Well....I spaced it on how to spell "wheel" in an adult class today. I stared at the word in confusion wondering if it looked right. Lucky for me I had the book, "the wheels on the bus" sitting behind me. Yeah....sometimes I hate my brain.
This happens to me alot, and with words that I flatly know are spelled correctly. I look at them after I've written/typed them, and they just seem...wrong somehow. It's hard to explain, and obnoxious.
Yeah, same here, and it's kind of interesting. I wonder if it's some altered brain process causing it to look wrong. Reminds me of stroke victims, who write or say something that they think makes sense, but it's garbage. Like "I'm a driver horn for that then when she was all the way back to box." And they look at you like you're stupid for not understanding. It's probably related to that, just obviously not as severe. Maybe a temporary reduction in bloodflow to that part of the frontal cortex or something.

Good ol' TOOL tickets. I camped out to get mine. I didn't get floor seats though. *cries for a moment* I've never been to an actual TOOL concert though, other than Ozzfest '98 or '99, so I'll probably need to wear a condom and a diaper... if you know what I mean.
Well, I haven't had a cigarette since Tuesday night! *tap dances as the tears dry* I've been weening myself off them by smoking pipe tobacco. It seems to be working quite well.
There's a band playing downstairs that sounds like the White Stripes. For once I don't mind all the noise. I guess they've been on Conan O'Brian. One of the bouncers came up here and said they'd be staying in the apartment across the hall (that's pretty much what its there for. 2 Live Crew will be staying there as well in less than a month). He also said they might come over to shoot some pool, if that was okay with me. I asked, "will there be booze?" He said most likely. So, in about an hour or so, I might have some groovy company.
Anyway, I created this character I'm rather fond of. In just the first chapter (only 738 words) I feel as though I've known him for years. I figure I'll spoiler it here for a bit of feedback. Positive or negative...
I’m walking to Quik-Mart for a pack of cigarettes. Its one of those days you feel ashamed for sitting inside. As I walk, a breeze brushes through my hair and I watch the sky. I make shapes out of the clouds. Its warm out, but not so warm that you need air conditioning indoors. Days like these are the best of all.
I wish I could spend all day outside, but I’m not much of an outdoor person. I’m actually quite afraid of it. With all the words shrinks have for phobias, I’ve never been able to pinpoint this one. Since I was a child, whenever I go outside I’m compelled to keep my eyes in the sky. I create stories for the shapes I see in the clouds. I guess one could say they’re the only friends I have. Perhaps its an obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Growing up, I never made any friends. My parents home schooled me. My uncle was a doctor. Whenever I got sick, he made house calls. With all the measures that were taken to ensure I spent as little time as possible outside, no one thought there was anything wrong with me. My family wasn’t the brightest, you see. Don’t get me wrong they loved me with everything they had. Perhaps that love is what blinded them to my condition.
There are a million things that can get out of control quickly when you’re outside. A drunk driver could careen off the road and hit you. You could be mugged, raped, or kidnapped. Even thinking about it now makes me dizzy. I keep reminding myself I don’t have far to walk. Less than four blocks. I begin counting my steps. A car rushes past me and someone throws an empty soda bottle in my direction. It falls a few feet in from me, bounces, and rolls along the sidewalk. The breeze sends it tumbling in front of me. Taunting my decision to make this journey. Only trash to them, a panic attack to me. My heart races and I walk faster. My eyes return to the clouds, but I can hear the bottle rolling around. It travels off the sidewalk and the sound it makes hitting the pavement is like a thunderclap. I jump. I wish the clerks at Quik-Mart made house calls. The craving for a cigarette becomes stronger. Temporary Heaven, guide me safely into your open arms. I feel as if the store is a magnet.
Three years ago, my parents died and I inherited the house. I’m twenty-five now. I haven’t been farther than the Quik-Mart down the street in ten years. Only once before that, when I was seven. I’m grateful to live across the street from a library. The only place I can go outside and feel safe is in my own backyard. I don’t go out very often. When I do, I lay in the grass and look at the clouds.
I like to draw. My parents said I had a natural talent for it. I think its a part of my overactive imagination. I also like to write. Once, I wrote a short story and submitted it to a small literary magazine. It was rejected. That was the first and only time I’ve had to face rejection. After that, I stayed in bed for a week and used a chamber pot. I decided that as long as my folks and uncle liked what I did, then they would be my only audience. Now, its just my uncle. Even he’s too old to visit. I call him from time to time and read to him. He misses the drawings that go with my stories. He’s retired now, so I try not to get sick. I’ve been lucky so far.
I’m fortunate enough to work at home stuffing envelopes. I make more money than I know what to do with. That’s probably why I smoke so much. I’ve never had a drink. Maybe I should start. My uncle won’t live forever and I’ll need some company. I know there’s a bright vibrant world out there. Somewhere my destiny awaits. I’m just too damn afraid to go out and find it. Maybe I’m secretly hoping that it finds me instead.
In the sky, a courtroom drama plays out in the clouds. The sun is the judge. Two more blocks to walk, I tell myself.
Brainfarts are compounded by asking japanese level one students if the word is spelled correctly.....as a test of course.
So I decided to try my hand at making gyoza's today. I bought everything a few days ago just didn't have the time or will to make it. At 4:30pm I diced to tiny bits cabbage and garlic and tossed it into a bowl. I also tossed in ground beef, two eggs, an alinquate of soysauce. I mixed it up then started putting them in their wraps. When I finished that I heated up oil and test cooked one...good stuff....so I fried up the rest. That worked and I was ready to eat that and the salad I made at around 6:00pm. When all the food was done and I was well satiated it was 7:00pm. Yeah....dinner was a 2 and a half hour affair. No wonder I usualy opt for ramen noodles. :-p
I intend to get my profile stuff up to date soon. Heres a picture in the mean time.

