The Brazilian Alliance sounds good to me, why don't you put it for the next thread title :D. So today I finally got to see the FS spoiler, I am shocked at all the things that have happened, I wish I'd play again... Well this is my once in a while visit yeah cheers
So I finally got my grades today. 3x B and 1x A!:D:D:D Go me! And my parents said that if I get a B average for 2 semesters they'll get me a laptop!:D I'm excited! Anyone have any suggestions on what laptop would be a good one to buy?
Oh, and I just looked at the new Clan Contest. Apparently we need to think of a card to build a deck around and submit the deck. So, anybody got any ideas? I'm not to fond of taking one of the cards that already have a deck built around it (I'm looking at you Bridge from Below!:p), but I'd like to think of a card that might be fun to build a deck around.
Well, that's all I got to say right now. I'm planning on taking a trip to New York City this coming Tuesday, so I won't be around for most of next week.

@Angel - Hey there, bro! Always nice to see you around, and even nicer to talk to you on MSN.
@Vax - Congrats, man! I'm not exactly familiar with laptops, since I never owned one, but I figure you should just do whatever you do when you're buying a new pc - look for a good processor, mainboard, sound/video cards, etc.

Sounds awesome! NYC is one of the places I won't die without having visited.
On another note... Honza and Lenka, sitting in a tree, you know the jist. I hope things work out in a way that the both of you can be happy about it.
;). I hope so as well. Btw, for those curious, here's the girl in question ;).
I have spent a weekend with the family...I'm not gonna see them now for a month or so...work, uni and travelling abroad for conferences. And then probably only for a few days and another month of travelling. Not that I am complaining, it is good to see them from time to time, but I like my quiet and independence more. Also, being at home at the big computed allowed me to play a bit of BG2 again, this time with a half-bad party, romancing Viconia ;).
Speaking of computer games....THIS made me really happy. Not that I will buy and play the game, but I have very fond memories of the ol' grandpa Starcraft, and the new pics and videos look incredibly nice.
@Vax: Congrats, man! Say hello to the Big Apple ;-)
Well, I have to have a lunch and then catch the train. Take care, amigos!
Just stopping by to say I'm stalking the thread like always.
Actually I'm really hear to say hot DAYUM. Caranthir you need to be careful with pictures of your girlfriend. I took one look and got so horny my laptop isn't exactly sitting on my lap any more...
I was told today that this kid on my team called 911 twice this morning and hung up both times. They called back and his dad answered. The reason the kid called 911? He got an erection and didn't know what to do. I wish I was making this up.
Rofl, HKKID has to be the biggest pervert on the boards! (Note that I'm saying this as a compliment... I love me some Scarlet pics.)
So, how did you guys spend the weekend? Mine was pretty cool, but too short (as usual :p). I spent a lot of time with Livia, went to the best rock party in town on Saturday, and watched football and played Magic Online all through Sunday.
Topic of discussion: after reading Maro's articles about Melvin/Vorthos, how would you describe yourselves? I'm most definitely a Spike/Melvin with a strong Vorthos side. My main goal in playing Magic is winning tourneys, and I love to explore the intricacies of Magic design (that's why designing sets is one of my main pasttimes). Plus, I'm a sucker for flavor and storyline.

Well, I spent my weekend
1) Shopping (blah)- I realized that all my jeans have already holes right at the bad places, and shed tears above approx. 100 EUR, that I had to pay for buying two new ones. And I had to buy a new cellphone as well, for the old one was faulty already. That's the Murphy's law way - when you got extra money from your boss once upon a time... you have to spend all of them on replacing things that broke
2) Writing a report from the espionage visit in the Dresden Research Centre. The bosses at the Oncology Institute will have an interesting read...
3) Writing another article to get another packet of XP necessary for my quest to level up to Ph.D.
@HKKID
She would take this as a compliment, I think. But I'm not gonna show her the comment.
I am probablytotally a Vorthos Spike, with a bit of Johnny added. I love storyline and flavor above all, and occassionaly I am fond of thinking up insane combos to watch my opponents' jaws dropping in disbelief :evillol:.
Well, I have some errands in the city, so I gotta run now. But I'll be back, amigos
In the meantime, have a great time, all (including the hibernating sons of the GA - Kon, Kreon, Giorgos, Pouk, Neko and especially James;))
I've alwaysbeen intrigued by Guitar Hero. Never played, but really want to give it a try. Question: do your musical skills in real life count when you're playing?
And speaking of spending money, I invested 80 dollars worth of tix in Magic Online this weekend. Built myself a complete MGA for about $40 (the most expensive card is Call of the Herd, which goes for about $5.50), and started spending the rest on 8-man Standard tourneys. Overall, it's all good - out of three tourneys, I lost one in the first round due to losing my connection (grrr), and made the finals in the other two, finishing 1st and 2nd and earning six booster packs (which go for about $3-4 each). Then I played a TS-TS-PC draft, made a solid U/W deck, but managed to lose 2-1 in the first round.
Now I'm looking into earning a few more packs, selling them, and then putting together another deck - the monoblack discard thingie that only uses Urborg and Confidant as rares. It just about rapes Dragonstorm and has a very strong game against control.
@Honza - Your weekend makes you sound like a much more responsible person han me! Thankfully, I'm fine with being a lazy bastard on weekends (at least until Starla gets back on business again... then I'll have very tiresome - but hopefully rewarding - ones).
EDIT: Craig, so your bro is a footballer? Is he younger than you? Is he good enough that you may be able to quit work and live off his allowance in the future? I know I'd want such a brother.
Well, after a much needed break from interwebville I return... a happy, happy and grateful man to be among such esteemed company once again.
I look forward to reading through the large portion of thread that I've missed in my absence, and I really do hope that all is going well with everyone, and in everyway.
I'm going to go and check the 'mill for more 10th goodies, shant be long now before we get another rumor season ball rolling again. I can't wait!
Back in about 3 hours or so my amigos, take care til then!
Dang! We missed you, man! How's life going for you?
This is gonna be a busy week for me. I have a driving test on thursday afternoon, so I gotta hurry things at work so that I can afford to skip it. Also, tonight we'll have the regional version of the biggest advertising awards in the country, called Prêmio Abril. Some of my ads from the other agency are running for it, and from the looks of it, there's a good chance I'll win the third prize in my carrer (my first Abril prize, nonetheless). So wish me luck! Plus, I'll get to meet lots of people I haven't seen in a while, and eat/drink for free, so all should be good.

