The doughnut place of my choice is Krispy Kreme, however they aren't too common in Canada so it's more of a rare treat for me. After I eat them though, boy, do I feel like an utter fatass.
And, I invariably walk away feeling disappointed and disgusting, fully convinced I can feel the grease emanating from my pores.
I know, right? I always feel like I need a shower after eating KFC. The doubledown sandwich was so good though, wish they still made it. Now there's really no reason to go back.
I've got this weird addiction to Combos and Arnold Palmer. Quakes are super tasty too.
I have an unhealthy addiction to chicken drowned in buffalo sauce...too bad real buffalo wings are so overpriced, or else I'd be eating them everyday, 24/7. Seriously, at .70 a wing, buying 10 is 7.00 dollars and that is NOT filling or worth it.:crying:
I hail from upstate New York where the wing and pizza combos are irresistible. Where I live currently (SE Texas) they bake the wings, and then have the gall to charge outrageous prices for what is essentially a cheap knockoff of the real thing at pizza joints.
Also, have a thing for deep fried mozzarella sticks. A restaurant nearby sells the best ever, and I can't stop eating them. Also, way overpriced at 8 dollars for 5!
First world problems.
Luckily, fries are cheap, and I can eat those things like candy.

Night in, chicken wings and pizza. Too expensive to have every day but god is it a treat. When I'm out it's gotta be Jack in the Box or Dick's burgers, whichever I'm closest to. Fast food as a general rule is good but I've found that these two are at the top of the food chain in terms of quality.
However, in today's culture of Justin Bieber, Jersey Shore, and Twilight, where every song on the radio, every program on television and every site on the internet is just another monument to the pinnacle of human stupidity, it's certainly not the worst thing that people could be watching.
I know there's better fried chicken out there. But KFC is sort of a childhood memory thing for me (and I'm convinced it tasted way better, once upon a time). So, every so often I get a craving that only KFC can fill. And, I invariably walk away feeling disappointed and disgusting, fully convinced I can feel the grease emanating from my pores.
Sometimes though, on a lonely night, I still go back
If you want to get over a KFC addiction, get a job there. I worked at KFC for a summer when I was 15 years old. 20+ years later I still won't step foot in the place.

To be honest this works at every restaurant, get a job there, you'll never want to eat there again.
Except at Starbucks, actually had the reverse effect. I had never been there before, until I found a job there, now I drink at Starbucks whenever I'm in the mood.

I know this sounds crazy but for some reason, the KFC restaurants that are found over in Europe (the Netherlands especially) are quite tastier than anything found in the US. I don't know why the recipe would be so much different but it apparently is. And it was much greasier as well.
I'd have a really hard time picking a "guilty pleasure" food item. If I had to pick right now, though, I'd have to say any kind of macaroni hot dish (cornerstone of the Minnesotan culture/lifestyle/diet) or a loco moco. Loco moco is a Hawaiian dish consisting of brown or white rice, topped off with a fresh hamburger patty and an egg, and then covered with brown gravy. Usually has some macaroni salad thrown in as well as a cooling effect. Needless to say, a properly done loco moco is amazing.
When my body is ready for it, I like to mix nutella in with peanut butter. Straight nutella I don't like very much but mixed with PB tastes great.
My metabolism is rather fragile so I can't deviate from healthy food much. Just a few minutes into eating a slice of pizza or some salty, oily chinese food and I start to feel sick. Used to love it when I was younger though.

It doesn't sound crazy. I've eaten KFC in China and Korea, and for the most part it was definitely better. The overall flavor wasn't much different, but the chicken seemed to be better prepared, meatier and of a higher quality than in the US. The exception was a KFC in Shen Yang (China) that struck me as distinctly worse.
I felt similarly about McD's in China; better tasting than in the US.

I eat my share of garbage to be sure, but these are the things that really get me:
Corned Beef Hash (made "fresh"): Every year or so my mother-in-law makes corned beef and cabbage, and I find the smell of the stuff as it cooks to be repellent, though I will generally eat the cabbage and potatoes. The next morning however I will gleefully chop up the bright pink beef and fry it with potatoes and onions (usually don't even need butter), then a couple of farm-fresh eggs over easy, and eat that with porn-face.
Bao: Especially Bao filled with bbq style meat.
Good Fritters: Apple is a classic, but I am open to other kinds of fruits if the fritter is well made.
Tom kha gai: On a cold, rainy day there is nothing better than a reasonably spicy bowl of this masterpiece.
Cincinnati Chili: I am almost a little embarrassed to even describe this, as it sounds like a trashy fusion only a person with no taste would eat, but it is really good. It is pretty simple- Chili con Carne with beans over Spaghetti noodles. Top it with whatever you might normally top a bowl of Chili con Carne with, and shut off any voices in your head.
To be honest I will eat pasta (fresh if I have time) and rice (white and brown) with just about any food, so that tends to really junk-up too many meals.
I'd have a really hard time picking a "guilty pleasure" food item. If I had to pick right now, though, I'd have to say any kind of macaroni hot dish (cornerstone of the Minnesotan culture/lifestyle/diet)
I thought "hotdish" was generally done with tater-tots.
I started reading this thread, but it made me too hungry so now I have to leave Water Cooler Talk
Dare Double Espresso Iced Coffee is my guilty pleasure. Also hot chips with lots of salt. Garlic Bread dripping in delicious butter. Croissant with ham, tomato and cheese or Croissant with Raspberry jam and butter...
Hm...I would have to say mine is chili cheese fries. I don't understand why, but I love them so much, despite the fact that I am on a diet and they upset my stomach.

Depends on the family making it. My mom has a macaroni and ground beef hot dish that she swears by, but her sister (my aunt) instead makes a wild rice, ground pork, and mushroom hot dish. I don't think I saw a tater tot hot dish until I was well into my teen years in the late 90s.

Huh. I am an Oregonian, and it is not a tradition here, but I heard about it several times so I had to go looking for family recipes and found that most of them had tots, rice, or both. That said, I am getting that from the web rather than the source so you are probably more of an authority than I am.
I recently went to a pub and was ripped off (by which I mean the dinner wasn't cheap, and I don't expect to pay ~$30 for a meal and cider). However, I reawakened my fondness for chips and McDonnell's curry sauce.
There's something about McDonnell's curry sauce as well as Japanese curries that make them so scrumptious by themselves, with schnitzels, with ebi tempura, with rice, with chips, or with most anything. The shame of it is that McDonnell's curry sauce is impossible to find and expensive to buy online and decent brands of Japanese curries are difficult to find too. Further, Japanese curries are quite finicky to make up.
Perhaps both remind me of childhood things... or have nostalgic, sentimental value.

Unsold patties go into it is probably a pretty good reason as to why I wouldn't order the chili.
Not that this is necessarily that user's reason or that this happens at all stores.
