm good for spur of the moment shifts. It'll take me at least 45 minutes to get over the Huey P. Long bridge, more if the construction is active. And they shut down the bridge from time to time for some of it.
I told my boss that, over the next few months, I'm going to look into gas prices and travel times and may have to transfer stores. I don't want to, and I know he doesn't want me to, but it may be something I have to do. He understood. And then asked me if I'd be able to stay if I was able to replace my SGA. Keep in mind, SGA's a promotion and a half. Technically, it's two spaces up. We just don't have an LGA.
I'm ecstatic. I've been waiting for this since it was first offered to me in my original store back in June. And I've sort of been expecting it to happen around this time, given that my next review should be about now.
Minor bit of bad news, unrelated: Somehow, my sleep mask messed with my right eye. I'm not sure how. But my eye hurts like hell, and there's a marked lack of focus on it for reasons that are beyond me. Even with glasses, things are blurry. I'm not sure what's up. I'm worried it may have gotten scratched during REM sleep.

Awesome, congrats!

What do SGA and LGA stand for? And P.S., double congrats!
Its true.Ii waste my time poking my head in elsewhere. I worked there over the summer, as a key holder, but we were not a very good fit for each other.
Ah. Yeah, it's one of those jobs where you have to really like what you're doing. I enjoy talking to people, about video games in particular. I don't know if it's a place I can be for the LONG long term, but it's working fine for now.
Yeah, I'm kinda torn right now. This semester I'm working part time at a Parkinson's lab and also as an ESL tutor. Next semester I need to decide if I'm going to drop the tutoring job so I can work the full 22 hrs/week I was hired for at the lab. I'm really interested in the research I do on a theoretical level but sometimes the work is so tedious, but on the other hand I feel an immediate, more tangible sense of fulfillment when I help someone understand something about the English language.... but the other one is more important for my future.... blah, stupid adult decisions.

Ugghhh. I had a bunch of things to do today (choir rehearsal, Trans Day of Remembrance vigil, walk-in doctor's visit), and I am getting...none of them done.
Because I am stuck at home on the couch. Because I hurt all over and my brain is screwing me over.
I'd say something about working, since that seems to be the topic du jour, but I actually just decided to take a hiatus from my scribing job--see the previous sentence for why. Which means also that I have no source of income until my welfare cheque comes through at the end of the month.
All of you probably don't know me as this is my first post on this forum lol. I registered a while ago but have pretty much just forum lurked, I am Chaotix' BF you can have him to thank for getting me into magic. I live in queensland, Australia so yeah allos :3
Happy birthday Othitos. Hopefully I didn't miss it. Also, happy birthday blue, even as belated as it is. Still, belated blue's birthday. It needed to be said. I hope it was boisterous and bombastic.
And my elite gaming skills aren't much to speak of, really. I just play a LOT of games.
Miss ya buddy, how are things?