Ah well, not long to go, and only one unpleasant job left to do (that I know of), and then that delightful 6am start tomorrow
Think of it like this: waking up at 6AM is a piece of cake compared to waking up at 7:30 with a hangover and having gotten only a couple of hours' worth of sleep. Yeah, I'm a pessimist like that - I think of the consequences even before all the drinking begun.
Hey guys, just dropping by to say hi. This is going to be a busy week for me, as I've been failing miserably in my tests and I really have to catch up with a lot of stuff
On the other hand, gaming's been awesome and I've been sorting things out with Camila. I saw her 2x and we might get back together. I guess it just makes sense, you know. I miss that little lady too much

I might as well start by stealing this bit of text.
Oi, sorry people. I'll admit, I was kinda reading for a while, but the main news in my life mainly pertains to one particular girl, and given the spirits of people in this thread at the time, I wasn't sure saying anything would be too good. Nevertheless, I'm glad to see that everyone is doing alright, and that's great news about your marks 'Vax. Shady, I've lost faith in you. Things were better when girls were the enemy? Nonsense.
St@r: I hope things work out for the best, I was jerked about by a girl called Cammie too. May you find a more happy ending than I did. (Wow, when I tried to write ending there, I wrote enemy; shows how bad things were.)
Also, although I've made it clear that I know about it, HYDROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! (I almost did it in ivisitext, then remembered the new rule about it. [wow, I think that rule would earn us all a banning for the subliminal messages thread])
Hey all:D
Damn ... things were wayyy easier... when... girls sucked...
Tell me about it bro!
lol!
So glad to see you all again, life's been really good, I got a much deserved break from everything, and now I return to you all more powerful and happier than ever.
I'm off to see Piurates 3 in like 6 hours for the premiere here in Auckland. Should be good, make that great if we get to see the new Transformers trailer too!
I'll add more after I watch it, talk to you all again in a few hours....
Whoa, lots of people back from the dead at the same time! Fells like the good old days when I almost couldn't keep up with the posting pace of the GA. That's what having Pouky and Ix posting in the thread on a daily basis does to you.
@Yammo - If you feel like it, or just want some advice, or anything, by all means fill us in, bro. I know we've had Honza, Rafa and Vax with girl problems in the thread already, but as a local saying goes, "where three fit, four fit".
@Shady - Since you didn't mention anything about it, I take it that you won't be hitting the Olympic Stadium later today? I'm all pissed because I'll be working and unable to watch the game. Oh well, I guess there's always fifa.com's live coverage.
@Everyone - On a slighty sad note, we didn't win any prizes last night. However, prosecco, caipirinhas, truffles and snacks more than made up for it.
In the meantime, have a great time, all (including the hibernating sons of the GA - Kon, Kreon, Giorgos, Pouk, Neko and especially James;))
Seems that my words had a magic call
I had a great card evening yesterday - we played FS Sealed deck, and from my 5 boosters, I built really good aggressive RW deck, with Blades (Arc, and of the Sixth Pride), Giants (Boldwyr Intimidator, two Nomads and Pact of the Titan), Rift Elementals and three Knight of Sursi, removal and Pacifism. And Akroma's Memorial, that I played and that actually won me three games :D:D:D Though I lost one match for being stuck on two lands in first game and stricken by bad luck in the second, still I won 4 to lose 1 (including winning a game where I kept a hand after mulligan that has one plain in it, but two Sursi Knights, Blade of the Sixth Pride, Flowstone Embrace and Bogardan Lancer) Pulled the necessary second land in third round
Well, back to writing article See ya soon, bros!

