Hey, I didn't really care about either group myself. And I'm sure that are some other girls and gays that didn't like all the popular boybands also.
Maybe I should start posting here again. I mean it has been three years since the CoffeeHouse was started and QuietArtist asked me to be his girlfriend. Now that we are married it's time to come back.
Edit: Damn, it costs money to get the fingerprints! Jeez, and the immigration prosses is already going to cost me at least $1,000 CAN. If anyone ever says that immigrating to a new country is easy, then they are wrong and have never actually tried it themselves.
Haha, welcome back, Sterling Angel! I think we still have your coffee card somewhere. Congrats again on the marriage.
The changes are mostly cosmetic yes. They will take some getting used to for players who've been around since even before the 6th edition rules change.

Hey, welcome back to the House, long time no see.
If you don't mind me asking, how far along are you in the process?
I've got a study permit, I've been on Canadian soil for about 8 months, but I'm desperate to get actual residence and a work permit because we're going broke with only one income trying to stay in the GTA.
I'm at the point now where I gather up all my police records and medical clearance, and ship my paperwork in. My husband offered to pay at first, but is now balking and refuses because it is "too expensive". He knows nothing...it's not a walk in the park, not meant to be easy or cheap...it's deliberately very particular and the few companies or entities who are willing to meet the many requirements of the CIC, charge top dollar for their services!
I know its a bit late (I was at work all day), but the only rule change I dislike is the combat damage change.
THAT SUCKS!
Just who the hell was in all these WotC focus groups? You'd think some of the newer guys they'd brought on board would have fought harder. Something stinks. I for one, loved chump-blocking with a Bile Urchin and sac'ing it mid-combat to strike back. I had an awesome deck that relied on that early game strategy.
Before we move on to more 'casual' topic, I sorta promise that I will post what I thought about the new rules changes. Now with a much refreshed mind, I can more or less understand what's happening.
1. Mulligan changes.
Don't really affect me that much: it's pretty much the same with how I do it pre-M10.
2. Template changes.
Well, with the exception of Battlefield, I likes most of the changes. 'Exile' reminds people that RFG, despite how it previously named, is still inside a game. (Only sideboards are considered outside cards) 'Cast', 'Activate' work better than the old 'Play', and the wording of the EOT triggers, the one I like the most, is definitely more accurate in describing what it really does. While the 'Battlefield' usage may sounds a bit weird, but I can understand the reasoning behind it: CIP abilities are confusing, at least to beginners. And besides, they don't really affect gameplays. If you don't like the terms, you can always create one. For instance, I will use 'Field' to refer to the Battlefield, because it has fewer letters.
3. Mana burn omission
Before everyone knows about the combat damages change, this topic is the most hotly debated topic in the Rumour forum, until the combat damages change stole the crown from it, and with good reason IMHO: mana burn rarely occurs in gameplays, and when it does, it's really annoying. Even to this day, I only got 1 or 2 mana burns in more than a hundred gameplays, so I'm glad it's gone. Not to mention the design spaces the omission while create, and interesting of how WoTC gonna use it.
And again, the fact that now mana pool empty every steps instead of phases didn't affect me much: like the mulligan rule, it's similiar of how I handle the mana pre-M10.
4. Combat damages change
The largest change make in M10 is no doubt the combat damages change. Again, I have no problem with it. Sure, cards like Mogg Fanatics are going to be nerfed down, but I'm fine with that. The change will force people to make strategic choices when it comes to combat, and without 'clever' plays involving the combat damages stack. I will hold my judgement to it until I see how well it works in real gameplays.
5. Deathtouch and Lifelink
Well Deathtouch's change didn't affect my current metagame (T2), Lifelink is. No more multiple Lifelink gains, which makes me a happy man.
In conclusion, I have no problem with most of the changes, and still fail to see why people can go apes when it comes to major changes. Take a breath, relax, and try it yourself before screaming 'TIS IS ZA N O MAGIC!111!!11!!'
Now back to more casual topic, I wonder how many people here use Twitter? Still amazed on how only 10% of the user generate 90% of the Twitter contents...

