And speaking of planeswalkers, I decided to finally read that copy of Agents of Artifice I picked up two or three years ago in order to get that extremely rare Jace Beleren Promo which I later traded along with some other cards in order to get a Mox Ruby (I kind of regret getting rid of that card, but I did help me acquire a member of the Power Nine). So far I'm about a third of the way through it and story is shaping up nicely.
I didn't go, but I was told that one of my friends who went decided to trade one booster with another booster from another player (before opening). The booster he gave away had a Sublime ArchangelFoil... (I don't know what he got back in the booster he received though.)
I do like hugs. Just, real ones. Not e-hugs. Unless you're one of 10 very specific people, I rarely give them out.
I'd give you a real one. :3
@P9: I'm getting into vintage because my LGS holds vintage tournaments where the first prize is a piece of nine. (Along with a custom playmat and store credit)
The other place prizes get sweet, sweet store credit. I have my eyes on Tropical Island and they have a playset. :3
I still do not understand the hype behind Sublime Archangel... I'd rather have a Baneslayer. I was able to Essence Drain and Murder the Sublime Archangel I saw yesterday. And it's within bolt range, though bolt is no longer in standard.
Anyway, I went 2-1-1 today. My last opponent and I actually had to play out the last round since I was 2-1 and he was 1-1-1 going into it. He was kind of a new player and played pretty slow in addition to making several misplays, which ultimately cost him the win. Due to his slow play and inability to kill me in the first game, we played a while longer than we should have forcing us to go to time in the third match (biggest misplay being swinging with a Vampire Nighthawk alone to get a +2/+2 exalted bonus when sitting on a 8/8 Crusader of Odric and a 8/8 Chronomaton). Second game, I got out Xathrid Gorgon, Duskdale Wurm and Sentinel Spider then went to town. During the last game, he was winning too when time was called. Again, due to his inability to kill me (or am I just that resilient of a player?), I was able to hold off to a draw (and this time he had a Serra Angel he kept swinging at me to get an exalted bonus instead of swinging at me with his 2 other flying dudes as well.)
More like Omniscience sounds like it'd be amazing in Sneak Show... Show and Tell to put Omniscience into play... Then play everything for free... Also sounds like it might be fun in G/U ramp EDH... Needs a better general than Momir Vig though... You might even be able to get away with mono blue artifact shenanigans... First turn Island, Sol Ring, Grim Monolith. Second turn Island, Gilded Lotus, Tezzeret the Seeker. Third turn Omniscience or in Aurora's case Primal Surge....
Ooh, Grim Monolith... I had forgotten about that card. (My solution does use a Sol Ring, but it only requires four nonland cards (including the Surge).)
Turn 2:
Forest, Overgrowth, Arbor Elf
(With GG leftover - if you have something to play, do so.)
Turn 3:
Forest, tap Sol Ring and all lands, have Arbor Elf untap the enchanted land, reach total of 10 mana, cast Primal Surge, win the game.
Exalted seems fun. When I first saw exalted in Alara block, I didn't like it much since I always thought that a single chump-blocker makes your attack unproductive, but if you have evasion, that's awesome, and even if they block, your creature's probably big enough to destroy theirs, and destroying an army one creature at a time is already good.
EDIT: And tomorrow I get to go to my LGS to crack and sort M13! w00t! I've already sorted all my commons and uncommons for practice... I know... I'm weird...
Holy moly, I had no idea. I better look into finding a sealed or draft tourney soon.
I swung by a beer shop over the weekend, it was towards closing time so I walked a cart left in the middle of the lot up to the shop. When I bring up my order, the cashier gives me a 10% discount for bringing in the cart! Saved 9 bucks, nice surprise.
Recipe time!
Cut zucchini into half coins
Cut about as much hakurei turnip into similar sized pices
Cut 1/3 as much celery into little bits
Cut a bunch of green onion stalks into 5cm strips
Toss this in a pan, add olive oil, salt, pepper, cayenne, and rosemary.
Cook on medium to low flame.
While this is going down cut tomatoes into big chunks, cut the leftover green onion bulbs into little bits, and dice a fair amount of cilantro. Toss it in a pot on low, low heat. Add a pinch of salt, a little pepper, and few shakes of thyme.
Pull the veggie skillet when they get soft but before they brown. Put those over rice, pile on the hot tomato chunks that were cooked too low to boil down into sauce, and top with fresh cheese.
I can also cook simple things... like scrambled eggs, toast, a sandwich, cup of noodle, packaged ramen... Frozen dinners.... umm.... fresh fruit?
And at the LGS today... took me 4.5 hours to crack and sort a little more than a case of of M13 (6 booster boxes)... They got at least 2 of each mythic except for Elderscale Wurm and Thundermaw Hellkite. And for the most part, I think they got a playset of each rare.... Good times? Maybe? We'll see. The manager for the store wanted to open more boxes, while the store owner did not... It was interesting to say the least... Best foil rare this time was a foil Omniscience... And I'm hoping they'll let me buy the Serra AvengerFoil I cracked on the cheap...
I can't even imagine having that many cards (though I would want to). I'm just a low-budget player with a deck that has a bunch of Birds of Paradise. M13 is exciting, but it makes me sad because I'm going to have to ditch my plan of going modern UG control and trade away my entire deck and start something new.
And I need advice: I'm getting away from GW humans. Once SOM and M12 cycle, what deck should I run?

@Syphon: You could always put some spicy sausage or something in there.
I wish I could cook but last time I tried, I almost died. >___>
I can make anything that doesn't involve room for error.
I'm a decent cook. I can make a lot of different stuff so long as I have a recipe in front of me. And some things without the recipe if I've spent enough time making it.

I'm in the same boat as Pat on M13... I didn't realise the prerelease had already happened! The fact that I only played AVR limited once should give you an idea of how much time I have for Magic these days. Still, I should try to get down there this weekend if I can.
The past two weeks have been taken up by my vacation! We went to Edmonton for a wedding (it was pretty good, but nothing special), then to the lake for a few days (where it mostly rained, but we still had fun), then to Calgary to visit my family including my Grandma and Aunt who were in town from Ontario (who were just meeting Oliver for the first time). All in all, a good time, but I've got lots of stuff to catch up on now.
@Pat: That recipe looks yummy!
@Syphon: I hope you passed. I will keep my fingers crossed.
@Stardust: Oh, you are home now? Yay! I can stop waiting anxiously for my Shivan Dragon and start waiting patiently.

So I got 3 packs for the tie and he got 1. In my prize packs today, I got a Gilded Lotus, Sands of Delirium and Touch of the Eternal. My pool had Sphinx of Uthuun, Void Stalker, Xathrid GorgonFoil, Serra Avenger, Omniscience, Hamletback Goliath and Magmaquake
Then the 2 rares I got with my Yeva deck were Jace, Memory Adept and Nefarox, Overlord of Grixis.
So both blue Mythics... out of 22 packs... FML...

Omniscience sounds like something that goes in Blue Deck LosesTM (that is, Kami of the Crescent Moon EDH).
I posted my stance on prize payout schemes earlier today, behind the page break.

Why would you eat vegetables? Where's the meat?!
I eat vegetables because they are delicious. The meat is in other dishes.

Haha, amusement!
I just finished my last test. Now to wait for the result. I am hoping for a pass so that I can claim my 3rd bachelor.
