Hey Giga, you anywhere near Red Deer? I have a (super-sexy) buddy who lives there. Not really your type, though. He's skinny and smooth.
Also, I've had my venting about the vote results. I had a FB friend say how disappointed he was with all the vitriol people are spewing, and I had to retort.

I recently shut someone up. They tried arguing how much religion has advanced society, and I retorted back with the "So the religious suppression of science in Europe during the 5th to 15th centuries was advancing society?" I havent heard since.
Its still sad that we label each other because of who we love. I honestly could say as a straight white Republican (Libertatian is what my friend thinks however....) that we as a country need to worry less about who can marry who and who can love who and we need to focus on returning this country to its former glory and the opprotunity it provided.
I see equal marriage rights and rights in general for gays to be the same as Civil and Women's rights. Its not if it'll happen, but when. It inevitable that over time previously things that were taboo or would ostrachcize you (Women wearing Bikini's is an example) are becoming social norm.
iamBGS - Congratulations! And I hope you guys have the best weather and best day possible!
As for the subject of religion and its role in human suffering in history I have just this to say. I don't think there is a problem with genuine organized religion or other forms of spiritual practice. I think it is too easy to place blame on organized religion in general. Although there are certainly plenty of examples of specific religious organizations with glaring moral/ethical flaws. I think that the problem is propaganda. And propaganda can take almost any form. It can be religious. It can be political. It can be social. I think it is of critical importance to acknowledge that the glorification of one and/or one's in-group by means of putting down "others" comes from human nature. Blithely blaming religion does little beside rephrase the problem. After all, humans weren't living in utopia until aliens introduced religion to us. Everything about religion, good and bad, comes from human nature. And saying that religion is subject to corruption is like saying that government is subject to corruption. It is a non-argument that purports to be an argument. Rather, it is necessary to delve into human nature to sort through this is any useful fashion. Corruption lies in why some people are hurting and hating others. Why they are creating false forms of religions to enact it and why some people are willing to buy into and participate in the propaganda. Placing the blame on irrationality doesn't hold water with me either. Although I love reason and advocate its use with great conviction, I recognize that even irrationality has its proper place in the world. And reason can be put to corrupted use as much as irrationality.
I should spoiler bomb but that would require a massive amount of reading and thought, and it's summer break dammit!
Anyone wanna give me a quick play by play? (i know better than to say pbp and let someone come up with a clever acronym that involves a certain 5 letter word :v)

Gay marriage issues, religion and conservatives, random celebrity fawning, a tiny bit of Magic, guy problems and random posters I don't remember popping in to post once then leave again.
As I wrote some weeks ago I have a new laptop. This is the first time in ten years that I have a computer without a no-name GPU. So I can play now games that never run on my laptops before.
What games of the last 10 years are really worth playing them? I guess I miss a lot. Genres I like are real-time strategy, (non-realistic) first-person shooters and RPGs.
The only games of the last ten years I've played were Starcraft II, Warcraft III, Age of Mythology and Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
Some games I would like to play: C&C Tiberium Wars, Doom III, Half-Life II, Titan Quest, BioShock. Are these advisable? I don't want to waste my time for crap.
C&C, Doom, and Titan Quest are not games I've played and have not heard particularly great things about.
I would say Limbo, Braid, Dear Esther, Skyrim, Dragon Ages, Mass Effect, Bastion, and STALKER, Shadow of Chernobyl.
Those games range the gamut in terms of time, from Limbo being an hour long to DA being like 80. Also, some are puzzle games but are exceptionally good and I'd recommend
Steam is vital if you do not have it.
And NC is not backwards; we approved the marraige amendment with the lowest margin of any state that has approved similar amendments (30 states have). Thank you very much.
RIP Donna Summer. May you always be a shining light in that great disco in the sky. ♥

I missed the last two local FNMs I usually play in. Been busy with life stuff and a little burnt out on Magic. Well I succeeded in trading for the last of the cards I needed to play a decent version of RW Humans. Oh my goodness! That deck is fun and brutal! I have to admit that I severely underestimated the Soulbond mechanic at first glance.
The ceremony was beautiful. We couldn't have asked for a nicer day to have it, either. And everyone had a blast at the reception. We were called into the reception banquet hall à la Price Is Right (so and so, come on down!) and when my new hubby and I walked in, we struck a pose which was the "band" (friend manning my laptop)'s cue to play the other track which was the trombone wah-wahs when someone loses a game on that show.

I really don't feel like watching the Lakers lose...
Edit: don't forget what tomorrow is, you all.
Yeah. Somehow they pulled it through. They play better at home / MWP was back.
I doubt they beat OKC though.
I am sad the mavs lost to the thunder but it was inevitable this year. Oh well, I guess I moved to the right state eh?
Am i reading this thread right? Sports talk? in the Gay clan thread? things really have changed while i was gone...
and to add to the point of the equal rights and marriage point: NC is as backwards as it was 40 years ago: if you haven't seent that picture already....https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=459057330786996&set=a.382764341749629.108480.122256581133741&type=1&theater

Why are all these twinks wearing bowties?
Is it in style now? I'm really confused.
Is this limited to SoCal?
I have no clue what you're talking about. But then again, I don't go to bars/clubs/etc. But I have seen none of that here.
Also, I'm playing Animal Crossing again... nobody may punch me for this
