More 'spoilers' showed up today on Reddit. Something about cleric tribal that has vindicates on a stick? I dunno, but it seems real.
That one is more real to me than the previous three. Anyway, there is just speculation at the moment, so I will wait for the true spoilers to come at the end of the month.

any games over the weekend? my edh night fell apart, so no reports. I took apart my marchesa experiment from a few posts ago. turned out to basically underperform. my mana fixing is in my mishra deck, it was a clumsy attempt to use vampires i shouldve given to their own deck.
currently putting together a spare cards version of Anowon instead.
Sadly no. Had to work the day of a modern GP Trial. I crashed in at the 4th round and only managed to play against someone who played a Naya Aggro deck, but lost totally due to constant mulligans. Well it is hard to test out your deck that way, although I finnaly found out why Day's Undoing is a terrible card in general unless you play it turn 1.
Well, that's all I could do and all I will do 'till January. GP Mexico City is coming then and I hope to be able to do my Judge exam there. Now on to study!

I played FNM last week with the griselbrand deck. 3-2 performance, there were a lot of ways that it could have been better, but that's what you get with a fragile deck like this. The times when it did work were hilarious, so I'm gonna keep at it.
Haven't been doing much else with magic lately. Most of my spare time has been spent either on Smash or preparing stuff for D&D. Mostly D&D. Meeting up tomorrow, going to be their first true boss encounter. There's a lot of loot waiting for them if they can beat it, but it's going to be tough. I'm pretty excited to see how it goes.
WOTC found a pretty interesting way to add what feels like a completely new twist by use of a very subtle change to the old system. I'm still not entirely sure how I feel about "C" mana.
Happy Holidays (belated) and Happy New Year (pending)
"What's errata?
Wizards will be changing all past cards (via their Oracle system) that previous added colourless mana to instead add C (the diamond symbol). This means that Sol Ring now adds CC to your mana pool, which will be reflected in future printings." bothered me a lot and seems very clunky, I would have preferred this "waste" source to be more like snow than a massive retcon.....
I do love Reflector Mage a lot.
Also Star Wars Episode VII was great.
Loved Rey, she has freckles, we are getting married. FN-2187 holding a lightsabre made me cringe, he deserves death. I was rooting for Kylo to be badass, I loved the phrase "seduced by the light side" and actively seeking the power of the Dark Side but he was too emo and I'm not sure how he was trained because he got his ass kicked.
Random check-in about my life which will be spoilered just in case you don't really care which is perfectly fine
Started Hearthstone again, bought all the expansions, I play Tempo Mage and Secretadin, and limited Face/aggro/overload Shaman. Secretadin is hilariously fun. Second month playing. Hit rank 5 which made me pretty proud. It's a really mindlessly fun game, it's a shame there are no instants. Yes you can burn a ***** ton of money on this if you want.
So February 1st I'm finally getting my instruments to do TO-15 which is toxic volatile organics in air (so GC/MS plus a full Markes system to do the Summa cannisters by trap instead of cryofocusing) which means I'll have the highest/most difficult/most technically hard analysis that the NY State Department of Health concerns Enviornmental labs like mine with, so that's a fun feather for my cap
Women front is still pretty meh but that's fine I suppose
Happy New Year's to all.
Was so in love with Star Wars that I watched it thrice- much to the chagrin of my wife, that never liked SW. I do agree on what you say Luminous, not much more to say. It was a good movie, not the best.
On the spoilers, there was some neat stuff. Liked the planeswalker tutor and I like the idea of the oaths, let' s see how they play out. Some nice planeswalker love. Thoughts on this?

