I got the precon for Yidris, Our Lord of the Great Rainbow Maelstrom and will be building cascade chaos.

A fine challenging Music Quiz as always, though I would have done better taking it on a desktop than on my phone.

1) A commercial for a grocery chain where they say "here's to you" six times (spoken five times and texted once).

2) An elderly rat terrier in a striped sweater.

3) A notepad marked by the toil of puzzle solving.

...And it's almost new thread title time once again. One important question: are we attempting a yearlong theme or are we freeforming it?

It seems I missed an opportunity with my quiz though... I said I was going to do the quiz excluding U to include a few Christmas-themed bands in there, but then someone later told me I could have done the "no L" (like "Noel") quiz instead. I guess that may come around May or June to have a "Christmas in June?" kind of theme or something like that.

Also, a notepad marked by the toil of puzzle solving? I'm kinda curious about that item...

Ah, some of us do things that are previously thought to be impossible all the time. Like all those Celestial Spirals that Lord Grey does, among other things.

Anyways... since the holidays have ended for most people, did any interesting things happen with any of you?

We played some games with family, including a game of Monikers with custom cards. The way the game works (in this case) is as follows:

Pre-game: Each player writes a set number custom items for the game on cards or slips of paper without showing them to anyone else (exact number to be decided - ideally the deck should have 40-60 cards in it, or more or less if you want a longer or shorter game). The cards are then shuffled into one communal pile. Players are divided into two teams. The object of the game is to make your team guess the words on the cards.

The game is played in three rounds, and in each round, the team with fewer points goes first. (Each round keeps going until every card in the deck is guessed correctly. When a card is guessed correctly, the team who got it keeps it until the end of the round. If a player skips a card or doesn't get it, it gets set aside and put back into the deck. When the deck is finished, all cards are reshuffled together and the next round begins.)
Round 1) You can say anything you want. If the card has an optional description written on it, you are allowed to read that too.
Round 2) You can only say one word. (Since the cards are reused, everyone "should" know what the cards are.)
Round 3) You can only use charades.

Aw... I thought we had a broken card on our hands here. But I still have a feeling this card would get banned from tournaments, because rules and stuff...

I suppose it depends on your meta. I've yet to see a person playing Magic at a time at which they could cast this for free. It's mostly the fact that the new game term meant (kind of) the opposite of what I assumed it meant... so it's broken in some places, just not where I assumed it would be.
