0-2 with Warp World Reveilark
Hit fairies in first two rounds and got a game loss for wrong amount of cards in sideboards I guess writing down 4 Teferis Moat instead of 3 is bad enough for a game loss.
ouch, yeah writting down the wrong number of cards, even if it is off just by one, will get you a game loss... which is why I use MWS to print off a list of my cards in my deck before major events like that just to make sure I have the right list going before I go to a major event... it helps that if you have the payed version of MWS it prints out DCI sanctioned report sheets so you don't have to copy it over a second time once you get there!
Unfortunately I don't have the payed version yet.

Thanks to Le_Gambit at ►►æтђєг◄◄ for the awesome Banner.
I don't know what was wrong with me at Regionals, but I like, totally scrubbed out (I had to drop when I was at 2-3-1 because I borrowed some cards and the dude was leaving). Two of my matches I could have easily had if I hadn't made colossal mistakes... So here's how I got paired up.
Match 1 - R/G Ramp, he wins the die roll.
Game 1 - Not a lot of action on my end... I do end up getting a Bitterblossom but playing against Ramp of course I'm facing down Threshers/Firespouts. So he keeps wiping my board... Plays out an early colossus which I Oblivion Ring... Eventually he gets Treetop Villages which I can't for the life of me somehow deal with... So we go to game two.
Game 2 - Cakewalk in my favour. Basically the game went turn 2 Bitterblossom, turn 3 Spectral Procession, turn 4 Ajani Goldmane... He didn't have a Firespout. So I murdered him quickly.
Game 3 - This was one of my "big mistake games". It was a long drawn out affair, but basically to cut it short, I had a Bitterblossom, two Kitchen Finks (one with a -1/-1 counter on it) and 3 tokens (one sick) from Bitterblossom. I had Godhead of Awe and Mirrorweave in hand. I go to alpha strike into his Chameleon Colossus and Wall of Roots... He blocks the -1/-1 countered finks with colossus, and blocks the other finks with wall... And for some reason, I decide to play Mirrorweave into his Colossus (thus not killing his colossus, and trading with his wall of roots) to swing in for 8 damage leaving him at 8. If I had played godhead of awe, I would have only lost the one finks, he wouldve lost both dudes, and when he goes to cloudthresher the next turn... I would have something to protect my army. I don't know what possessed me to make that move, but that's how the cookie crumbled... I would've lost, but we went to turn 5 and it was a draw.
Standing: 0-0-1
Match 2 - R/G Goblin Liege.dec
Game 1 - This was pretty close. He led off with that 2/1 for 1(G/R) that lets you give your creatures +1/+0 and trample to if they were blocked. He then leads out with a Boar Tusk Liege... Then a Boggart Ram Gang... He got me down to 4 life before I stabilized with Wrath. I played Finks to get some life back, Finks again Finks again... By the time he drew into some burn, he was dead.
Game 2 - He was a complete idiot and kept a 1 land hand on the play. He stayed at 1 mana for most of the game while I made an army and just nuked him.
Standings: 1-0-1
Match 3 - R/G Ramp... Again
Game 1 - After fighting through tons of board removal, and removing his creatures all over the place multiple times over, eventually I ran out of gas and he killed me with Chameleon Colossus. It wasn't a terribly exciting game.
Game 2 - Much more interesting... I had to fight through a Magus of the Moon a little bit, but I had 2 plains so I was perfectly fine. I managed to keep all the large threats off the board, and eventually I laid out two Bitterblossoms and an Ajani Goldmane. He held them off with wipe for a while, but he eventually got drowned in huge tokens.
Game 3 - This game was boring. I had a pretty decent opening hand, but then I drew just garbage after that. I mean like, real garbage... Thoughtseizes when he's already emptied has hand and has a Magus out... Multiple Ajanis... Multiple Bitterblossoms... It was just gross. My deck wasn't cooperating at this point.
Standings: 1-1-1
Match 4 - U/B Faeries
Game 1 - Although I put up a pretty good fight this game, the fact that I had to mulligan to 5 really hurt me... The fact that he led out with an Ancestral Vision suspend was just bad news. I could never really mount any kind of offensive.
Game 2 - This is what I hoping to do... I basically won this game as ideally as I could possibly imagine. I'm on the play, I lead out with a Vivid Marsh. Turn 2, lay out Windbrisk Heights, tuck a Crovax underneath it and thoughtseize him. Turn three, Spectral Procession, turn four, attack and flip over Crovax. He fought me for a little bit, but by that point he was taking some serious damage from the useless bitterblossom out and my three 2/2 tokens.
Game 3 - This is the game where I made a COLOSSAL mistake. Basically, the board was a bunch of 1/1 Faeries, a Mistbind (bitterblossom obviously too) and he had some Mutavaults. I had a Stonecloaker in play, a Kitchen Finks in hand, a Thoughtseize in hand and a Crovax in hand. He goes to tap 5 mana to play Masticore then decides not to... Now I don't know what possessed me AGAIN, but I was doing things backwards today... I decide to go to powerplay Crovax (when he just let me know he had a counter by staying open) when I could have thoughtseized, stripped him of his counter, go to play finks then NEXT turn Crovax when he's out of gas. But I didn't... He countered it. Then next turn I play a useless Finks and a now useless thoughtseize...
Standings: 1-2-1
By this point I was thinking of dropping, but I figured I MIGHT be able to somehow squeek into the Top 8 if I got really lucky.
Match 5 - Black/Red Anti-Faeries something-or-other.