you could....but I also used onions...guess I forgot to mention that. I don't think thats absolutely nessisary. The cabbage probably isn't nessisary. Just the meat. Or in BD's case he can just fry up the wrap....tastes great on salad.
My current main staple is macaroni and cheese. I probably mentioned that before. My ramen is okay, just the cheap stuff with frozen vegetables, mushrooms, meat, and an egg. But the best ramen is at real ramen stores. There is this place in Nagoya that is literaly to die for. $8 bucks and well worth it. I mean it is literaly a real meal.

ugh...My mom just IMed me. They found another lump on her breast. (She is recovering from breast cancer). She's had it twice so far. Her Aunt had it 3 times, and the final time was fatal. So, needless to say, she is freaking out. My step-dad won't be home until next week, so I have to go to their house to try to calm her down/take care of her. If it turns out to be nothing, I will continue to play. However, if it turns out to be bad...I'm going to have to take care of my mom. She has an emergancy appointment set up tomorrow morning. I will know more after that. I am very sorry about all of this. I REALLY have to go now.

Wow, SP, I hope your mom is alright. Just keep thinking happy thoughts. And if you believe in some kind of Supreme Being, petition with plenty of prayers. Good luck, my friend. So, the forums are getting shut down for several hours today... *cries* Talk to you guys on AIM, I guess.
It's BC Day here, which just means everyone in the province gets the day off. Except anyone who matters.
It's another (what's that, 70 in a row now?) hot and sunny day. Basically I'm going to be in my office working, or taking care of the kids, or at gym. Okay, at some points I'll also be in my car, I guess.
I think my AC is broken. The unit's on, but cold air's not really coming out of the vents. Not good!
Jonny, I have one Watery Grave, and it is totally up for trade, I don't believe in Shocklands, only Duals. There isn't much I'm interested in right now, but perhaps we could work something out.
Okay, so I've spent the past while busy with sleepovers and trips, yay! Yesterday went to Caverns Lafleche and Aerial Park. Lots of rope swinging and climbing. Oh god the rope burns on my hands hurt so bad. It was well worth it though. So much fun to glide over swamp and stuff. I was exhausted from only 4 hours sleep before going and got little sleep last night to because after that trip I went home, showered and went off to Candace's for a sleepover. 5 of us in a 4 person tent, kinda squishy. Sucked that Dan was at his trailer for the weekend though and couldn't come. We had A LOT of fun anyways though. Go alcohol and glow in the dark nail polish (which burns on face, though looks cool/creepy). Went out to brunch the next day before going to the adult fun superstore (candace's idea, lol) and bubblicity. Anyways I'm on Dan's computer now, while he studies, and am losing my patience with the keyboard so ttyl.
Jonny, I have one Watery Grave, and it is totally up for trade, I don't believe in Shocklands, only Duals. There isn't much I'm interested in right now, but perhaps we could work something out.
The man speaks the truth. He's been on the receiving end of several of my dual lands, and I've scooped up several of his Rav-duals.
