Fun doesn't exist in Magic anymore. You bring an unopened pack to my cube for the prize pool or get out!
That actually sounds like kind of a good idea...
My biggest problem talking people into cubes is that my friends like to collect cards. I have two main playgroups, at work and from my alma mater, and just *might* know four people in each who enjoy deck building and playing more than collecting. I guess that's enough, but it's been hard for me to cube so far.

I'll be sad if people don't start calling The Chain Veil "Fleetwood Mac."
That would be a terrible idea for us, since we do not care the slightest about booster packs. We have enough cards, and real format drafts we do on MODO. Everyone will try to win whether there are prizes or not, and when we don't spend money on packs, it is free for everyone to draft - forever
It sucks for you if your friends won't borrow you cards or donate for the "greater good". It's very expensive to build it just from your own cards, and you have to buy all the good cards. Luckily, my friends are just like me, and don't care about the collection aspect at all, so all of them are more than willing to ship their newly ripped Baneslayers (indeed, it was donated to me, along with a foil Garruk. One of my friends cracked them at GP Brighton) and planeswalkers and stuff so we all can have fun with them. A perfect system! Though not for Wizards, of course...

Yeahhh...
All my friends are really fun to play with, but they are all casual players. I know them either from work or college. The people at my FNM are nice for testing skill, but I don't really know most of them, and they seem like they just play standard.

The forty-card deck is my calling. I even 'invented' a limited format out of desperation... drafting isn't my playgroup's forté (i.e. they hate it).
Initiation please?

So guys... two weeks ago, when we started [Limited], we had until Friday, February 5th to get six active members. Today is Friday, and we have...
28!
This is incredible. It's been really awesome getting this clan off the ground, and it's been a nice extra space with all the energy worldwake is pumping back into limited. Thanks for joining, everyone.
Remember, if you don't want to see one of the clan mods coming by with a repo sign, we need six *active* members. So be sure to check in and participate, and be a part of [Limited]! In the interest of fun, I don't think there is going to be any guideline for participation... but make sure your "I'd like to join" post isn't your last one. The whole point of this, after all, is to start a community.
So far, so good! Onwards, [Limited]!

Well...I just got back from my LGS' WWK release party...I went 1-2 with a B deck splashing white for a Steppe Lynx (I needed the cards) and got over mana flooded.
Oh, and speaking of Clan business, are we entering this Clan contest thing? If so, what are we going to do for it?

As I said, I used to post in limited a decent amount back in the day. Check my post history if you're doubting my claim.
@ Usman - Added! You don't really have to apply to be a friend of limited, just ask. Although a recommendation from Bateleur doesn't hurt. Besides, I've seen you around. You don't post outside of cube much, but you seem like a good dude.
@ Clan Contest - Worst case scenario, we'll submit our sig banner. Technically, we did it after the clan contest was announced. It's only two weeks old. That wasn't my original plan, but I don't think I can do anything more than that, unless one of you guys wants to do a sig banner.
Right now I have the January art contest due on the 10th, an off-forum sequential art contest due on the 9th, art I'm taking home from my real job, and a commission due on the 22nd. So... I am swamped.
(Oh, and I haven't forgotten I owe you a sig banner, Neon-Chan.)
Is everyone cool with just submitting our thread banner for the contest? If not, someone needs to put forth an idea quick.
I must admit I've never cared too much for clan contests, even though this is my.. fifth? clan now So I'm fine with that.
I just made the top 8 in an Alara foil showdown The prizes are absolutely insane! I'm assured 24 packs for just reaching the top 8, and all you have to do to make top 8 is to win a draft. So compare this to a normal 4-3-2-2 (and it's nix tix too): 24-12-6-6! Where that 24 is the bare minimum for going 3-0. At best you can win two entire foil sets of Alara. Just ridiculous. I hope this will be the case for every foil showdown thingies for future sets, so sick!
So after experience, how do people like WWK limited?
I think blue is actually pretty strong, and at my release, everyone in my pod (of 8) except for like 1 person splashed some white.
Red is still meh, black is good but once you empty your hand you are, as the French *might* say, le screwed.
And I noticed green is the most well rounded and can really smash some face if you get a few Leatherback Baloths.
Well, Nakamura is in this clan, and from what I can see, he's a pretty wicked sig maker.
Wow. I did pretty well on Saturday. My record was 3-1. I won, lost, won, and won, earning me 4 Japanese worldwake packs. My matchups were against r/g aggro , b/g ramp, g/w allies, and u/b control (epic match). My deck was some black-white thing with a bunch of efficient creatures (Bojuka Brigand, that 2/2 for two that flies whenever landfall happens, Kazandu Blademaster) a bunch of good fliers/finishers (Vampire Nighthawk, Lightkeeper of Emeria, etc.) I had two Marshal's Anthem, which was an incredible spell. Total first-pick, if you draft.

Grats on the 3-1!
Yeah, I think we needed to get this contest thing rolling sooner. I don't know how to get hold of Namakura, and in any case, I'd feel bad asking someone to make a sig in a single day. Artists are busy people (as I myself know very well.)
Next clan contest, we'll get out s*** together. I'm just gonna submit the limited banner for this one, though.

Better than entering our Clan sig, I think.

I would be of no use to us on creating a banner, but would be happy to offer my vast experience as an art critic to let you know whether anything someone produces is any good. Doubt my credentials? Below is an excerpt of some of my writings:
"Bloodghast looks totally sweet! I like my vampires to have streamers of blood trailing from their big, nasty claws."
"Kaja and Phil Foglio suck."
Art analysis doesn't get any more in-depth than that, people!
It's more that people always overvalue removal. Really, if they make a card ":symb:: Sorcery: As an additional cost, get F'd in the A. Destroy target creature." people will say "removal is removal" and first-pick it.
Nakamura is going to work on something, but, if all else fails, I can throw something together. Mr. Stuff is in a clan, and so is Zaph, so that's a problem.