Game 1 - I never really figured out what he was playing... As all he played were two Ghitu Encampments, some mountains and... That was it. I trashed him.
Game 2 - Now is when I find out he's playing black when I thought he was playing a bad RDW... Didn't really matter though. My Epochrasites and Bitterblossoms just kept coming back from his removal, and eventually I drew into some Processions and just mauled him.
Standings: 2-2-1
Match 6 - Quick n' Toast
Game 1- I knew I was in trouble right away because I hadn't had the time to properly playtest this matchup. I got drowned by his card advantage once I ran out of gas.
Game 2 - Basically same deal as game 1... I didn't draw into my out (i.e. Mirrorweave) against Thresher... So I died fairly quickly.
Standings: 2-3-1
By this point, my buddy was leaving and since there was no way I was top8ing, I gave him his cards back and dropped.
So yeah... I didn't do so well, but at least I have some ideas as to how to retune my deck, and I'm going to try and make it into Nats by going to the Grinders event. So I'm getting back into deckbuilding mode.
How I made those two really bad mistakes I'm not exactly sure... I guess I was tired (got to bed at 1, woke up at 4) but STILL... I felt awake and ready to go, I didn't *FEEL* tired... So I made a couple of friends there who want to start a playtesting group and I'm definitely joining up with them and we're all going to be developing our builds together. So all was not lost... As said, I need to tweak my deck a little more, but I know she's got enough juice in her to compete (I wasn't really discouraged by this event) since I scrubbed mainly due to player error as opposed to the deck just not being strong enough (I had answers in most matchups, it's just I critically misplayed them).
I didn't see as many elves around as I would have liked... If I had gotten paired against some elves this would've been a very different tournament report, lol, as I simply annihilate elves without much compunction... But that's the way these things go sometimes. So oh well... As said, it was a good learning experience and it gets my feet wet after some years of no competitive action at all... So I'm redoubled my efforts and am fully planning to take the Grinders event on the 1st of August.
How did everyone else do?
EDIT: @ Stick - I always memorize my deck contents so that I can ring it off instantly without any thought. Then, when you go to register your deck, go somewhere far away from everybody else and just make sure you have the contents of the deck you SHOULD have. Then when you write everything down, there's no way that something can go wrong basically.
There are regionals in Norway these times, but job+exams make me unable to go. Luckily, I'm currently ranked #31 in Norway (top 35 qualifies), so I think I will qualify on rating. I'm not 100% sure, though. If I feel threatened I'll take a day I'm not working and win a random tournament to ensure it
If I were to play regionals though, I would play Reveillark. It's blue, it's got a lot of stuff going on, and it's very good. Faeries are on the decline, which should mean a lot of good matchups for Lark to feast on (though, with Lark on the rise, Faeries should come back, having such a good matchup against Lark, which means Lark as a choice will be worse, the number will sink, which will again make Faeries worse, and so on...), and I have played quite a lot of Reveillark on MtGO.
I'm DEFINITELY going to grind to try and get into nats. Luckily I found a bunch of players from ottawa looking for a VERY competitive level playtesting group, so we formed our little alliance and are going to meet up every tuesday to playtest.
I'm going to refine whatever I choose to play and try and squeek in there... Although I am considering grinding via. sealed deck, as that *is* one of my very strong points.
I don't have any hard numbers on this, but I'm targeted more often than a black guy driving a beat-up sedan with a broken tail-light and no license plate, and Cy's well aware of that.
I'll volunteer to be the clan rep. It wasn't so much him participating in the thread (heck, I participated more than anyone else in there)... he literally was one of the few who caused the actual PROBLEM that brought the site down.
As said, I'll volunteer for clan rep. That being said, I'll need a bit of a briefing in all the stuff I'll be supposed to do... But I'm pretty sure it entails posting stuff for clan contests etc. correct?
I don't have any hard numbers on this, but I'm targeted more often than a black guy driving a beat-up sedan with a broken tail-light and no license plate, and Cy's well aware of that.
Even though I knew jimbyob is a spambot when it comes to the Testing Grounds, I didn't expect this from him. Nasty. Filth as well (Dunno if you know the guy but I do. Don't know the third one; Netran or something, never heard of.)
Sucks. He's perma-banned isn't he?
As discussed in another thread in Speak Your Mind, banned means banned forever.
Well, that was quite... what shall I say..? I don't know, really.
OVER NINE THOUSAND
Sorry, I had to. Yes, they are all permanently banned as far as I know. Hannes sounded quite angry, and I would be as well, and I understand his decision. It's quite clear Jimbyob and the other too had no idea what they were doing, and I don't think it was intended at all, but... yeah. You got to think twice.
I'll have my final exam tomorrow. I bet you won't be able to guess what it is, so I'll just say it: football. Yes, the exam tomorrow is to "show off" my football/soccer skills, as well as talking a little about nutrition. Doesn't sound too bad? I don't think it is, but I still am a little nervous.