Hey guys! Like I said earlier, my grades this past semester were good enough to earn me a laptop computer, so I'm posting this thing from the great city of New York City! This town is really really different, I'll tell you that. All the stuff is bigger. Pizza, buildings, even the rush hour is larger. We also got to go see Spamalot on Broadway just now, and I gotta say that it's almost as funny as the movie. Almost. I also got to weasel my way to a seat on the bottom floo:p We originally got seats in the back of the highest part of the theatre. I have had some troubles with heights, so I said that I was getting dizzy (I was, but it was nothing I couldn't handle) and the theatre staff let me stand near the back of the first floor. I then went from there to an empty seat during intermission.:p I know, I'm a cheat. So what?
Well, I gotta go. I just wanna say a quick YAY for Hydro and Shady being back! Finally!

Shady: Well, it was the ten years old part that threw me. I'd be disturbed if they did. 0_0 Also, are you saying they don't suck anymore? Poor you. :p:D
Rick: What I meant is that things are going absolutely smashing, and I would have felt bad coming in and saying that when things were going bad for others. And that's an excellent phrase(/expression?)
Either Force or Norin sounds good to me. Must say I'd rather have Norin though... his card has an incredibly funny flavor behind it.
So, Milan won, huh? Congrats, Shady! On one hand, I should have been cheering for them, because of my Italian roots... on the other, all my life I absolutely despised black-red teams, to the point that I'm mentally unable to actually cheer for one.
If you're adamant about Shady's ideas, I'll vote for Norin. He's hardly able to serve as a deck basis, which would not exactly be fair to the clan which gets him, IMO.
He isn't? Just throw him alongside Pandemonium and you've got a deck starting right there.
Quote from Vik »
Otherwise, Brazilian Alliance is off limits. (Sorry, Rick, but it's to long to have the proper sound )
Well, it could be worse... French Polinesian Alliance, anyone?
holy mother of pearl! STARCRAFFFFT TOOOOOOOO!!!! Awesome!
Norin combines very well with Soultether Golem ...fast red beats eh? A friend of mine plays a pandemonium deck with Norin, and SoulTether was a natural inclusion. Choice!
Last day of the working week for me lads, I hope you're all going to have an excellent weekend planned.
Kiwi Alliance!!! That get's my vote...!
Talk to you all in a couple of hours yo, work calls.
Great to see you all here, bros I must write such lines more frequently.
@Vik: I'll cross my fingers for you, bro.
BTW, I dusted off my old knowledge of organic chemistry recently here Refreshing, I must say.
@Giorgos: Starcraft? Man, I have played that game for hours, and as with all things, I was a storyline zealot as usual. Unlike Vik, however, my heart was closest to Protoss. But I enjoyed all the campaigns (I had to cheat in the first mission of BroodWar Zerg campaign...I was never able to protect the last hive. I liked all the characters...of course Raynor was my fav one, closely followed by Zeratul and Tassadar. But the bad ones were also pretty nice - Zerg Kerrigan, Samir Duran, Arcturus Mengsk, Edmund Duke, or admiral DuGalle (stupid soldier, btw.). Artanis was lame. And I remember the first time than I unknowingly unlocked "Dark Origin" mission :D.
I am really interested in your take on the storyline.
I am for Norin as the submission, though Vik's mention of Zur the Enchanter reminded me of one old discussion between Ix and Herder
It's over midnight, and I spent this evening by going for a "short walk" with Lenka at seven and returning half an hour ago. I have to go to bed, but tomorrow I am back, lads! Have a great time!

Hmmm, any particular reason for the quotes around "short walk"?
I think we should rule Force of Savagery out (Sephiroth_Owa's new clan, Shatter, is probably submitting it anyway). I think we should definitely submit a legend. And if you want to be really evil, General Jarkeld is your man.
Damn you Rick! A digital camera is pretty much the only piece of recent technology that I don't have, so I had to run out and get one of those disposable camera things, so I could give you just what you asked for. Most of the pictures that I took with that thing came from the Statue of Lady Liberty and from Ellis Island. A lot of pics from them two places. Of course, there's some pictures from Times Square also.

Ahem, are you the one who likes ranting?
ROFL! Admit it, if the opportunity presented itself, you'd do the same thing Vik.:p
Also, yes, I'm the one who likes ranting. It's become the version of comedy that I've been working on.
Speaking of which, I just got back from the Laugh Factory. It's better known as the place where Michael Richards, AKA Kramer, lost it and went on a racist rant. The bad kind of ranting. Nobody famous came by:-/ but the guys that did perform were pretty funny. When I upload the pics you'll see the shirt that I was wearing, and some of the comics made some jokes about it. But most of the jokes were about all the sea men in the club. You know, with it being fleet week and all.
Well, talk to you all later!

Well....

Rick: What I meant is that things are going absolutely smashing, and I would have felt bad coming in and saying that when things were going bad for others. And that's an excellent phrase(/expression?)
So, Milan won, huh? Congrats, Shady! On one hand, I should have been cheering for them, because of my Italian roots... on the other, all my life I absolutely despised black-red teams, to the point that I'm mentally unable to actually cheer for one.
@Vax - Enjoy your trip, man, and bring us photos!
