Look at that, you do not pay attention in 2 months and everything changed. I am glade to see the clan is a clan again, this is really the only clan where i feel i fit in. Jupiter is still cool, I hood winked a few cards from it for my draft set (the cards I made) because i thought it was dead. If I recall i was the last one to post cards on the different color threads and still have a few cards that where "pending approve." I really liked the red and blue Legendary cards I had made for them. I am sure they need some work though. If more of the story line for the other colors comes out I would love to make some more cards for them.
I could be me I could be blind, lost even. What do you have to do to look at the current progress of the Jupiter? The wiki is asking for a password to access it. All of the color threads are closed. I have no idea where the project sits. So a little help and direction could be useful.
On another topic I put up my first blog on my current set Sagittaron. Just the outline and some of the concept stuff. Which reminds me; If any of you guys have read the early magic books, I'm looking for references to Feldon of Feldon's cane. I want to build a story line but would hate to tromp on existing magic history.
Try using the automatic reminder text of e.g. Amplify - it contains an additional "and/or", because of the empty placeholder subtype. (already fixed in the devopment-version, but your MSE 3.5 has that bug, too! :D)
I noticed that using {if has_pt() then . . .} in keywords doesn't work. You have to hide and re-reveal reminder text each time you load the set. Kind of annoying.
I don't think it really distinguishes rather than simply asuming the first is race and everything else is class. But I haven't tested it yet...
Awww, I really thought it knew the difference between races and classes. Well, on the bright side I instinctively knew to put race first on each creature in my set.
So we sure could use a topic to liven things up in here. I'm getting tired of looking to see that my post was the last one. Maybe it's time for a clan check in. Just to see who's still paying attention.
I'm looking forward to Lorwyn. I'm sure that if I draft a planeswalker at the prerelease I'll be playing that color. there's a good topic...
Which Prerelease are you going to?
I'll be at the one in Denver on Saturday only. I can't wait. It'll be my 16th consecutive prerelease.
@ zasz234: Thanks for the link to the wiki, that helped a lot. And thanks for the access to the R&D wiki. I should have the permissions straightened out on my blog. Like I said earlier I just have the rough outline of color, rarity, and quantity laid out in the blog. I should start tossing some cards up there, but I'm wary to put it in a post feels more final that way.
I can try to join here, right? I just post three cards of my own design?

In Pod 2 I took 13th of 60 at the Denver Lorwyn Prerelease. I'm pretty pleased. 3 round wins, 1 Draw and 1 Loss. Won 5 packs for 13th place, won another in a pack round, and the split the other pack on a draw during the other pack round. Using the tribal aspect was much more important in this set in comparison to Onslaught. Well here's the deck to bad the links won't work for a week or two.
Kraj, I can see that you have your hands in a lot of things on MTGS I don't blame you for trying to drop a some of the responsibility. So that brings the question does anyone want the position? Or is R&D truly dying?
My understanding is that R&D is built on a card designing/development basis. However, what does that offer that the Custom Sets and Cards forum doesn't? If we serve only to seem a little more 'elite' than those in the CSaC forum, it's not really enough to hold the clan together.
Having said that, I would be more than happy to keep the R&D open - when it's been working, I've really enjoyed it. And I've been here long enough to want to keep it going! I think we need to find some common ground. And I maintain that scrapping Jupiter should be considered.
Y'all go debate.
'Fox.
I think that the point was ultimately it offered a place for the stronger card creators on the forum to get together and design sets, etc. The problem is none of us (myself included) seems to be truly devoted to the whole thing. Real life just has the most annoying tendency to get in the way. I'm here in college now, and when I'm bored (which is becoming more frequent) I've begun coming on here and joining contests. I may wind up spending more time here, though I won't make any promises regarding that. I designed a card for October CCL contest, which is being regarded as overpowered at it's cost. I didn't and still don't feel like it is, but I'm beginning to think perhaps I should have costed it 1 more. I would like to hear your opinions if you would proffer them.
At the end of each turn, return to play all Kithkin creature cards in your graveyard that were put into your graveyard from play this turn. Those creatures are 0/0 and Spirits in addition to their other types.
Kithkin you control get +1/+1 for each Spirit you control.
Kithkin who are found to be particularly thoughtweft are sent to Shadowmoor so they might train with Utburr. They return so sensitive, they can feel even fallen clach-mates. 1/3
Heh, well, thanks for your response Shadowfox. Don't really have anywhere else to ask about this, though it was pretty much universally considered to be "Broken Beyond Belief" among the contestants. Oh well.
Mornin' everyone! Got this card that I'm not entirely too sure how to word because of all the templating changes recently. Here's the card:
Tarface Warrior :3mana::symb:
Creature - Skeleton Horror Warrior
Tarface Warrior comes into play with a tar counter on it.
Fear
:1mana::symb:, Remove a tar counter from Tarface Warrior: Target creature gets -3/-3 until end of turn and Tarface Warrior loses Horror creature type and fear.
:1mana::symb:: Regenerate Tarface Warrior.
3/1
It's that middle ability that I'm not sure how to word. Is it loses fear and Horror simply or is it something else I have no clue about?