I'm not sure what you mean by PT... but I am not training to become a professional football player (by the way, I obviously mean soccer (God forbid :p). After all, I am European), I just love to play and because of that I chose a football high school. I'm not too bad, but I'm not dedicated enough to take it to a higher level.
I had the exam earlier today. It went okay, I guess. The most important is that I'm done now, and with that, I'm done at school. At least for a good while... it's time to begin on a new life!
By the way, do anyone in here play Magic Online? I haven't heard much talk about it... Not that I've been able to play anything the last week or so either, as my computer has crashed. But it's not the end of the world, it's Euro 2008 (European football championship) now, so I wouldn't be able to play anyway

Is norway in Euro? i havent seen them. anyway, im rooting for Spain. i think they have all the pieces to make it work.
also, i meant Physical trainer. a professional football player ounds cool, what position do you play? i was taking a shine to stopper then my tib-fib fracture during a game dashed that hope:p
right now im about to head into a legacy tournament, and i was wondering what you guys think:

Wow. Im in awe. I honestly cant believe jimbyob is banned.
It's probably for the best... I guess it's an honor to be the Clan Rep... Even though I have a feeling I'm going to get a serious crash course in what that entails... It's all good though.
I spent about 12 hours playing Magic yesterday... It was sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet...
The irony is, when I play Magic I'm usually not here for a while... And when I'm here I'm not playing Magic... I play/talk about Magic so much it's almost worrysome

Glad you had fun :).
I have been busy with one of my new deck creations myself :sneaky:....
So whereabouts do I go exactly to notify whoever that the clan rep has changed? Since well... Anyone who sees jimbyob's name right now probably now knows who he is :xd: and the people involved with clan maintenance etc. should know that a banned clan rep isn't exactly a reliable one...

Heh, this is the only time of the year it isn't like that for me Now it's all about football. But with GP Madrid, GP Copehagen and Nationals coming up, I'm sure Magic will be back in full force very soon

3 Rishadan Port
11 Plains
4 Karakas
3 Flagstones of Trokair
2 Jotun Grunt
3 Silver Knight
3 True Believer
3 Samurai of the Pale Curtain
3 Serra Avenger
2 Isamaru, Hound of Konda
3 Stonecloaker
3 Mangara of Corondor
3 Umezawa's Jitte
4 AEther Vial
3 Cataclysm
4 Swords to Plowshares
4 Glowrider
1 Darksteel Colossus
4 Thorn of Amethyst
1 Oblivion Ring
1 True Believer
3 Tivadar of Thorn
1 Samurai of the Pale Curtain
its a run of the mill Death and taxes deck, but i decided i liked the addition of silver knight as it basically says gg vs most red decks.
my biggest problem is the lack of orims chants avaliable, so im running glowrider. does anyone see a problem with that?

Wow. Im in awe. I honestly cant believe jimbyob is banned.
Do I flash it back too?:p
I know. And their wont be anymore threads like that :(, O well its for the best.
Anyone feel like smashing my face in on MWS?
Heh, this is the only time of the year it isn't like that for me Now it's all about football. But with GP Madrid, GP Copehagen and Nationals coming up, I'm sure Magic will be back in full force very soon

So I'll definitely have to join the "please reprint Tarmogoyf" camp every time a new set comes out.
