So, I'm working on a mechanic called shadedorm, and am wondering on how to go about it. I want the creature to come bank from the graveyard to pla- I mean the battlefield when it is put there from the battlefield. When it returns, it will most likely have the "shadepump" ability. Should I use tokens or flip the cards? I kinda want to do flip cards so I can add other abilities... Also, how broken is this?
Um. not too broken, as long as its a one time deal. And you can put abilities on tokens. Also to help make sure it isn't broken, put it on a non black card so it requires 2 colors at least to run.

Shadestorm (If this creature would be put into a graveyard from the battlefield, you may put a +1/+1 counter on it instead. If you do, you lose life equal to the number of +1/+1 counters on it.)
Not very, especially since if it dies after it "persists", it's gone forever.
Cool. I was looking at something of this design:
Name: :1mana::symw::symb: (R)
Creature - Human
Other non-shade creatures you comtrol get +1/+1.
Shadeform (when this creature is put into the graveyard from the battlefield, return it to the battlefield flipped.)
2/2

Name
Creature - Shade
Other shades you control get +1/+1.
:symb:: Name gets +1/+1 until end of turn.
2/2
@ Castle: that is really cool actually. But it isn't right for what I want. I'll probably use it in my set though, if you don't mind. Unkeyworded, though.
I opened one last year, got two crap worldwake packs and 8x scathe zombies, which I promptly hid around my sister's apartment for her roommates to find. But, yeah, it was a piece of crap.
You, sir, have just won the internet. Congratulations.

It's waaay more powerful, but combining the two abilities of the shade half into "B: Shades you control get +1/+1 until end of turn" would be much tastier.
EDIT: Also, keywording the flip condition is a bit redundant, unless you're not going to include reminder text on the card render. Remember that text space on flip cards is at a premium...

Sure, no worries, just make a card represtenting me with that ability.
I'm gonna pull a nooby question, Why is everything Bold and how come my card tags don't work?
You need to put the number first, then the card name, otherwise the deck tags sees them all as headings. If there's a number first, it's a card, if not, it's a heading.
Basically, the deck tags only recognise three things to determine the formatting: Numbers, brackets and the word "Sideboard". Everything else is a bolded heading.
EDIT: Cool... That's a lot of one-and-two-ofs, I take it you're trying to get a wider cross-section of vampire-related cards into the deck. I'll try to find my vamp deck for comparison, mine was a fast aggro build as well...
You know those days that there's so much going on that you don't know where to start?
Like, having this iPhone, and an iTunes account, with hundreds of thousands of useless and beautiful apps?
Or the complete spoiler? With colorshifted Uktabi Orangutan?
And having to go out to hang out with friends you haven't seen in a while?

I've only just added in the ROE cards now, so this has not actually been tested exactly as written here...
I added my sideboard on. I just realized I have a missing vampire hexmage. There are alot of ones and twos of. I'm kinda limited on my cards. Most of these i had to trade a few of my toes to friends just to get.
Why you use vampire lacerator?! There are so many other cheap-o vamps you could put in instead.
You'll have to get past me and my team of law-ninjas first!
Just make sure you keep them fed.
So, today I saw two of the tastiest cards I have seen in a while. A friend of mine knows a really good artist, and commissioned her to paint him two cards. A Baneslayer and a planeswalker Nico Bolas, both full art. The names and mana costs are at the bottom on the cards in their little box, and each card still has the black border around it. My friend says he was told that since there is the name, mana cost, and border, he could still use the cards legally, as long as he knows their abilities verbatim. Not sure if he is actually allowed to use them or not, but they sure looked epic.

Greetings Bul, it is nice to see you around. I'm a fan of RG and Spellbreaker Behemoth is a great card too. I like your sig too its very humorous. Well now that M11 is officially finished being spoiled (here's hoping Fling is true) I'm not surprised that Polymorph didnt' make the cut (yes we have mass polymorph but thats a different story). It's like WOTC doesn't want a combo deck to do well in the big league tournaments for a while (however Valakut Ramp is a good cheap deck to build). Hopefully Scars of Mirrodin will change that line of thinking.
Why you use vampire lacerator?! There are so many other cheap-o vamps you could put in instead.
It's been working reasonably well in the deck so far, to be honest I've never seen it as something that needs to be replaced. As a one-drop I suppose I could try Guul Draz Assassin, but I reckon it's just a little too slow.
EDIT: Looking again at all of the one-drop vampires available in ZEN block, I'm still sticking with Pulse Tracker and Vampire Lacerator. The upkeep damage drawback's not a big one in this deck (it'll usually get a couple of hits through, then trade, hopefully with a shaman on the table).
I'm not surprised that Polymorph didn't make the cut (yes we have Mass Polymorph but thats a different story). It's like WOTC doesn't want a combo deck to do well in the big league tournaments for a while.
But they still reprinted Voltaic Key and Silence, which are powerful combo enablers IMO...
I was a bit disappointed by the art on Infantry Veteran, which is clearly outdated and certainly subpar according to modern art standards.
Hello Dias, it's nice to meet you as well. My signature actually happened in a D&D campaign, that unfortunately fell apart, but no one really took it serious, as seen by the fact we kidnapped a goblin and named him Peaches.

