You have no idea how angry that result makes me. I am a big Germany fan when it comes to the international level of play and to continually see them as the bridesmaids and never the bride is quite frustrating.
And a moment of silence for France crashing out of Euro 2012 by way of being terrible.
Again.
*edit* So, apparently, there's been a bunch of new posts in the Council thread and I have completely missed them. Anyway: do we or do we not run the Card Creation contest and the Mafia contest at the same time? (there's frankly no reason not to)
I would love to have the Clan Mafia Contest Run every Year.
Like Would Love it. Would Marry it and have Babies and still love them if they were Ginger.
I am a man of many words! So many that I'm about to hit 10,000 posts! What should I do?
I'm thinking of doing one of the following when I hit 9,999 posts:
* Stop posting forever
* Stop posting forever but actually still post but under a different hidden username
* Make a new account like Seppel2, Seppelle, SeppeI, Seppe|, etc. and get that up to 9,999 posts also
* Stop posting at 99,999 posts
* Just keep posting

I've bolded my choice. If you don't do that, you'll never catch up to me, slow poke!
(Wow, looking at my own, it's slim to none that you ever will, anyway!)
In other news, today is a very special day for me. It is the day when the sweetest, most loving, most caring man in my life turns 30, and I seriously couldn't imagine my life without him. I love you so much, baby.
I would love to have the Clan Mafia Contest Run every Year.
Also, everyone should see Prometheus. It was amazing. My friend and I saw it in IMAX 3D and had the entire theater to ourselves - we screamed with joy at so many parts because of how awesome it was.
In the Mafia subforum, you mean? Yeah, too many replacements needed, IMO. We may have to cut down the number of running games even further. Ridiculous.
TCM, do you ever play Dota with DRey? If not, there's a recommendation, I suppose.

All of the above!
And I know I already told you, but happy belated, red!

So, I still consider myself new to mafia. But I thought I'd come in and say hi and tell you about my history with the site.
I started an account a long time ago to comment on rumors. Years later, I got into Legacy and that became my new "home.". Moderator applications came six months after I joined, and I was persuaded by friends to apply. I tried to make Legacy more of a community by hosting tournament report threads. But, that didn't work so well. There was a staff mafia game and I had experience playing in college, so I did that. It was terrible. All I remember about it was being convinced Manders was scum. Lol.
I then joined STMU2 at the behest of a friend. I was terrible in that too. I was relieved of my duties as a moderator so I started looking for a "new home" on the boards. I dabbled in Clans. I didn't play Legacy anymore. I had switched to Classic.
For some reason, I decided to give mafia a second chance. I joined some games. Some I had fun. Some I didn't. Until I played in Cirque du Freak. I don't know what it was about that game, but the heavens parted and it was the first game that got me hooked. I don't think I've yet to play in a game that tops the awesomeness of that game...yet. I play more mafia than I play magic (and that's saying something).
So now, Mafia is my new home on these boards. I'm still learning. I get way too emotional at times, but I think it's good "training" for the real world. The mafia sub forum is actually my home page on my desktop AND iPad.
Everyone has been so welcoming and friendly and I think it's an awesome sub. I hope you've enjoyed having me around as well.
TCM, do you ever play Dota with DRey? If not, there's a recommendation, I suppose.
It would be a fine recommendation, if he stopped fricken randoming. Drey is actually good at a few heroes, but keeps experimenting, doing poorly, and bringing down the team :/. Other than that, sometimes we are already in games.
You guys should get Killing Floor, especially if you like zombie games and hate clowns. The game is on sale, I believe for the carnival.
I am so /in for tabletop gaming. As far as software, I've used openrpg and I'm happy with it. I also found http://www.infrno.net/ which looks promising as everything is self-contained, which would be better for newer players.
I'd say 4-5 players is plenty. Did anyone want to run a short adventure to get our feet wet? I've run several in the past but never online. Last time I DMed I ran an outdated AD&D campaign set in Ravenloft updated for 3.5 rules and my players had a blast.
We'd have to work out scheduling too; weekends and evenings work for me. Probably want to avoid weekend evenings though.
I have the first book of the kingmaker campaign for Pathfinder, which is an awesome sandbox campaign. I'm not sure what people think about starting at lvl 1.
It's host preference. Starting at a higher level has it's benefits; you learn the leveling process, form your character better, and are stronger for the coming challenges. There's something charming about the band of level 1 heroes though that I've always loved.

It's at least a high fantasy setting, so a 20 point buy + traits (some good ones too).
I've also never DMed before and have very little experience, so I'm probably not the best choice.
Well you can't play in a campaign you've read; it would be like seeing the setup in mafia before playing the game. If it's just the campaign setting book, that's okay. But it can't be an adventure that details every map and item within a dungeon.
I have no issues running something, but I do need to know what program everyone is comfortable with as well as what play style the players are interested in. Some players prefer more of a role-playing style, interacting with characters, solving mysteries, snooping around, figuring out puzzles, etc. Other players like hack n slash dungeon crawling, acquiring gear and gold, killing hordes of enemies. It's best to have a couple of each kind of player, but it's something I need to know ahead of time in the design phase so that people aren't just dreadfully bored.
Also, a test session where everyone gets together and familiarizes themselves with the tools as well as discussing character creation is a good idea.
The campaign setting is pretty rigid (though I only read the beginning), and has maps. I only suggest it with me being DM. The issue is I'm doubt I'm ready to DM a campaign.
I like action, but I really like out of combat options to choose an adventure and settle quests - things that have consequences beyond combat tactics and inventory management. I also like the option to not murder everything I find.
What an upset! I would never have predicted Italy to win over Germany!
Now we have an ultra-boring final of both teams playing the ultra-possession game. Yay.

Also, never a fan of contests, aside from the mafia one. I need to get some of you into dota =p.

I want in on this!
I happen to be creating my own Table Top game as a side project. Been working on it for almost 3 years now.

Sounds fun. -Count me in.
This is me. -And any system would be fine. I used to play with a mostly home-brewed system, so I'd have to learn it regardless of what is chosen.