After my workout I actually got to go up to Mundy and play a few rounds of frisbee golf. Sweeeeet! Curtis bought a new disc and loaned it to me, it's called an Innova - Beast. Actually I got some huge drives with it - 100m, 120m, or so. That's a long ways for a little plastic disc, especially when you need to be accurate, not just throw it as hard as you can. Most of the holes are 60-100 feet, so yeah I overshot a couple. But I didn't land in any marshy area so that's good. It was savagely sunny, although not too hot. I got some more sun on the ol' bod. I think I'll be trading Curt's Beast off him. He doesn't like it much, but it really suited my right handed, left banking throw style.
After that, we tossed around a regular frisbee for some Ultimate practice. He plays, I don't. But I know the throws and catches. Nathan joined us for about an hour. At that point, I'd had enough sun, so it was slurpee time and then home.
I really feel for ya there chris. It always sucks for family to get sick and all that. Hope everything works out.
BD, how did you do that with all them stats and whatknot.
So I went over my finances with my Pa and he convinced me to let him pay for the car while I'm away. Something about the family putting 17000 miles on it and my dad using it every day due to greater gass efficiency. I also found out that I ow a bit less than I previously thought...thats good, but I also found out that the intrest had gone up fer some reason. My credit card was at 7% last I checked, now its at 14%. My student loan was at 3% and now its at 7%. My car loan is the cheapest and hadn't changed from its 4%. Oh well...a mix of good and bad news, I just threw 100000 yen into it...which might have been worth $1000 a few months ago...probably closer to $900. And here I was complaining about the weak USD only seven months ago.
It is a mile marker though, This month is the first month since January that I have been able to pay my own bills. The entire month is paid off, that is sooo cool. A moral booster if there ever was one. Guestimations have me completely paid off by the end of 2007 and with the prospects of half a year pure trek fund accumulation I may be off to Beijing before the start of the next winter olympics. Exciting prospects but I must play my cards month by month. Thinking like this is like eyeing a Protour victory when you haven't won a qualifyer yet.

Your credit card was probably at an introductory (perhaps 6 months) rate, and now it's at the regular rate of 14%, which is normal for most credit cards. Your student loan is based off the prime lending rate. When you graduated, it was low - about 4%. It has gone up a couple % in the last 2-3 years. Car loans are almost always based on a fixed interest rate, set at time of purchase. 4% was normal a couple years ago. Nowadays you might get 5 or 6% for a car loan unless you find "1.9% financing" type sales or something.
Yikes. I'm listening to a kid's show in the background, as the boys watch after breakfast. This episode is called "See what you can Spread". The woman just said "Great, boys and girls. Now, spread your legs. Good! Now, spread your cheeks. Gooooood!"
* rancored_elf coughs and looks around nervously *
That kid's show seems a lil....wrong somehow. I am sure that they didn't stop to think of how it would sound, though.
Anyways, obliugatory update. The doctors think the lump is nothing. They extracted some fluid or something from it, and are going to run some more tests on it. So far, so good.
Am I, like, the only person who is greatly anticipating the start of the NFL season? Only 30 days left.:D

Talk to you guys on AIM, I guess.
Not good!

Gooooood!"

Anyways, obliugatory update. The doctors think the lump is nothing. They extracted some fluid or something from it, and are going to run some more tests on it. So far, so good.
Am I, like, the only person who is greatly anticipating the start of the NFL season? Only 30 days left.:D