Yeah their powerful enablers but the only card I see the key comboing off with is the new card they replaced Howling Mine but even then I'm not seeing much potential here.
Also finished playing Dead Space, it was one of those games that was on my list to play. It's fun ripping on it, if you've watched enough horror movies and played enough horror games you already expect 99% of the enemies coming....the ending was nice though so I'm ready for the sequel.
M11 is fully spoiled and rather nice. Deck ideas are running though my head now.
I've got to admit, this has been my favourite of the recent core sets. I still disagree with the new policy of printing new cards this way, but at least now they're using it to inject some thematic consistency and flavour. The planeswalker-character-related cards are definitely a step in the right direction (even if it's on the wrong track).
I'm fine with Protean Hydra getting a rarity drop. It still dies to everything that isn't nonlethal/deathtouch damage, and Phylactery Lich "feels" much more Mythic anyway.
White: damage prevention/life gain, weenie swarms and pump, big-ass Angels, "balanced" board-sweeping effects, artifact/enchantment destruction. I was okay, even, with white becoming a "color of spot removal"... but why is blue no longer "the flying color"? I saw this coming a bit with Zendikar, and was told that white's fliers have superior quality (compare Welkin Tern with Stormfront Pegasus, or Kor Aeronaut to Merfolk Wayfinder, or even Serra Angel to Air Elemental) but are outnumbered by blue's in quantity. Yet white's common fliers outnumber blue's total in M11, and its three rare fliers effortlessly crush blue's single one, Conundrum Sphinx. It saddens me a little. Stuff like Alluring Siren, Merfolk Spy, and Water Servant are okay, but I'd rather have plain ol' Snapping Drake back. (As an aside, Goblin Balloon Brigade and Shiv's Embrace bring up red's total of cards with "flying" in their text to a level even with blue's.)
White will be sick in draft. There are less than twenty creatures (excluding etbs, and mostly rare) that can do anything at all to meaningfully impact the game state while under Blinding Pacifism lock.
Right now, since the whole set is spoiled, I'm not looking at the cards' gameplay possibilities so much as considering "Which of these will cause me the most headaches at the prerelease?" (Whoever made the decision to exclude Harm's Way, a thousand praises upon you.)
Off topic - Where did you get that snippet in your sig, Jen? Did you write it?
I wrote the exact words myself, but the inspiration came from Terry Pratchett's Guards! Guards! (which itself parodies adventure fantasy stereotypes) and me wondering "how the heck are there several million planeswalkers on such a mana-devoid planet?".
In other news, I think I've just about got my deck for Seth's "random death" tournament... So many terrible, terrible cards that I've never had the opportunity to play with before, it's brilliant!
Hello and thank you Life_Weaver. I like your banner, it's different from the other color explainers and more interesting.

I've noticed this as well, and also that blue seems to be becoming more aggro, especially with Quest for Ula's Temple from worldwake. Many more blue fatties have been appearing, in my opinion anyway.
Who would you guys recommend to ask for a banner in the Avatar and Sig shops?

Unfortunately the shop that did my banner is on hiatus at the moment, and the particular member who made it has taken leave of the forum.
Seth is pretty handy with banners, and I used to dabble a bit in photoshop (OK, Paint Shop Pro, I couldn't afford Photoshop). I'd be happy to have a go if you've got a clear idea of what you're after.
If you want to go through one of the established graphics shops on the forum, I quite like the work of Krackshott from Kracked Graphics. Both of the guys at Maelstrom Graphics are good too. Probably best if you shop around and look at everyone's work before making your decision, a lot of it probably comes down to what kind of thing you want.
EDIT: I've found a really cool game in the Card Creation Forum... You guys should have a go. It looks a little complicated at first, but it's actually really simple, and leads to some strange design scenarios. Here's a link to the thread.

Props to Armored Cancrix, Merfolk Spy, Phantom Beast, new cards with great art.
I'm really liking some the new red and green of M11. Combust is excellent, since the only 4 cards that can survive without help are the two Titans, Vengeful Archon or Angelic Arbiter. Gaea's Revenge and Duskdale Wurm are just beastly. And Protean Hydra's getting a rarity drop?
