Coke Zero. I'm trying to quit pop again and when I do drink it Coke Zero is what I drink. No calories or sugar and it tastes so much better than Diet Coke. Its like Coca-Cola has been withholding flavor for all these years to punish us for being fat.
Just joking. I did drink Schnapps; it was Lunar New Year, and you have to wash down tea with something.
Now I am drinking water as well as progressively working my way through these Dilmah Exceptional teas. Some of them I have tried before, but I received a box of 16 flavours recently and didn't know about most of them until, you know, recently.

Really, what difference does it make, though?
Everyone dies, but Coke Zero, being zero-fat, zero-calories, etc. simply sounds implausible as well as too good to be true.
When you actually know a thing or two about Coke Zero (I really don't know for sure what little I know is true), you'll probably reasonably conclude that Coke Zero is in fact worse than regular Coke (unless you're, you know, diabetic or something; even then, that's considering...).
If you really want to quit pop, though this sounds dismissive of how difficult it is, just quit it! I'm sure it isn't insurmountable for you.

The worst thing about Coke Zero is its 70 mg of sodium a serving and the carbonation of the water. The recipe is almost identical to Diet Coke except it doesn't taste like battery acid and so its really an issue of preference. Diet pop isn't healthy but then no drink is really as necessary or as healthy as water and that's what I drink most of the time. Now that I'm back in school I doubt I'll be drinking much of anything besides water, as its free and abundant on campus, so pop is just a treat that I have now and then. Also, if you've ever had Aunt Rosie's Loganberry you would drink that wherever its available.
I don't think it's very good. I'm not a big fan of Bell's Brewery. I appreciate the fact that they're committed to making drinkable, balanced beers, but I've always found their beers to be lackluster.
Hopslam is no exception. I think the problem is the honey. The beer starts out with this burst of hop flavor, and then it immediately dissipates. It has no real depth or body to it. It's just like an instantaneous taste of hop flavor, followed by mellowness. I definitely think Dogfish Head 90 Minute is a better beer.
The thing is, I usually criticize US beers for lack of subtlety or balance, but I can't get behind this beer. I feel like if you're going to drink a double IPA, you want a flavor bomb, and this thing didn't deliver.
In a broader context, I really don't know what the success of Bell's Brewery means exactly. In a nation filled with beers trying to outdo itself in terms of flavor-explosions and bitterness, Bell's gets superb ratings, despite the fact that their beers are, in my opinion, too bland and understated. The only conclusion I can draw from this is that beer enthusiasts in the US are susceptible to hype in an almost lemming-like fashion.
I can sort of relate to this. There are so many excellent brewers now that finding something that stands out as "better than the best" is almost impossible. The crap I can buy at the Food-4-Mart across the street from my house is, on average, better than what the liquor stores carried when I was growing up. The end result is a lot of people raving about good stuff as if it was wholly distinct and better than another amazing beer. Because of this, people seem to vote based on emotion and personal context. We see that in the pee beer market too - Miller Lt, Bud Light, and Coors Lite are all the same basic thing. In blind taste tests nobody can tell one from another, yet people have fierce brand loyalty. To assume the higher end beer consumer is any different is foolish.
I just bought a 6-pack of "Flying Dog Snake Dog," an IPA with 7.1% alcohol. It's pretty tasty and I really like it.
On days when I'm not drinking the hard stuff, I've been sticking to pomegranate green tea and water. I try to stick to a gallon of water daily but sometimes it's easy to forget (especially when you misplace your Nalgene).

This beer rivals Old Rasputin for sure.

In the end we get lemming opinion all around.
WUBRGPauper Battle BoxWUBRG ... and why I am not a fan of Wayne Reynolds' Illustrations.
