Welcome everyone to the first office 'Article of the Day'! In order to generate a little more discussion and keep things intereting, Senori and I will be updating this thread every week day with a new article for discussion. These articles will run the gamut, but we're going to try and keep them interesting or funny. The articles may not necessarily be from today, and we may miss some days, but we'll try and keep it updated as much as possible.

Today's article hits a little close to home:

To summarize, with the recent child immigration crisis, one of the buildings the feds were thinking about as a potential shelter was an abandoned army reserve center. It was rejected as being unsuitable, but that didn't stop the center was vandalized by... not the brightest of graffiti artists. It read:

"No Illeagles Here
No Undocumented
Democrats"

So what do you guys think, was this master vandal concerned about the lack of veterinary support for our nation's birds?

Because God forbid we give desperate children food and shelter.

The tenor of the immigration debate in this country is absurd. The reason we have children showing up en masse at our borders is because, a few years ago, we were all willing to agree that children in conflicts like this deserve asylum; now that they're showing up, we've conveniently changed our minds. It's surreal.

Yeah, I don't really understand the attitude, either. It's not like these kids will be taking our job. I just can't understand the mindset of people who would seriously prefer we shoot them before they cross the border. These are just holding facilities until the kids are deported. Very, very few of the kids are going to be staying, and they're not even going to be let out from the federal shelters (which, ironically, are the ones people are protesting).

But I was more interested in the astounding lack of spelling ability this artist-by-night exhibits.

So today's is less funny or interesting, more important. If you haven't heard, a Malaysian flight was shot down in Easter Ukraine, but who exactly shot it down is a mystery. This has the potential of escalating the conflict beyond Ukraine/Russia depending on who was involved.

I think the pro-Russian rebels shot it down by accident. Probably some yokel who didn't receive proper training in identifying targets or didn't care just shot a missile up at something flying over their sky.

Regarding the deporting thing- Many people are just running off anger at Democrats.

Seems to me (uninformed as I am) that this is the type of event that could ultimately end the career of Putin.

So, it's pretty clear that I'm going to harder pressed to find funny or entertaining articles in the news. Today's story is a what the hell!?!

Three teens are charged with the murder of two homeless men in New Mexico, and are potentially implicated in 50 other assaults.

That was extremely disturbing - both the events described in the article, and the comments in the article.

I never read comments on news articles anymore. It raises my blood pressure too much.

The WHO's (World Health Organization) latest report suggests decriminalizing drugs and sex workers as a means of improving public health, as right now a major barrier to the prevention of AIDs and other diseases is the stigma these individuals face when trying to access healthcare.

Goddammit, this doesn't help me. I know that me and a friend of mine played through the SCII campaign in a single night. Did the sleep deprivation of this night we played that campaign in cause me to believe that we did so, or is his memory that we have never done such a thing caused because of that night sleep which we, according to him, did not miss?

I once spent three days playing the original Ape Escape at a friend's house when the original Dual Shock controller came out.