Keeper read Sulendil's post, at the very bottom he asks about Twitter thats what im replying to, im already tired of addressing the M10 issue so im not touching that anymore

oh, okay. yeah, i agree with that. the M10 changes has been the general topic for this week and even last week. it's nice talking about another topic for a change.
i don't tweet either. i know this guy who thought that signing up was a good idea, but all he received from the site was spam.

But isnt that the whole point of Twitter, Myspace and similar networking sites???
Since we are in the topic, I must say I love my wife's excuse for her account "I need it for work" I love it because while true (she does online marketing for a few projects so she needs to keep in touch of all these in things), i cant help but teasing her with stuff like "nah you just want to see what Brad Pitt is having for breakfast" and "See if Elmo is tweeting!"
Dude, Myspace is nothing but bulletin and message spam from people you hardly know trying to get you to play time wasting, challengeless games with them.

ouch, haha. and she never gets irritated? but they also talk about movies and stuff in twitter, right?
I have an account, but I see it as mindless, really.. I prefer Facebook, honestly. Facebook you can actually do stuff in addition to status updates- keep in touch with people, write notes, and play cool games like Bejeweled (all the other games and quizzes on FB are lame, however lol)
So, it's 8am, and my coffee and bagel are calling me... I'm going to go make my coffee and then get some work done I'll check in later, fellas
Oh and of course I can't forget to welcome back Sterling Angel!! How the heck have you been!? It's been way too long since you've been around these parts Maaaaaan so much has changed in the past 3 years, huh?
And Snoop- I'm really sorry it's taking you so long to properly get everything worked out... I hope you're happy for the time being, though.. I know it's got to be nervewracking, knowing you might get deported, but at least you're with the one you love, right??

Facebook is very, very useful for keeping in touch with contacts. I use it to stay in touch with other people that I've met in Japan, even though we're not in the same area any more, and some of them have moved on to other countries. 99% of the applications on there are utterly worthless, though. I recently installed a Greasemonkey script called "Facebook Purity" that automatically removes all quizzes, games, and other annoying updates from my news feed. Works like a charm. I don't have to see people's "I took XXXXX quiz" or "I got XXXXX score on this game" or "I grew some vegetables in PotatoTown" any more.

Heck yeah... How've you been? It's been freakin' forever, yeah? I feel like I barely know you, and you probably want to catch up with some of us... what's going on in your life lately?
And Snoop- I'm really sorry it's taking you so long to properly get everything worked out... I hope you're happy for the time being, though.. I know it's got to be nervewracking, knowing you might get deported, but at least you're with the one you love, right??
And you hang in there, Starr. I know things will work out for you. Immigration sounds like more of a pain than I ever thought it would be.
Unrelated good news. Today is my last day of High School!!
You're a lucky individual! I still have another exam today and then two more tomorrow before I can say I'm done with school.
I'm actually guilty of mis-appropriating facebook as a time sink... those game apps may be pointless, but they can sometimes be great fun! Sometimes. About 10% of them are decent at any rate.
Second attempt at posting in here... *shy, shifty cross-room gazes and other intimidated nervous tics*
Hey, welcome there. Don't be shy. Have a seat, and tell us a bit about yourself.
Hrmm. Anybody remember the last time we introduced ourselves? The old regulars, I mean. I honestly don't. Maybe it's time we did; we've got a quite a lot of newer people in here. Well, at any rate, Renner, if you want to hear any of our stories, mine included, just ask. I feel like an old grandpa when it comes to this place any more.

Haha! I actually wanted to post a welcome post to you, which unfortunately, I forget to do so in the heat of discussing the new rule changes. So welcome to Coffeeshop! You can order a drink, sit back, and enjoy!
BTW, never realise you can play Bejeweled in Facebook. But then, I don't use it often: it's just a tool I used to connect to friends sometimes. I use Friendster more.
This wouldn't be nearly as worrisome an exam except for the fact that this is the one time in the entire year we've had or will have to follow a writing prompt stricter than "poem" or "science fiction."

However i must say it was the next logical step considering the current celebrity obsession.
yeah, you can petition them here.
celebrity obsession? what does that have to do with the changes in M10? or did I miss something?
I will not sign a petition with such poor choices of words.
