Well, yeah, I know that, haha. Um, I'm planning to have a b-day party that day, but we can head out afterwards or the next morning. That'll work. And, of course, you'll be invited to the party.
Yeah, having anything linked to that day is kinda sad and crappy.
It's not legal yet, lol. I haven't even gotten a hit on craigslist for it. If it doesn't sell by Thursday, I'll be putting it on e-Bay.
Oh we'll go just saturday and sunday then? And be back before Sunday's end? Cuz I can handle that without using PTO. Of course this is all only if Nai wants visitors

I've always been a fan of the rap that she did for SNL shortly after V for Vendetta came out. It's great to see she has such a sense of humor about herself, which just makes her even more irresistable.
Haha, I remember seeing that for the first time when I was still a huge SNL fan and I was actually crying I was laughing so hard. The scene with the little girl is priceless!
Unfortunately, she also guest judged on Project Runway once and said, "I think sustainable fabrics is one of the most important issues our generation will face" and I was like... seriously? Are you that far removed from reality, Natalie?
Oh man, my friend showed me a clip of that and I definitely facepalmed hard. You know.... using the hand that wasn't busy doing something else
That was basically The Lonely Island before they actually formed The Lonely Island (both the Portman Rap and DiaB).
Don't forget about Lazy Sunday! That was the one that started it all It's probably still my favourite Samberg song... lately I think his gimmick has worn off.
Currently in the rectory. Only able to post because of internet browser on phone. Gonna get net here soon. Could be without for a week or more. Will update as more develops.
Hurry back soon! We miss our resident furry!
Which reminds me (oddly enough), has anyone ever heard of and/or read the graphic novel Blacksad? It's an amazingly done crime-noir story that has anthropomorphic characters that are amazingly utilized for effective visual storytelling.
And speaking of comics, did anyone hear about the anti-gay protests at Comic Con this year? Stupid teabaggers... thankfully Gail Simone is awesome.
Back from Washington DC. It was fun. Got to hear my sister sing Defying Gravity. It was amaaaaazing and better than Idina Menzel. Yeah. I said it.
Whoa whoa whoa... you're playing with fire here! I'm not doubting you, but Idina is simply incredible. I'm going to need proof before I can believe you!
Still working on 'net service. Gonna call cox tomorrow. But, there is good news. I've saved money by switchi-- er, that is, I can potentially get a job at gamestop again down here.
Yeah, we realize that honey. Do you not want us to visit you?

I'll see what I can do.
Nai: We know :-P That's not that far of a drive. We'd probably get to New Orleans by car faster than it takes to get to El Paso.
Driving in Texas is silly. I think it takes longer to get from Texarkana to El Paso than it does to get from DC to Maine.
So, what have I missed? Been busy these past couple of weeks. Took in some extra work load etc.
PS-Happy to announce I was mistaken and BF wasn't cheating. Bad mix of circumstance and a good talk cleared things up. Happy, happy, joy, joy!

If you guys wanna visit, you can. We can meet up in nawlins somewhere. Cafe du monde, or camellia grill. Or perhaps the zoo.
Mom is arriving tomorrow. Will at least have gaming systems. Cox is taking a while. They've apparently blocked the 719 area code because they don't service colorado. So I have to use a local phone to get to them.
Also, sounds like I'm very likely to get that gamestop job. Submitting application to gamestop tomorrow.
So, guess what guys?!? I won a brand new Samsung Intercept from work today! Unfortunately, I don't have Sprint service and can't use it...but I can sell it and get our car legal so I don't have to bum rides to/from work anymore! It's a good day today!
Cool for you ~ I haven't won anything from anywhere before...
I love starcraft too ~ Played the original one for years.
But I'll have to wait till the end of year to play SCII, since I only have my laptop with me while I study in Sydney and it'll probably not be able to handle such a new game :\
Oh, and on the topic of facebook, I'd like to add whoever here who has facebook too
So, my mother-in-law were on our way to see Eclipse, and I slipped on the stairs outside my house and broke my freaking foot! The metarsal bone in my right foot to be exact. Perfect! And, I just got to work and realized that I left my pain killers at home. It's going to be a loooooong freaking day!
So I never made it to D.C. Storms came through on Friday and hit the east coast Sun, so that entire time flights were getting cancelled left and right. It would have been shaky enough if I actually had a ticket, but travelling on benefits means I'm almost always drop-dead last on the standby list. So, yeah.
Instead I went to draft M11 though, and delightfully took 1st place out of 10-person pod. Generally I suck at drafting, but it just so happened that I kept getting passed good red from every pack and ended up with a monored deck. Apparently people feel red is generally bad in M11 and is mostly just a "splash for burn" color. Which is great because if it's underdrafted then you can force monored, and monored is... well it looks like this:

I'm quite excited. I expect to have no life for a few months.
Never played Starcraft but I've been looking at it and it seems really cool. Should I buy it or wait it out? I have a Mac with better than all of the basic systems requirements except my video card is only a GeForce 8600M GT (the bare minimum). Would it be worth it with that kind of a video card?