Also, purely for fun:
Viral Infection :1mana::symg::symu:
Enchantment - Aura
Enchant Planeswalker
Players can't play activated abilities of enchanted Planeswalker. "Peek! ACHOO!"
Thought that would be a good use of some CORNY flavor text.
Fear
Tarface Warrior comes into play with a tar counter on it. 1B, Remove a tar counter from Tarface Warrior: Target creature gets -3/-3. Tarface Warrior becomes a Skeleton Warrior and loses Fear. 1B: Regenerate Tarface Warrior.
3/1
To my knowledge, that's the only creature that loses a type, so that's most likely the right way to word it. That said, it's still an incredibly clunky thing.
Viral Infection looks good aside from it's flavor text, which is unforgivable.
To my knowledge, that's the only creature that loses a type, so that's most likely the right way to word it. That said, it's still an incredibly clunky thing.
Thanks for helping me there. Anyway, most of my cards are pretty clunky... I like jamming it with flavorful abilities. It'd probably still be good even without the regenerate - at the very least, in the limited formats it'd be useful.
Viral Infection: Yeah. I figure it's fine for me to throw out something like that for a one-time gag but if I ever see that on a WotC card in the flavor text I'm suing for damage to my funny bone.
Well Fox, since your card has no mana cost thus making the only way for it to come into play is through a means other than playing it, thus forgoing the kicker abilities and costs. So, something that's quite difficult to get into play that does nothing once it does is probably a little weak.
Assuming you mean it to actually have a cost, it's an intriguing mechanic. I'd probably cost it at 2. Considering that's similar to Copy Enchantment or Sculpting Steel, and the extra utility is counterbalanced by having to play it on a spell (And when relating to Fork, which already does have to target something on the spell, has to cost 1 more.) The black ability is a conundrum, my first idea, too, was a card in a graveyard. Then I thought, a card that was put into a graveyard this turn, following the other abilities in the sense of how you had a set of time where you had to use it, but then I realized one could wait until another spell resolved and play it essentially as though it were the blue or red trigger. I think the best answer to this is "Target permanent card that was put into a graveyard this turn," since that does wind up giving black it's identity without breaking the ability and also somewhat fitting into the other abilities.
:symr:: Mudbutton Flamescourger gets +1/+0 until end of turn. If this ability has resolved four or more times this turn, sacrifice a creature and Mudbutton Flamescourger gets an additional +1/+0 until end of turn.
Reminisce Goblins -- Mudbutton Flamescourger gets +3/+3 and has Flying. (This gets +3/+3 and has Flying as long as the top card of your graveyard is a Goblin.)
A Flamescourger’s bite is one of the few things a Boggart yet yearns to experience. This is convenient, as Boggarts happen to be a Flamescourger’s favorite food. 2/2

I can not be sure just how powerful this is. I feel that it's about as powerful as Fledgling Dragon, but I'd like to see what you all think.
Kraj has informed me that he is no longer your rep. As a matter of fact, your first post would seem to indicate that he is no longer a member, and as the mod himself authored that post, I assume it has no small authority on the matter.
Anyway, the next clan contest is being discussed at the moment, and you guys should probably pick a clan rep. It looks like it's going to be a card creation contest, too. So that would be exactly the kind of soup you guys like, right?
Thanks for the info wamyc. We should probably put up a new thread as well if this is going to go on since Kraj is the only one who has control of the front post.
Also, Alabran: I really don't think it's too powerful since it's very similar to Fledgling Dragon except a bit more narrow. Still think it's a really good card though.
Anyway, I haven't been too much in the designing mood in the past few weeks but these last few days I've been getting some ideas. Nothing so much as for a set but some random things... and as usual wordy. I'll post some here later once we get things straightened out.
Happy Halloween to every one!
It's time for us to pick a new clan rep. We need a plan for going forward. No one else is coming up with one so here goes.
1. Are there any requirements we want or new clan rep to meet? (post these now.)
2. Lets use this thread to accept nominations for clan rep. (hold of till we have a base line for the rep req's)
3. After X days well put the nominees to a vote.
4. The winner will start the new clan thread.
I would put my name forward, too, only while I have been a long-time member, the last couple times I said I'd become a regular poster, it didn't happen. I might now that I'm a college student (ironically) I seem to have less to do than I did before. I would also vote for Shadowfox, though I'm well aware how much work being a TA is (congratulations by the way!) So, I'll put my name out there and wait for any others to volunteer their own names.
Here's the unflavored dragon, as asked. I must admit it looks better, though I still wish the flavor text was there.
I'd put myself forward for clan rep but I really am not posting regularly plus I have a lot of other things on my mind lately besides Magic and card creation. If it really comes down to it though I suppose I could do it...
Also, a card with a potential balance problem:
Legends of Evanhearth :symg::symw::symw:
Legendary Enchantment
Creatures you control get +1/+1.
Whenever you play a non-mana activated ability of a nonland permanent for the first time in a turn, untap that permanent.
OK a bit complicated but I'm hoping people understand what it does...
