The thing is, 4th edition has almost no support, and honestly... it's a solid system, but it lacks that.. flair. That panache. That razzle dazzle. That certain something that makes it fun. Even the new books felt artificial to me. The Draconomicon told me nothing new, and Martial Powers looked neat, but I want to see the spellcaster's equivalent. And I want my Bard/Barbarian!
[Insert obligatory comment basically stating: "I hate to say this, but I told you so." here]
No, really. Basically what 4E lacks is detail. 3.5E had what? Pages of backstories, fluff, strategies and all that with every monster. 4E has a few lines that are mostly useful for telling what the monster looks like. Basically what I feel like is that they're reproducing 3.5E content in simplified form - Almost everything that you can do in 4E you could do in 3.5E.
Yeah, I gotta admit that it's solid, working allright, faster combats and so on, but yeah..

Is there anyone here who has played dota? Would there be players interested to play an rpg of dota? (witch means that on eof those players have to dm it. :p)
I've played that game way too much, I gotta admit. Heck, I've played it since the rumble came out in.. Well, a little after WC3 was released.
While some of the characters there are probably quite playable, I'm not sure how it would turn out. We would have to use a lot of imagination, because playing RP when you can do four things seems quite lame. I call dibs on Mangix if we ever start this, though.
Also.. Sepiriel, I think we all knew that you're evil but I think you might've crossed the line this time. Seriously, I clicked on that link expecting something horrible, but what I found simply blew my brains at the window behind me, through it on the street and atop some unlucky fellow walking his dog there.

I don't mean to get off topic here but I was wondering if any of you played infinite undiscoveries? It's an console RPG either for the xbox 360 or playstation 3. From the commericials and what I have seen of it the game just looks totally amazing but I am just guessing here.
Oh yeah I would also like to revive my membership of being a friend of Natural 20 as well.
I would love to play it, i keep reading interesting things about it, sadly i cant afford a ps3 right now and buying a 360 here would be a complete waste of money since theres almost no support here (so im screwed if i get RRoD), AND i have little kids which means the chances of them bumping the console or the STAND where the console is are high which means the risk of scratched ruined games is also high (the damage rate is insane, its a design flaw Micro$uck knew was in effect and still did nothing to correct, whats worst they try to cover it up by claiming they warn against it in the users manual, but how can you claim good business practice when simply thumping the stand slightly can cause a disk to scratch beyond repair?)

Bleah. Can't be worse than the trials for Planar Chaos. It involves giving AoK an in depth speech as to why Faerie decks are the best thing to happen to Magic ever.
I'm in a D&D lull right now. My DM is sick alot and he had to go to the hospital for shortness of breath on Sunday. He's got a terminal condition but it seems like it'll be the side effects that get him. His sister said he might still run the game this week but I doubt it. The last few sessions got ended early because he was in severe pain and with so much ice on the road he really shouldn't be driving.
I'm still too inexperienced to play with most of the gamers I know. Plus, quite a few groups are trying 4.0 out and I'm not ready to play something with so little source material. 4.0 is too much like a video game for my liking anyway.
Unfortunately I have almost no D&D in my life at the moment. I've got a new girl and a lot going on right now, though I am teaching my girl to play and we'll probably start up Curse of the Azure Bonds when classes start.
D&D is quickly becoming a legend of the past for me, sadly, nobody I know seems particularly interested in starting up any games. Oh well, I plan on pushing them until they eventually agree. Not aggressively of course, subtly. I'll get better results that way.

DAMNIT: I should never have to shred my own character sheet in frustration.
I've been browsing through the clans, and except of ARD, I wouldn't really fit in any of them (unless there's a grammar nazi clan). I hardly make enough decks to belong in ARD, anyway.
So, with the playing of the D&D and the desire to be geeking out on other PNP RPGs, is I can be joining/hazed/kidnapped?
I'd like to actually be in a clan that I can relate to.
(Don't mind my attempt at funny grammar.)

This seems a little...spikey. And hole inducing. Are you sure this is normal?
RPG wise, I have an unhealthy obsession with making my 3.5e (D&D) cleric perfect and borderline broken. I'm pretty sure it's because my playgroup seems to think that the cleric is only useful for healing. So far, I can do some crazy things, like automatically destroy all undead within 30 feet, regardless of the undead's level/CR/hit die/turn resistance...even when I'm level 1. The list cotinues; I'll try not to rot your brain.
Otherwise, I had a brief foray into Exalted (the game, not the mechanic) before my brain exploded. My friends are trying to get me back into it, but I'm reluctant.
What else...
Mass Effect is pretty darn good. So is Fallout (haven't played 1, played 2, in the middle of 3). Final Fantasy Tactics (Advance) is what I waste my time with on airplanes...I'm not a huge video game RPG nut, mostly because they have a way of being really addictive. So technically, I try not to be a video game RPG nut.
I assume you mean experience regarding RPGs. PNP wise, I started relatively recently...something like 1.5 years ago? Eh, regardless, we were playing D&D 3.5 but the game eventually stopped because the whole party was ridiculously overpowered. We killed (and permanently vanquished) a/the tarrasque at level 5.
Yeah.
We recently started a new 3.5 game in Forgotten Realms. I'm DMing as well as playing, mostly because that's the tradition with our group.

Your group sounds like Amadi's dream playgroup and yes Clerics are more than just band aids (although i dont play casters so i cant share stories :p)
Me i prefer clunky systems that have little or no support incarnum, warlocks, shadow magic these are my usual, though i can dip into regular stuff if im bored

I'm assuming that this Amadi fellow has issues running anything this side of sanity?
Browsing through the past pages, I saw some people talking about Guild Wars. I forgot to mention that I play GW as well.

If I had the money, I'd probably give WoW a shot. I don't know, though, it...I...I just have issues with it, and let's leave it at that.

anyways... I want someone to start a new campaign in pnpi (I didn't notice alacar's for some stupid reason) :stupid:.
We've literally done nothing so far. You should see if he'd let you make a character.