Aww shucks. See when I go to DC the bad weather goes away and every time I leave, D.C. cries. That happened last year too when I went to D.C. to visit my sister. Next time come a day earlier

Grr my card tags go to Gatherer which is down :(. That deck looks insane though. Fling is ridiculous and fireball with TWO Fire servants seems amazor.
Wow yeah that deck is silly good. I'll remember to try a mono red deck I hope you first picked Fireball cuz if that got passed for anything less than a baneslayer that person didn't know how to draft!

I don't know enough about graphic card performance to say, but my guess is you'll be fine considering the bare minimum on Mac is probably about as good as mid-range on a PC

Nope, Fireball was definitely passed to me, I think in pack 3. I actually passed a Fling at one point in favor of a creature (which I think was the right pick, as my creature count ended up being slightly low) and the most awful choice I had was choosing between Ember Hauler and Chandra's Outrage in pack 3. I ended up playing against the (cute) guy directly across from me, who was the only one heavily drafting red and, like me, just kept getting passed good stuff. He ended up with three Chandra's Outrages, an Ancient Hellkite, and bunch more good red, plus plenty of solid green cards.

Oh wow. Chandra's OUtrage is soooo good but creatures are really good in any limited format and ember hauler was def the right pick if you were low. Plus it's a bonus that you know you won't be facing that red opponent in the draft (or only in the last round)If you don't have creatures to back up your burn you're likely losing to white blue flying since your huge earth elemental blocks all groundpounders. So this could have fallen short but removal is the next best thing to creatures And you have 4 cheap firebreathing guys so it's likely you're getting in that massive damage one way or the other.
Hehe you fool! I just scored our copy as well. See ya'll in a few months
So as I was walking to the store to buy my digital crack, there was a Greenpeace hippie on the corner talking to people. For those of you not from a city, it's common for charities to send li'l worker bees onto street corners to talk to people, get their names on mailing lists, solicit donations, etc. In general I respect the work they're doing though I have no interest in talking to them or giving them money, so when a solicitor greets me I'll usually respond with a hello or something and keep walking. So this guy says, "Hi, how are you today?" I say, "Good, thank you." I haven't quite passed him yet so he attempts to continue the conversation with, "Do you care about the environment?" Now, I do, in fact, care about the environment. Not enough to go hug trees or crusade against evil corporations, but enough to recycle and pay higher prices for green products.
Anyway, my immediate reaction was to be annoyed by such a stupid question, to which any sane person could only respond to with "of course". So I decided to respond by lokking at him, clenching my fists, gritting my teeth, and saying, "I HATE the environment!" and kept walking. I was amused.
PS-Happy to announce I was mistaken and BF wasn't cheating. Bad mix of circumstance and a good talk cleared things up. Happy, happy, joy, joy!
That's great news! Now that it's all cleared up and (as Mal would say it) air through the engine, care to tell us what happened? It sounds like a potentially juicy story!

Psh, if he was cute I'm sure you would've changed your tone! I think your answer would have been more along the lines of, "yes, and I love trees. I can't get enough wood."

Kraj, I love you so much right now. I don't think there's any better way to respond to such self-righteousness.
Really it wasn't self-righteousness, it's just a b.s. tactic used by pretty much every charity to guilt/wheedle/maneuver people into donating. I see it constantly since part of my job is managing the charitable contributions my company makes, and after a while it just gets offensive.

He actually was kinda cute, but the whole hippie-dreds look ruined it.
I think I've got another good response ready for the next person who pulls that stuff, "No, no, no. That's not how you guilt people. I'm Catholic, let me show you how it's done..."

1 Thunder Strike
Oh, and the best game of the entire draft was WG vs. UB. The WG deck opened with:
T1: Goldenglow Moth
T2: Honor of the Pure
T3: Infantry Veteran
...
T9: Win.
Seriously, 20 points of damage, all done by a 0/1 flier. It was hilarious.
I'm quite excited. I expect to have no life for a few months.