Happy holidays everyone. Sorry for my recent absence. I believe I've mentioned before that the holidays are a rough time for me.
I like the new colorless symbol, but I mostly like that I got to say "I told you so" to the guy in my facebook group who insisted that the symbol would be a new color entirely.
I brought in the new year in the most fitting way I could imagine: I smashed modern FNM pretty easy with Martyr-Proc. Mini report to follow, as is custom.
Round 1: Naya burn 2-0. Very easy games. I once lost to this deck a long time ago by failing to play around atarka's command. I did not make that mistake again, and both games were very easy.
Round 2: Collected Company Merfolk 2-1. Never played against this before, and died to a nutty company while seeing no martyrs. Game 2 I stuck two ghostly prisons and my opponent attacked repeatedly with a 6/5 silvergill adept. Turns out that doesn't race two active serra ascendants. Game 3 I stuck two of them and he never made his fourth land drop, effectively locking him out of the game.
Round 3: Mono Green ramp/elves, 2-0. Turns out trying to jam a bunch of creatures with no interaction doesn't work against martyr. Game 1 I won at 75 life, Game 2 I won at 60 with a foglock.
Round 4: Naya Burn, ID. 2-1 in friendly games. Different player this time, opted to just take the draw rather than risk the 5% chance of losing. We opted to play it out just to see how it would have gone down, and he took the first game when I failed to draw any martyrs, but games 2 and 3 I drew martyrs, played around atarka's command, and won pretty easy. He was super thankful that I offered to draw.
glad to hear that everyone seemed to have a happy holiday this go around. Little brother bought me a Karn Liberated for my Mishra edh deck, im pretty excited to try that out.
I would go for a martyr proc 'core', and then add various things like karlov. Teysa may/may not be guild in that. You could also go boardwipe happy and load up on things such as merciless eviction and the like.
Maybe I'm just boring, but I'd have a cleric tribal theme going. Wouldn't devote to it entirely, but it pairs well with a token theme (allthesoulsisters are clerics) which would make it easy to reach the life requirement and gives you plenty of sac fodder for the second ability.
man, and there are some great black white clerics. ok, i think i will start there. I should have a starter list in a few days (office has been crazy this month...nothing like the first week back from holiday)
Yeah, there are a lot of great clerics, even outside of the life gain theme. You also get to play edgewalker which is an old favorite of mine. Such a cool card.
I may or may not have been brewing something up for this legend ever since she was spoiled.
Today, I woke up, and was deeply saddened because I saw that Twin was banned. Wizards should've banned something like Exarch to make the deck still playable.
Later, I went to prerelease. Went 4-6 in games, and 1-3 in matches.
Round 1 I had this weird Jeskai allies thing going, but it was too inconsistent and I lost round 1. During the time that was left over, I reconstructed the deck to become RG Landfall, because I had a metric ton of support in my BfZ packs. Round 2 was close, but I lost 1-2 to my opponent topdecking a thing that made all of his creatures have vigilance. Round 3 I was paired against a dude running Mardu. I made a huge mistake game 1 by not using an instant to untap one of my guys to block (instead i used it to give my other guy +1/+2 and reach). Game 2 I curved out pretty well, and won by a large margin. Game 3 I stumbled on two forests for five turns while he built up an army of allies and fliers. Round 4 I was paired against someone who was at their first prerelease, won 2-0. I later helped him with his deck and explained where his cards might be useful and some tips on evaluating cards. Not my best prerelease, but not my worse. I did get some nice loot after trading though.
I decided to build mono-black eldrazi for modern, since I can run 8 LD mainboard, and its more consistent than what I was originally building (UB). I also had the sudden urge to build Damia EDH, with a "Your turns are my turns and your stuff is my stuff" theme (In reality its probably just going to be goodstuff). Any tips on Damia, rewind? Actually, with the new rules announcements, I might actually do Sen Triplets with the same thing.
Didn't play any prereleases this go-around, though I did run out and pick up a copy of Ayli. Operation BW control is a go. Right now its looking like black and white allstars with ayli at the helm and some casual life gainy stuffs.
Thanks for the links. I actually have another BUG deck in the form of Sidisi self mill/Reanimator, and it's really fun to play. Phenax with a bunch of zombies is a great way to go on the defensive and offensive, and then you Villainous Wealth for 40 with Kruphix.
Sen Triplets is now in the designing phase. Thinking of making it a silly political deck with lattice, hive mind, and rite of replication. Everyone gets a sen triplets!
Its times like this I wish I had a herald. I been gone for awhile. Finally got a computer again. Its so good to have oodles of information at my fingertips once more. A smartphone just wasn't a good enough replacement for it and my online presence shrunk to a shadow of its former glory. Did all kinds of fancy things happen in my absence?
I've been gone for far too long. Just haven't really had much to say. My time has been filled with D&D, Blade and Soul, Pokemon, and a few other things here and there. Magic too, of course. Trying to convince a friend that the sky isn't falling in modern with all these eldrazi decks all over the place.
Kizumonogatari is airing in limited theaters in the U.S. soon, and I've been trying to decide if I want to go see it. Naturally it's not airing anywhere in my state, because life is never easy. On top of that, I don't have any local friends that are into the Monogatari series to make a road trip out of it. Considering these factors, I probably won't be seeing it any time soon, which is quite a bother because I've been waiting for this movie for years. Going to have to wait for it to show up online.
In magic-related news, I recently re-built Nin, the pain artist EDH after much nagging from some of the local players. No one was investing any time into policing other players, and so games have been growing out of control very quickly. I wasn't thrilled with the prospect at first, but I have to admit, it feels nice to just say no over and over again, stealing things from hopeful timmies and smashing them with their own cards. Favorite moment so far has been using clever impersonator to copy a mana reflection, then using turnabout to generate a ton of mana and casting eternal dominion, twincast and reverberate. First grabs were ulamog, kozilek and urabrask on Turn 6 or so. Concessions soon followed.
Yeah, I am on the no news is good news front. I got not much. I play a bit more mtgo now, still work tons, and dont pay attention to much else. I do have 2 nice DnD 5e groups going. Other then that, I am adulting.

Congratulations, Rewind. Are you expecting a boy or girl?
Also, love the playmat. Do you think you could put something together for me if I sent you the images I'd like to use? I'm not great with photoshop but I've been wanting to order a playmat from them for ages.
Thanks Polski. We are expecting a little girl. Willow.
Sure, i'd be willing to put something together for you - something to know though is that since the playmats are rather large, HD photos are a MUST. If you wanna send me some stuff or talk about it sometime on skype, I am game for that; I have done a few playmats through the ages...
My Nekusar mat, a green one for my little brother, and some JTMS mats (space one i made for a redditor). Also have a black one somewhere, but i cant find the URL. Lots of Gisa and ghouls.

@Damia - http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/the-game/commander-edh/multiplayer-commander-decklists/567504-damia-sage-of-pwn That was my list, I did a decent write up on it. It was a fun deck, but too strong for my meta to play frequently.
@Sen Triplets - http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/13-01-15-leO-sen-triplets/ I never did a proper write up on them, but I basically built a deck on the idea of 'whats yours is mine, stop hitting yourself.' Between Chromatic Lantern, Mycosynth Lattice, and Celestial Dawn, you can play any spell from any hand. Not to mention now-a-days you can play lands from opponents hands and actually use them to cast their spells. Head games sleeper OP
